Chapter 180: The Hospitable Ling Pingan
Watching the man from the Land of Qin leave, Ling Pingan casually threw the invitation letter in his hand to the counter.
As for whether he would go or not, it all depended on his mood tomorrow.
“There’s a high probability that I won’t go…” Ling Pingan said.
Who was he?
He was the man who threw the invitation letter personally delivered by the Jiangnan Provincial Commander-in Chief’s office into the trash can!
For Ling Pingan, there were only two things that could give him a high chance of leaving this house.
First, he had to go out because someone forced him to!
Second, he wanted to go out on his own.
From the situation, the person who could force him was far away in Nanyang, and he was unwilling to go out on his own.
Going out was very troublesome.
For someone like Ling Pingan, who didn’t want to cause trouble for himself, he would try his best to avoid unnecessary troubles.
… … ..
The man from the Land of Qin, who was wearing casual clothes, had just walked through the door.
A police car stopped in front of him.
“Federal Police!” The police officer in police uniform opened the door and showed his badge. “Mr. John, we suspect that you have engaged in work that doesn’t fit your identity. Please come with us for investigation!”
The man from the Land of Qin smiled and raised his hand, indicating that he had no intention of resisting.
Then, he put on the handcuffs obediently and sat in the police car.
He had achieved his goal.
Arrested!
The rest of the matter was between the Duchess and the Queen.
… ..
“John is arrested!” Putting down his phone, the man in holy clothes walked to the Duchess who was doing the pre-school preparations under the guidance of a tutor and studying the laws of this country.
“My lady…” he bowed and said, “Mr. John has been arrested!”
“Just as he walked out of that bookstore!”
The 12-year-old Duchess raised her head, and a smile appeared on her delicate face.
“So…” the Duchess said, “We caught the source of all the mutations?”
“I’m afraid so…” the man in holy clothes bowed deeply.
“According to the information we have so far…” he said, “The destruction of the Order of The Temple in Fran and Shinra are probably related to this bookstore owner!”
“Our informers found out that before the Order of The Temple was destroyed, the werewolf Earl Sherlock had secretly infiltrated Jiangcheng city…”
“Then we lost all information of him… he should have fallen here…”
“After that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country issued a decree, ordering that all economic and commercial transactions related to the Order of the Temple to cut off and that sanctions be imposed…”
“On the second day of the sanctions order, the Order of the Temple was destroyed!”
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Fran has issued a protest against the Federal Empire…”
“We have also investigated the content of the protest…”
It was very difficult to investigate the internal affairs of this eastern country, and they needed to take a huge risk.
However, there was no problem with the countries of the Land of Qin.
The United Kingdom of Britannia had infiltrated the countries of the Land of Qin to the point where it could infiltrate at will!

The mortal enemy of Fran had almost been penetrated through by him.
Therefore, as long as Britannia wanted to, there was no information that they could not get.
“So…” Integral asked, “The destruction of the Order of The Temple, the madness of the werewolf society…”
“The source is here?! It’s on the owner of the bookstore?!”
“I’m afraid so!” The man in holy clothes bowed deeply. “Otherwise, this country wouldn’t be so nervous!”
“Then…” Integral raised her scepter. “Tell the people of the Brotherhood about this!”
An eye in her scepter opened.
Gurgling blood flowed around it.
… … … … ..
Situ He stood at the window and looked at the man from the Land of Qin who was bailed out by the consul of Britannia.
He smiled.
He picked up the phone in his hand and dialed the number. “Commander-in-chief… I let him leave… Yes… yes…”
He put down the phone, took out a handkerchief, and wiped his forehead.
The owner of the bookstore was mysterious and powerful, scary and terrifying.
In any case, the Blackguard did not dare to test him.
They did not even dare to flatter him. They were afraid that if they flattered him, he would destroy them.
Now.
Someone volunteered to test him on behalf of the Federal Empire.
That was great!
As for the risk?
Situ He was not worried at all. Because the Blackguard did not participate in the whole thing, not even interfering!
They had even made an effort.
You see: The person was arrested and investigated.
The man was indeed an ordinary person. There was no threat, and he did not break the law.
Of course, Situ He was very clear that there were still drawbacks in this matter. Situ He already understood that the owner of the bookstore was an existence that all morals and laws in this world could not restrain.
Or rather, he could completely redefine morals and laws.
Just like that famous story in history, he referred to a deer as a horse.
He pointed at a deer and insisted that it was a horse!
Do you agree?
If you don’t agree with it, I’ll kill you!
But…
That itself was also part of the test.
It was the best specimen to observe the target.
Whether he wanted to, whether he was willing to abide by the existing system, morals, and laws.
Everything depended on his reaction this time.
… … … ..
“Ah…” Ling Pingan yawned. He felt more and more tired.
But when he looked up at the time, it was only nine o’clock!
“It’s not nice to close the door before ten-thirty!” He said and continued to sit at the counter.
Meow!
Bastet jumped into his arms and rubbed its owner’s chest intimately.
“Little fella…” Ling Pingan hugged his pet and stroked its soft fur. “You’re so obedient! You’re so considerate!”
At that moment, the door was pushed open.
Ling Pingan raised his head and saw a tall and burly guest with a strange tattoo on his thick arm walking in.
“Hello!” Ling Pingan stood up and greeted him, “What can I do for you?”
The guest looked at Ling Pingan and then saw the black kitten in Ling Pingan’s arms.
He gulped as if he couldn’t believe his eyes.
The majestic cat goddess…
The Guardian of the pyramid…
Was being held in the arms of a mortal?

