Chapter 2428 Everyone Has Come

Sword ray flashed like a bolt of lightning as the sword fell toward Duan Si Ling.

The soft sound of something being cut rang in the air.

Gan Ru Yan trembled when she heard the sound. She shut her eyes immediately, she could not bear to watch the scene unfolding before her eyes. She felt as though her heart had stopped beating.

Qing Huo and the Old Prophet’s expressions changed drastically as well. Shock could be seen in their eyes.

Su Li’s sword did not land on Duan Si Ling’s body. Instead, it had cut some of her hair off. She was currently unharmed.

Roar!

Su Li roared like a wild beast with his reddened eyes. His handsome face contorted as though he was struggling with himself. He said hoarsely in broken sentences, “No… cannot… hurt her…”

Based on Su Li’s words, Qing Huo and the Old Prophet discovered Su Li did not seem to have full control of his actions. It seemed as though something was controlling him.

Everyone was still stunned when Su Li moved like a bolt of lightning toward the black hole in the void nearby. Su Li had entered the Beyond Heaven Secret Zone!

“Uncle Su Li…” Duan Si Ling murmured. She had clearly seen the struggle within Su Li’s eyes. Her instincts told her the person who tried to kill her was not Su Li. It was clearly the actions of the devil that was in his body. That explained Su Li’s dual personality!

“Si Ling!” Gan Ru Yan cried out in joy and relief upon discovering Duan Si Ling was unharmed. How could she not feel joy when she saw her niece was unharmed?

“What happened earlier?”

“That Su Li seemed to have transformed into another person… No, it seems more like he’s possessed.”

“When his eyes turned red, it felt as though he’s more devil than human!”

Qing Huo and the Old Prophet looked at each other as they conversed among themselves. They had thought Su Li would not be able to override the devil’s control when he tried to kill Duan Si Ling. Moreover, Su Li’s killing intent was real, he really intended on killing Duan Si Ling. Who knew he managed to suppress the devil for a moment and changed the trajectory of the sword, and thus, saving Duan Si Ling’s life.

“How did Uncle Su Li become like this?” Duan Si Ling asked worriedly when she heard Qing Huo and the Old Prophet’s conversation. She could see Su Li was not in a good condition before he left. Although she had already come to a conclusion in her mind, she still wanted confirmation.

The Old Prophet furrowed his brows as he asked, “Little Si Ling, did you truly hear your daddy speaking about him? He’s truly from Cloud Continent?”

“Yes.” Duan Si Ling nodded her head. “Daddy mentioned Uncle Su Li a couple of times before. He even said Uncle Su Li is his best friend and that his biggest regret is not being able to meet Uncle Su Li after he left Cloud Continent. Daddy hasn’t seen Uncle Su Li since then, I didn’t expect Uncle Su Li would suddenly appear here.”

“Yes… How did he know to come here?”

The Old Prophet, Qing Huo, and Gan Ru Yan were confused when they heard Duan Si Ling’s words. Naturally, they did not think it was a coincidence that Su Li had appeared in this place.

The Upper Province of the Dao Martial Saint Land was vast. Although it was not out of the realm of possibility for someone to accidentally stumble across this place, for the person to be also acquainted with Duan Ling Tian was too big of a coincidence.

After Duan Si Ling confirmed that Su Li’s actions were out of his control, she looked at the Old Prophet and asked, “Grandpa Prophet, will Uncle Su Li be okay?” It could be clearly seen in her eyes that she expected the Old Prophet to reassure her and say Su Li would be okay.

“He should be okay…” The Old Prophet replied, “Seeing as he’s still able to retain some control, it seems like he’s been this way for a while now.” He continued to comfort Duan Si Ling. “Therefore, there’s no need for you to worry about him.”

“Okay.” Duan Si Ling felt much better after hearing the Old Prophet’s words.

“Why are you here?” The Old Prophet was startled when he saw the three uninvited guests.

These three uninvited guests were none other than the two little pythons and little gold mouse he met last time. Back then, the Old Prophet had instructed Yue Wu Ying to take these three and leave them in the Lower Province of Dao Martial Saint Land. He had done that because he had divined that they would have some fortuitous encounter in the Lower Province. Although he was not entirely sure if the divination was completely accurate, he still decided to take a chance and ordered Yue Wu Ying to bring them away. After all, one would only succeed by taking risks.

“Old geezer!” The golden-clad little glared at the Old Prophet and asked, “Why did you order Yue Wu Ying to send us away to the Lower Province that’s infested with devils? Were you planning to kill us?”

Little Gold, Little Black, and Little White had returned to the Upper Province three days ago. Through the intelligence network of the Red Dust Progeny, they learned about many things that they were unaware of. One of the things they found was the Old Prophet was the one who had ordered Yue Wu Ying to send them to the Lower Province. Naturally, they also knew the Old Prophet had done that because he had divined that they would have a fortuitous encounter in the Lower Province. However, they were upset that the Old Prophet did not even talk to them about it and just threw them to Lower Province without any explanation.

For this reason, apart from Little Gold, even Little Black was staring at the Old Prophet coldly. Little White whose temper was the best among the three was also staring at the Old Prophet with some hostility.

“It seems like three of you managed to come across a fortuitous encounter in the Lower Province, right?” Although three of them did not release their energies, the Old Prophet could vaguely tell that they had gotten stronger based on the way they carried themselves.

At this moment, Duan Si Ling who was standing at the side spoke up. She said reproachfully, “Hey! You’re such a cute little girl! How can you be so impolite? Grandpa Prophet is an elder, you mustn’t talk to him like that!” She spoke in a tone of an elder educating a junior.

“Si Ling!” Gan Ru Yan said warningly. Duan Si Ling might not realize Little Gold was strong, however, she could clearly sense it. Therefore, she hurriedly warned Duan Si Ling.

“Who are you, little girl?” Little Gold asked impatiently as she turned to look at Duan Si Ling. She frowned and said threateningly, “It’d do you good not to intervene in the matter between us and the Old Prophet!”
