Chapter 1789: The Heavenly Polars Geomantic Compass
After Zhang Ruochen transformed into He Yuan, his left leg was still quite heavy, and he still limped as he walked, without any control of it.
That was a big giveaway!
Therefore, Zhang Ruochen dared not be too blatant and hid his aura as much as he could as he snuck to the bottom of the Tongming River.
When he arrived at the underwater dragon palace, Zhang Ruochen found that all of the formation inscriptions of the dragon palace had been breached. Within the dragon palace, before the towering dragon tomb, over a dozen figures stood around it, wearing black robes and exuding a strange and eerie aura.
The dragon tomb had Supreme Saint inscriptions laid by the Golden Dragon around it, and even a Nine-step Saint King would find it difficult to breach the defenses, but they were all eaten away by the cultivators of the Fane of Youshen using Blood of the Devil.
With the dragon tomb breached, a large area in the southeast corner had collapsed.
Among them were two black-robed cultivators, whose aura was quite strong, and made Zhang Ruochen felt quite a bit of pressure. They were, without a doubt, elites of the Nine-step Saint King realm.
One of them stood under the dragon tomb, wearing white bone armor that covered the entire body, making the wearer’s age and gender indiscernible.
The white bone armor was made out of the immortal bones of a Supreme Saint, and within the bones, the precepts of the Supreme Saint were retained with defensive inscriptions engraved on it as well.
Behind him were two carrion corpses.
While they were carrion corpses, their flesh and skin radiated with a metallic luster, looking like a pair of God of Death as their bodies radiated a heavy deathly aura, turning the surrounding river water within tens of feet from them, black.
Another Nine-step Saint King elite stood on the top of the dragon tomb with his hands on his back, looking about fifty or sixty years old with his white hair fluttering in the air. The aura he released was stronger than the white bone armored cultivator and the two carrion corpses combined.
Aside from that, there were seven to eight black-robed cultivators present, each was a first-rate elites.
Zhang Ruochen dared not act rashly and became even more cautious as he said to himself, “That cultivator in white bone armor is probably He Yuan’s master, Venerable Hiddenheart. He cultivates both spiritual and martial paths, and is proficient in seeking out dragons and refining their corpses, and he has about a dozen Abominations at his disposal, and his strength is far beyond Yuan Che’s.”
“The one standing on top of the dragon tomb is probably Venerable Hiddenheart’s junior, Feng Chengdao. He is a person who is close to the Greater Precept World realm.”
Venerable Hiddenheart simple geomantic compass in his hand, and constantly infused it with Saint Qi.
Whooosh!!
With the geomantic compass as the center, the river flow turned rapid and forming a vortex.
To be precise, its the heavenly and earthly qi in the water that were flowing rapidly, and carried the river water with it, causing that strange phenomenon.

About an hour later, a flash of excitement appeared in Venerable Hiddenheart’s eyes, and his hands trembled a little as he said. “The Heavenly Poles Geomantic Compass had found the aura of the dragon corpse. It’s deep underground. Give me a bit more time, and I could lock onto its position. No matter how deep it is hidden, I will be able to dig it out.”
Most of the cultivators of the Fane of Youshen knelt on one knee. “Congratulations, Venerable.”
Feng Chengdao laughed. “Geat! Once we dig out that dragon corpse and refine it into a Wyrmlord Abomination, we will definitely be able to dominate the Eastern Region. By then, those sacred medicines will be ours to take, yeah? Supreme Sainthood is close at hand. HAHA!”
“I cannot wait any longer.”
Zhang Ruochen’s heart tensed up as he thought hard about countermeasures.
Suddenly, he pulled out a short blade that was of a Ten-Thousand Marks Saint Artifact and swiped it over his left leg.
Shrring!
The blade could not cut through the skin of his left leg, and only left a white mark which soon disappeared.
Zhang Ruochen smiled helplessly, and then used the short blade to make five bloody wounds over his body, and then smeared a large amount of blood on his left leg. He then put away the short blade and rushed over toward the dragon tomb in a panic.