That was blasphemy!
But considering that he was in the east, he barely managed to suppress his anger.
“Hello!” He used a somewhat unfamiliar federal language to say, “I’m a tourist…” he emphasized his identity.
“Hello!” Ling Pingan laughed. “I know!”
“Welcome to the Federal Empire for a tour!” Ling Pingan said.
Ling Pingan, like most of the people of the federal empire, had a good impression of tourists.
After all, these people came from far away with money to contribute to the economy of the Federal Empire.
What kind of person was that?
That was a gentleman!
Confucius said, “It’s a pleasure to have friends from far away!”
However, the kitten Bastet’s awareness was very low!
She jumped onto the counter, lowered her body, bared her teeth, and growled at the foreigner in front of her.
It seemed to be a warning, but it was also a deterrent.
Ling Pingan quickly picked up the little guy and said to the person with a smile, “Please don’t worry. Bastet is just a little afraid of strangers!”
The person looked at the kitten, Bastet.
A hint of awe and surprise flashed in his eyes.
But what surprised him even more was…
“You know that she is Bastet?” He looked at Ling Pingan seriously.
That seemingly ordinary federal citizen.
His thin and frail body could be crushed to death with a pinch by him.
There wasn’t the slightest reaction of psionic energy throughout his entire body.
Yet, it was precisely the person who held the cat goddess, whom entire Egypt worshiped and adored.
He could see the pyramid reflected behind the kitten in front of him.
The authority and strength of the cat goddess were returning.
However, she was willing to be an ordinary person’s pet here, in this small bookstore in the eastern country?!
The ordinary eastern man even directly called her by her honorific name.
Ling Pingan listened to the foreign guest’s words and was puzzled. “Of course, I know the name I gave her!”
“You’re an interesting person!”
When the other party heard that, his entire body trembled as if he had heard something incredible.
“I gave the name to her…”
“Of course, I know…”
The sentence echoed in his heart.
The Cat Goddess’s origin was extremely mysterious!
According to their investigations and research, even the main gods of ancient Egypt might not know the origin of this goddess.
And in the myths and legends of Ancient Egypt, the name of a God had great strength.
For example, the Sun god, Ra, anyone who knew his real name could control great strength!
But this Easterner was bragging, saying that he was the one who gave the name to the Cat Goddess?
And, the cat goddess herself had no objection to this.
She even rubbed against this person’s clothes intimately.
The afterglow of the pyramid behind her dyed her body.
She was indeed the cat goddess!
The facts in front of him made the powerful backbone of the Brotherhood doubted many things.
“There’s something wrong!” He thought, “There’s definitely something wrong!”
However, he could not see what’s wrong.
Everything was normal now.
That was an ordinary bookstore.
In front of him was a normal, ordinary eastern man.
There was not a single trace of psionic energy on his body.
Considering that this was the east…
Where that being existed…
He thought for a moment and said to the bookstore owner in front of him, “My name is Aziz!”
“I believe that we will meet again!”
Then, he opened the door and walked out of the bookstore.
Ling Pingan looked at this foreign guest who came in and left inexplicably.
He scratched his head, looked at the kitten Bastet, and asked carefully, “Bastet… was I being rude just now?”
As a citizen of the Federal Empire, etiquette was something that Ling Pingan cared about very much.
Especially in front of foreign guests, he paid great attention to it.
After all, the Federal Empire was a country of etiquette.
He shouldn’t bring shame to the country!
Meow!
The kitten, Bastet let out a soft purr.
… … … … … ..
Aziz walked out of the bookstore.
He turned back to look at the situation in the bookstore.
Suddenly…
His eyes froze.
Because he saw, under the lights of the bookstore, a man sitting at the counter, hugging the cat goddess and playing.
He…
Was no longer the same as before.
On his head, on that plain face of his, the fog slowly overflowed.
Finally, it swallowed his entire head, making him mysterious and terrifying.
Two flames slowly shone from the center of the fog, like a solar flare.
The cat goddess, Bastet stretched out her pink tongue, licking the back of his hand like a servant kissing his master’s hand.
“This…” Aziz could not believe his eyes.
“How could this be?!” If he had seen this situation just now, he would not have dared to be so bold, much less threaten him!
“Who is he?” In his panic, Aziz had to think about that.
That was…Who was he?
But he soon did not need to think about the question.
Because a thin fog had spread around him at an unknown time.
By the time Aziz found out, he was already in the thick fog.
A slimy and sticky tentacle-like thing had wrapped around his body without him realizing it.
Aziz raised his head and looked at the top of his head.
He only saw a terrifying mouthpart biting down on his head.
Crack!
He didn’t even have time to think about resisting before he was swallowed.
The thick fog slowly dispersed, and Aziz’s figure was no longer on the street.
It was as if he had never appeared in this world.
Situ He looked at the image on the screen in a daze.
He repeatedly retrieved and slowed down the image just now.
But the truth was that even if it was slowed down by 100,000 times, it was still the same.
At 0.001 seconds ago, the Kunlun man was still standing under the camera.
After 0.001 seconds, he disappeared without a trace.
No one knew where he went!
But they could be sure that he didn’t use any spells, and there was no psionic energy fluctuation detected at the scene.
It was as if…
At that moment, he fell into a space fragment.
And the space fragment instantly became harmonious.
“What did that Kunlun man do?” Situ He couldn’t help but ask.
He knew that there would never be an answer.
That matter also made Situ He secretly sweat.
Looking at the consequences of that Kunlun man.
It wasn’t hard to imagine how lucky he was to be able to safely walk out of that fog when he had rashly barged into it!

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
