Hidden Marriage With My Imperfect CEO Chapter 5

Aiden was sitting in a luxurious office chair, chairing a meeting that was in progress. The screen in front of him showed the presentation of his employees about the marketing strategies they would ship next month. The sunglasses never left his face even though he was in the room.
The meeting had been going on for three hours and there was no sign of Aiden to stop him. Everyone in the room felt very tired, but not a single person dared to complain in front of their superiors.
Everyone in the room was aware that their boss was in a bad mood. They all knew Aiden as a boss who was very strict and cruel. Aiden demanded the best performance from its employees and would reward them accordingly. But he also did not hesitate to dishonorably fire his employees if they made mistakes or failed to meet his standards.
Even though Aiden was currently unable to see, none of them dared to underestimate him. With or without his eyes, Aiden was the same as before.
Aiden's hand tapped the table in front of him, a sign that he was not satisfied with the work shown by his subordinates. Drops of cold sweat started rolling down everyone's foreheads.
Harris was standing behind Aiden, along with several other bodyguards. He felt the cellphone in his pocket vibrate, indicating that he had a message. He read the incoming message at a glance. Then, he immediately walked over to Aiden and whispered something to him.
Hearing what Harris said, Aiden immediately stopped the ongoing meeting.
"The meeting is adjourned." He said coldly, before exiting the room.
After Aiden and Harris left the room, everyone immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
Some of them leaned limply on their chairs, looking exhausted and scared too.

They were saved!
Meanwhile, in Aiden's office, Harris read the message he just got to Aiden. The message contained information about Anya.
Aiden's office was located on the 21st floor, the top floor of the Atmajaya Group building, dominated by black, white and gray. A large black workbench against a tall window that overlooked the road.
The window had been left open without a curtain, making the room bright with sunlight. Unfortunately, after Aiden's accident, the window was always closed. The gray curtains never opened, not even a hint of sunlight could peek into the office. The monochrome-colored room looked even gloomy without any lighting from the sun.
Anya Tedjasukmana. Age 20 years.
The only daughter of Deny Tedjasukmana and Diana Hutama. Deny Tedjasukmana was the CEO of Tedja Group, while Diana worked as a perfume maker.
They both divorced when Anya was ten years old. After that, Deny married a second time to a woman named Mona Wijaya, who already had a daughter named Natali.
After the divorce of her father and mother, Anya lived with her mother in a small and simple house. However, three years ago, her mother had a heart problem which caused her to be in a coma.
As expected by Aiden, last night's incident had something to do with Natali Tedjasukmana.
Last night, Anya met with Natali in the hope that Natali would be willing to lend her money so she could pay for her mother's hospital fees. Unfortunately, Natali didn't intend to help her. Instead, she used Anya to free herself from her matchmaking with Aiden.
Natali was quite smart. All the CCTV footage in the hotel corridor was deleted by her. She had given all the people she ordered to shut up so she thought her plan was neatly wrapped.
But the woman didn't realize who she was facing right now. Nothing was impossible for an Aiden Atmajaya.

Aiden could have offered more money than Natali offered. If money didn't work, Aiden still had a thousand and one ways to get the witnesses to speak up.
One of the servants who brought Anya to his room admitted that it was Natali who was the mastermind behind all these plans. Natali deliberately spiked Anya's drink, while Anya didn't have any suspicion of her sister. Later, Natali ordered the two servants to take Anya into his room.
Aiden listened to the report with a blank and expressionless gaze, leaving Harris unable to guess what his boss was really thinking.
To be honest, Harris was surprised by Aiden's current attitude. While working for Aiden, he never once saw his boss behave like this. Aiden has never shown any attraction to a woman.
So far, his life had always been filled with work, work and work. Even after the accident and his eyes became blind, Aiden still immersed himself in work after job, as if trying to escape from the world.'
This was the first time Aiden has asked him to seek information about a woman. What exactly made his boss so attracted to this woman?
"Tell Abdi to bring Anya to this place. I want to meet her." Aiden said as he waved his hand, telling Harris to leave him alone. Harris immediately carried out Aiden's orders and left the room.
Aiden rubbed his face with his hands, hoping they could erase his bad mood since morning.
Aiden's memories returned to the hotel room he left this morning. The room where he spent his most beautiful nights and also the room where his joy just wore off.
Anya ... That woman ...
The woman didn't know who Aiden was ...
The woman didn't recognize him...
On the other hand, Aiden could not wipe away Anya's face that was stuck in his mind.
Her long black hair that hung down beautifully. Her dark eyes were black, drowning her in his sight. Her white face blushed easily. The dimple on her right cheek that popped up when she smiled. Her tiny lips were reddish like a cherry.
Aiden could not forget the image from his brain. Especially when Anya's long hair hung over her bed, her lips parted slightly as she fell asleep.
But why didn't Anya recognize him?
Aiden still remembered very well, a look of sadness and disappointment raging on Anya's face when she found out that the two of them had spent the night together. That expression seemed to destroy Aiden's excitement, making his day really bad.
Aiden still remembered the time when Anya looked at him in confusion, as if she didn't even know the man she had been with all night. As if that day was their first meeting.
A suspicious expression appeared on Anya's face when Aiden said her name, while Anya couldn't remember the man in front of her at all.
What really happened to her? Is Anya just pretending not to recognize him?
Aiden's hands brushed his black hair carelessly, making his neat hair a little messy. But he didn't care at all.
Only one thing he thought of at the moment.
'Why don't you recognize me, Nya?'