“Not good! Not good, Master! Zhang Ruochen has come to Tongming River!”
Zhang Ruochen rushed to the front of Venerable Hiddenheart and fell forward heavily onto the ground.
The cultivators of the Fane of Youshen all reacted like they were facing a major foe, and turned toward the direction behind Zhang Ruochen.
“I want to dig out the dragon corpse, and I don’t have the time to bother with him. But very well, he actually showed up to meet his doom.” Venerable Hiddenheart let out a dark laugh as he immediately dispatched his two carrion corpses to intercept Zhang Ruochen.
Just at this moment, ‘He Yuan’ who was still on the ground, suddenly raised his hand and blasted out a dark light from his hand.
It was a Dimensional Rift.
“You…”
As ‘He Yuan’ and Venerable Hiddenheart were too close to one another, the latter sensed the dimensional fluctuations but could not avoid it. So he quickly turned his body to avoid his vitals.
“Pfffft.”
The Dimensional Rift cut Venerable Hiddenheart’s arm off, as blood gushed out and dyeing a large area red.
There was confusion and fury in Venerable Hiddenheart’s eyes.
Zhang Ruochen dared not to commit into battle, and immediately grabbed the broken arm and deployed his Great Dimensional Shift.
Noticing the fluctuations in the dimension around him, Venerable Hiddenheart finally realized and shouted. “So it was you, Zhang Ruochen.”
“Frigid Palm Strike.”
Tens of thousands of Saint Path precepts rushed out of Venerable Hiddenheart’s single arm and blasted at Zhang Ruochen with fury, and breaking the latter’s body into pieces.
“Damn it, it’s just a phantom. After him!”
Venerable Hiddenheart let out a furious roar as the soundwave blasted out, and shook the river waters within hundreds of miles, kicking up waves tens of feet high.

Whoosh…
Zhang Ruochen walked out of the void and appeared by the river bank. The bones of his left shoulder were all shattered and mangled as a searing pain ran across his body, rendering most of his body numb.
Earlier on, he had failed to avoid that palm strike from Venerable Hiddenheart and suffered serious injuries.
“A Nine-step Saint King is just too scary, even when I used the Great Dimensional Shift I was still half a step too slow. If I was any slower, I’d probably be dead at the bottom of the river.”
“Master, here.”
Moyin was waiting by the shore and had already urged the Golden Dragon Carriage to its limits.
Zhang Ruochen jumped into the carriage and the nine golden dragons pulled the carriage into the skies. The explosive speed was much faster than any Nine-step Saint King.
Sitting in the Golden Dragon Carriage, Zhang Ruochen immediately ate a healing sacred pill, and then looked at the broken arm of Venerable Hiddenheart.
In the hand of the broken arm was a black ancient geomantic compass.
“This is Venerable Hiddenheart’s Heavenly Polars Geomantic Compass. By taking it, it would be difficult for Venerable Zangxin to find the exact location of the Golden Dragon’s remains.”
Zhang Ruochen was about to grab the Heavenly Polars Geomantic Compass and suddenly, a dazzling light blasted out from the broken arm and dropped the compass as it smashed at Zhang Ruochen’s chest.
Zhang Ruochen’s expression immediately changed and quickly deployed the power of dimensional distortion to neutralize the blow.
“Although a Nine-step Saint King is strong, an arm alone cannot do anything to me.”
Zhang Ruochen immediately roused the formation inscriptions within the Golden Dragon Carriage to suppress the arm, and blasted out a Chenyan-level Divine Purification Flame, and burned the arm to ashes.
On the Tongming River.
Venerable Hiddenheart sensed that the link between him and his arm had disappeared, and his eyes instantly turned blood-red as he hated Zhang Ruochen with all his being.
With his current cultivation as a Nine-step Saint King, having his arm cut off, and then destroyed, it was very difficult to regrow a perfect arm again. Even if he was to consume sacred pills and sacred medicines, and forcefully regrow an arm, it will definitely have defects. This will inevitably have a massive impact in forming an immortal body, and his attempt to break into the realm of a Supreme Saint.
