Murim Recurve Chapter 128

The VIP table wasn't anything special, except for the fact it was situated far away from everyone and was mostly hidden behind a pillar over which flower vines grew. This cast a wall that prevented people from seeing the ones seated on the table.
Moreover, it occupied a lot of space, preventing anyone from even mistakenly hearing the conversation that happened in the place.
The tall lady brought Re'Kha to the table, making her sit comfortably on the chair. She then sat opposite to her, acting in line with her position, displaying her professionalism to do something that she didn't like doing.
Re'Kha didn't seem to mind it though, acting as if she was enjoying being in the company of the tall, beautiful lady. A servant arrived and took their orders, sighing as he glanced at the tall lady before leaving.
Re'Kha kept her Wind Qi perception active, ensuring there was no one else within audible range. She slightly relaxed, gazing at the tall lady, expressing her surprise, "How…were you able to pull this off?"
"I have a friend who's a spy," The tall lady smiled, "She is someone who has conducted seven successful missions of infiltrating into the land of the Treka and even managed to live there for a couple of months every time."
The tall lady chuckled, "She helped me with this disguise. How is it? Even you couldn't recognise me like this, right?"
"Didn't the thought cross in your mind that I wouldn't be able to recognise you and head straight to the first floor?" Re'Kha frowned, acting like she was slightly angry.
"You can feel that connection, right?" The tall lady laughed, "That would have been more than enough. Besides, I disguised as the receptionist precisely to prevent any troubles from cropping up."

"And," She smiled, "The one acting as my double is one of my close friends. My spy friend disguised himself as me. How was it? Was his appearance perfect?"
"I didn't actually see him," Re'Kha shrugged, "It's not as if the ability my master gave me can perceive people like the sight."
"Right, you did talk about that." The tall lady nodded. Re'Kha hadn't said anything about her Wind Qi perception to Re'Shi yet. She didn't wish to trouble him more than she already did. She felt it would be better to do so once Re'Shi freed himself from his situation.
At present, what she said to Re'Shi was similar to what she had said to Mu'Tua. It wasn't the truth, but it wasn't entirely a lie either. That was why Re'Kha went with such an explanation.
"Just…what is happening up there? I just felt…a sense of danger from up there." Re'Kha frowned, "I thought you managed to extricate yourself from the politics of your Clan."
"That wouldn't stop until Re'Kya kills me," The tall lady sighed, acting completely different from how Re'Shi behaved. "I just said I wished to take some time away from the Clan and cool my head. I used the upcoming auction as an excuse. Unfortunately, Re'Kya still dispatched a lot of people to keep tabs on me."
"How will you return after this? Are you able to stay longer?" Re'Kha asked; her voice choked up as she didn't wish to part ways so quickly.
"The person I am disguised as is actually the receptionist of this restaurant. I picked this because we have a similar height and my spy friend said she could pull off her appearance through a disguise. I paid her enough to make sure she skipped work today. But, if I do this again, she might become suspicious." The tall lady sighed. Her expression morphed into one who was troubled but still put through with the demands of the other person, acting in time when the servant returned with the food.

He then set the table, arranged the food items, and walked away. The tall lady's expression returned to normal as Re'Kha laughed, "When did you become so good with acting?"
"I've been acting a lot recently. I guess, trying to fool an expert of acting like Re'Kya forced me to drastically improve my skills." The tall lady said with a smug expression, waving her hand above her chest, "Aren't mine bigger than yours?"
"As if," Re'Kha rolled her eyes, "They aren't."
Re'Kha laughed, heaving a sigh of relief after that, "There is a person I met after arriving at this city. Her name is Ki'Nua, and she's also connected to the Withered Courtyard. I am planning to investigate her house in two days."
"That's risky," The tall lady's voice turned a tad louder, almost sounding manly for an instant before she controlled herself, taking in a deep breath before speaking, "That contains a lot of risk. What are you planning to do if you are pulled into it? It would be late by the time I come to know about it and rush to your rescue."
"Relax," Re'Kha smiled, "I made some preparations. And besides, I have Harpen Waves."
"Harpen Waves…? You mean the real deal?" The tall lady's eyes widened in surprise, "Where did you get it?"
"In that settlement," Re'Kha sighed, talking about some more of her experiences that she hadn't been able to share the previous time.
"Just don't attempt anything risky for the time being. Focus on recuperating. Lady Mu'Tua should be able to heal your eyes fully. So, just stay at her place and meditate. As for the details concerning your master, I'm already on it. Once I uncover something, I'll relay a message to you."
"And," The tall lady sighed, "I think your mother is already onto you."
"How? I have been careful all along." Re'Kha frowned, "How did she get a clue despite that?"
"There are two clues actually." The tall lady sighed, "First, the fact that lady Mu'Tua has a guest that has stayed in her house for three months, and based on witness, Re'Luk is a water attributed Harmoniser. The second clue was…"
"Your father," She didn't know how to express herself, "He's not a good actor. That fact that his expression of loss and despair had disappeared all of a sudden is more than enough of a clue for your mother."

The Last Death Mage
Since time immemorial humanity has always feared and shunned what it didn’t understand. Over time this changed a bit to encompass things that didn’t conform to their thoughts and ideals. Due to humanity’s stubbornness with which the enforced their ideals many lives were lost and changed. When humanity first clashed with monsters and the beings that use magic, this trait caused many bloody fights. Over time the fights escalated into battles and full on war on several occasions. Humanity due to their adaptability and persistence won many of these altercations, causing huge casualties to the magical beings. Humanity did not come out unscathed however; many of the empires and civilizations noted in human history fell due to these battles and wars. Eventually over time humanity and the magical beings came to a sort of agreement. Magic and the beings associated with it faded into the background of history, being relegated to myth and legend. Humanity meanwhile advanced leaps and bounds once magic faded, leading to our current level of civilization. Not all magical beings were content with this, thus they did their own actions and killed or fed on humans. This has led to many organizations to be formed concerning this, on both the side of humanity and the side of magical beings. They regulate and control the use of magic as well as protect humanity from the darker things that are now not but myth to them, but there is a reason humanity instinctually fears the dark. Unfortunately there are always those that are unsatisfied by the status quo, and those that are prejudiced against things that are different. This is a story of a young man who wanted nothing more than to be normal. Unfortunately Fate and the world he lives in do not easily allow that this, thus his life changed, not for the better. Everyone has heard of or read stories about monsters and legends, heroes and villains, this is one such story. Hi, this is my second attempt at a story here, the first was before the major overhaul happened and i lost everything related to that story due to PC troubles. I hope you enjoy this if you dont please leave some constructive criticism in the comments. An Editor and the like will be needed, but I will edit as problems are pointed out and as i proof read. This story will have no set schedule, unless of course I decide to type up a bunch in succession then i will note that in a chapter beforehand. ADDED NOTE: most sexual content will be in Interludes or sub chapters with a .5 attached. Profanity and gore however shall be plenty in the actual story, though the descriptives for the gore may be added later. (For example, in the prologue that gave a hint at what happened to the MC, will be enhanced so that the gore invokes more descriptive/complete mental pictures, though it may wait.) ~Tyroth Gideon