Ph. D. In Sorcery
Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do. In the end that is the reason, I am doing this, because I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and seeing the outcome. Credit for the art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0o8nw

YAOS 1 - Limitless Adventures - Yet Another OP Story Book 1
December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and at Amazon. December 30th 2018: V1.1.2 of YAOS Book 1 is out, some content additions, fixed typos. Amazon's enhanced typesetting now displays tables properly. YAOS is shown through the eyes of some genius athlete getting OP inside a VR, ah wait, Full Immersion game, ?F.I.O?. Not a Hero, not a Nerd, just a driven individual paying for mistakes made, biding time until he can return to the Real World. He isn't defined like you'd normally do it, you can pick his looks and name all on your own, just like you do in video games. Believe it or not, keeping his looks undefined is harder than you think. His backstory isn't expounded in detail, but it drives his choices. Book 1 isn't about depressing sob stories but about fun and rushing forward, pursuing new horizons. Oh, and you'll end on a cliffhanger! Well, most serials do, so you will probably expect that without being told explicitly. But it isn't that bad, there's a lot of reveals and more to come once this book, that is the first in a planned three-part series, is finally ready for release on amazon et al. The published version will have: 1.) Godawful speaker tags, I hate them, they make you stop thinking and speed up editing so much. In hindsight they should have been in to begin with. But I stand by my goals proclaimed earlier. You guys should think while reading, that is the whole point of the exercise. Apply the knowledge and ideas, improve yourself, get creative! 2.) Pretty colored tables, the damned blue boxes, a lot of work, 69 in one book. Finally fixed amazon's centering issue. Can't say I liked the hours needed to debug that. 3.) The promised Mitara chapters. 4.) A cover! 5.) And lastly, updated polished versions of several chapters. MC shares more of his past, some terrible chapters (esp. 32) finally work. Some new scenes, minor rewrites in parts. Text flow and other issues. The current challenge is to maintain essential ambiguity while satisfying people wanting to know more without thinking three steps ahead. Balancing one with the other is tough. The smut which was in remains, but the story told is not to be superseded by it. A 15+ rating for the first book is also important, not to mention, YAOS wasn't meant to contain any smut to begin with. If the Author can turn to writing full time his output should increase, so please support YAOS #1 once it does finally release. ~Thank You~ No maps so far, that should be in, but is really hard to get done right. Again, tips are appreciated. Update September 2017: Stubbed chapters, sorry guys, currently don't have time to upload them elsewhere, polishing book 1 and 2, writing 3, takes precedence. Book 1 is in heavy editing, too much to keep synced and continuing editing. I'd need a site which offers JS-free rapid managing of chapters and comments. Coding one myself or setting a premade up is out of scope until I'm done with the books. RRL-old offered that, nuff said. This is only here because the author believes in fairies, nobody reads this, most likely. October to December 2017: Life threw some curveballs. February 2018: Book 2 draft 1 completed, at ~150K words. Book 2 is fairly epic in scope, requires 1 rewritten chapter, some editing. Tables and miscellanea are in, but needs at least a grammar pass. March 2018: Book 3 at 28k words, first arc, rest needs serious planning for spin-off and satisfying conclusion. July 2018: Yet another proofing/editing session of books 1-3, 101+ chapters, ~300k words. B3 at 48k, starts out great, but no ETA, no wordcount limit, in flux. But prioritizing my writing cannot be done, I hate the delays as much as you, but you will prefer the whole released in a timely fashion rather than wait. Knowing myself how excruciating waiting can be, at least you'll get significantly polished versions and an ETA on book 2 by release of book 1. December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and in the process at Amazon et. al.. . To all who wait patiently, offered feedback, thanks again!

The carnomancer
Jackson was but a normal american just looking to get by in life. unfortunately for him life had other plans as a terrorist bombing took place in the air port in london where he was getting off at. The resulting explosion killed him instantly, and now he has been reincarnated into the world of Rokna. In this new world of magic, monsters, and conflict join him under his new identity Adimir freelancer the adventurer half-elf as he seeks a way to live out an exciting life of researching new and creative ways of combining magic and science. But with a tyrannical empire beginning to prepare for a bloody war the signs of turmoil begin to loom on the horizon. Adimir will face numerous challenges. Both challenges to those native to this world, and against other people have come from earth. Author's comment: I'll be uprfont with you on the entire war thing that the description hints at. Yes it will eventually happen, and many of the strange and out of place things in the beginning will tie into that. Not that it will be explained until much later in the novel. In fact the first 100 or 200 chapters will be spent on the main character growing stronger as an adventurer before the entire war even begins to start rearing its ugly head. So for those eager for the war to kick off sorry, but there won't be a big explosive war so early. At least not with the empire (although if you read carefully you may be able to pick up signs of how close the war is with what happens in the story). But the wait (I hope) will be worth it as it will be diving into some of the stuff a otherworlder in a significant position of power could do with the right knowledge. With that little warning over with I hope you enjoy this novel of mine. Its my first actual attempt at writing a story for people to read so please keep that in mind. If you have any criticism please tell me. I'd love to read them and will be using them to help me in improving my writing quality as time goes on. Experience is the best teacher after all.

Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