It may be very well that this would be the reason he will never be able to reach the realm of a Supreme Saint.
Boom!! Boom!!
Feng Chengdao rushed out of the water and shouted: “They can never escape.”
“Heavens and earth, heed me and strike out!”
Tens of millions of Saint Path precepts rushed out from inside Feng Chengdao’s body and gathered under his feet, forming a circular seal. Both the spiritual energy and Saint Qi from around him converged upon him.
Immediately after, Feng Chengdao pointed at the sky.
Whoosh!!
A blinding light beam blasted out and actually caught up to the Golden Dragon Carriage that had already galloped thousands of miles away.
The creatures on the ground could see the light beam crossing through the sky as thundering sounds echoed in their ears. The powerful Saint Path energy wave had caused who knows how many civilians on the ground to faint, and bleed from their nose and ears.
On the Golden Dragon Carriage, Zhang Ruochen and Moyin poured all of their powers into the Eight-Dragon Umbrella.
“RAAAAAWWWRRR!!”
The diameter of the Eight-Dragon Umbrella became as big as a cloud as eight golden dragons rushed out of the umbrella, coiling together and forming a majestic portrait of eight dragons.
BOOM!!
The light beam crashed against the Eight-Dragon Umbrella and causing the Golden Dragon Carriage to shake violently, and almost fell from the air.
After all, the light beam had already flown thousands of miles and had lost much of its power, and was successfully blocked by Zhang Ruochen and Moyin.
Feng Chengdao could clearly the collision thousands of miles away and frowned as he said. “I always thought that Zhang Ruochen must have borrowed the power of Yueshen to defeat the divine avatar of the Blackheart Demonlord. Seems like I have underestimated him in the past. This kid, while his cultivation level is still ow, but he is definitely a headache and needs to be rid of as soon as possible.”
Venerable Hiddenheart spat bitterly. “Since Zhang Ruochen is rushing back to Yunwu Commandery, it means that he cares about the humans in that place. Let’s go to the royal city, and he will definitely appear.”
When Feng Chengdao and Venerable Hiddenheart led a group of cultivators from the Fane of Youshen to Yunwu royal city, Zhang Ruochen blasted out a Communication Talisman to Awesome, the Little Taoist.
A moment later, Zhang Ruochen received the reply talisman from Awesome, the Little Taoist. On the light talisman, it wrote. “All of the humans in Yunwu Commandery have all entered the inner worlds within the Exquisite Dimensional Orbs.”
Zhang Ruochen heaved a sigh of relief and immediately sent a message to Awesome, the Little Taoist, and to get it to bring Xie Chengzi, the Mastadon-Devouring Rabbit and Demon Ape to fall back into the Royal Mountains.
There were both Dimensional and Temporal Arrays in the Royal Mountains. No matter how strong the Fane of Youshen’s cultivators was, they would not be able to break in in a short period of time. Plus, Awesome, the Little Taoist had a Supreme Saint artifact in its hands, and with the evil spirit in the mountain itself, they were not totally helpless.
On the way back to the Royal Mountains, Zhang Ruochen received another Communication Talisman.
It turned out that Luo Xu had sent someone to bring the two Godstones to the Martial Market Bank branch in Qianshui Commandery’s royal city for Zhang Ruochen to fetch them.
“As expected of the Martial Market Bank, they are sure efficient.”
Zhang Ruochen was overjoyed, and so he drove the Golden Dragon Carriage toward the direction of Qianshui royal city, hoping to get the Godstone as soon as possible.

The story only I can speak of for it is solely mine. And now, as I recount it to you, thence forth it shall belong to all that hear of it. Listen well, then, for I shall begin.”Sooo, that’s it. The world isn’t what it is. The dead are alive. The weak become strong. And bla bla bla. The normal days of a superhero-in-training, I suppose.
