Hidden Marriage With My Imperfect CEO Chapter 17

Anya spent quite some time in the bathroom, trying to avoid Aiden. She was wearing one of her overalls which was still pretty good and polished her face with a little make-up. At least, she had to look neater now that she had become a wife.
After she finished preparing, Anya immediately headed to the dining table, finding Aiden already sitting at the table in a neat outfit. Even though Anya had controlled the main bathroom for about an hour today, it seemed like the man was using another bathroom. However, instead of looking annoyed, a faint smile appeared on the man's face when he chatted with Harris and Hana. It looked like the man was in a good mood today.
Anya watched Aiden from a distance. The man was wearing dark clothes as usual. His shirt was dark gray, while a black coat draped neatly behind his chair. His hair was neatly styled and sunglasses framed his eyes.
She walked to the chair beside Aiden where she sat yesterday. Harris and Hana sat opposite them, joined them for today's breakfast. Anya tried to forget her awkwardness even though the smile on her face still felt stiff. However, the existence of Harris and Hana was a big help to her.
The atmosphere at the dining table became more harmonious.
As Anya said, Aiden was indeed in a happy mood. He was happy because he could see Anya since he opened his eyes in the morning. He tried to hide his joy, but it seemed that the joy he felt was too overwhelming for other people not to feel it too.
It was unusual for Harris and Hana to come to breakfast with him. But after seeing Anya's awkwardness at dinner with him yesterday, she thought she needed Harris and Hana's help to break the ice. Moreover, Hana was a woman with a warm personality.

After breakfast was over, Aiden and Harris immediately got up and got ready to go to work.
"I'm going to the office." Aiden said to Anya.
Anya could only nod her head to answer Aiden's words. As if that was their breakup. The atmosphere around them was stiff and awkward.
Having seen the scene, Hana could only shake her head. After Aiden and Harris disappeared from before her, she immediately teased Anya, "Young couples like you should be more affectionate."
Anya smiled shyly as she heard Hana's words, "Ah! We're not used to it like that."
The words came out of her mouth, but Anya could not forget how intimate she and Aiden were last night.
Anya immediately wagged her hand when the thought came to her mind.
'What did I just think? Am I crazy?'
Hana just chuckled when she saw Anya's behavior, as if she knew what Anya was thinking. She was very grateful that Aiden found a woman like Anya. Even though she didn't know Anya completely, she could feel that Aiden's choice was a good woman. And all this time, her intuitions had never been wrong.
Hana seemed to reminisce deeply and said to Anya, "Back then, Mr. Aiden was not this cold. Actually, he is a good man. However, since the accident that happened to him, he is not only paralyzed and blind, but his personality has grown cold…"
Anya gasped when she heard Hana's story, 'Blind?'
Hana was too absorbed in her story, so she didn't notice that Anya was looking at her with disbelief, "After that accident, Mr. Aiden spent all of his time doing physiotherapy and improving his martial arts skills. Fortunately, he was able to walk again. Even though his eyes can't recover, thanks to that martial arts training, his senses have become even more sensitive."

Blind? Anya couldn't believe all this.
Aiden was actually blind? The man didn't look blind at all. He knew everything around him as if he could see it. He looked like a normal person!
However, she remembered the sunglasses that always perched on Aiden's face,'Ah! No wonder he never took off his glasses except in his bedroom. It turned out that those sunglasses were to cover his weakness from the cruel outside world.'
Feelings of guilt and pity were mixed in Anya's heart. She felt guilty for not knowing the burden Aiden was going through, while Aiden always helped solve her problems.
She also felt sorry because the man who was extraordinarily perfect could not see the beauty of this world. She felt that Aiden's fate was so unfortunate that he had to lose his sight.
A feeling of sadness slowly engulfed her. Anya felt guilty because she couldn't do anything to help Aiden even though that man had helped her a lot. From now on, she was determined to do more for Aiden.
Even if he didn't love her, at least this was all she could do as someone who owed him a favor.
Hana stroked Anya's shoulder and tried to give advice as a parent, "Your presence seems to make Mr. Aiden happy. Be patient with the condition. Please don't disappoint him." Hana said softly. She was worried that someday Anya would get tired of having a disabled man as her husband and leave him.
Anya held Hana's hand and assured her, "I will not leave Aiden. Whatever happens." She said with a smile.
Anya didn't love Aiden, but it was not just love that was needed to live together. They could live side by side and help each other even though there was no love between them.
After that, Anya helped Hana to clean up the dirty dishes. Even though Hana refused her help, Anya could not stay silent without doing anything. There was nothing she could do right now, so at least she could help Hana with the housekeeping.
When they were washing the dishes, Anya's cell phone suddenly rang. She immediately dried her hands as she said goodbye to Hana to pick up the call briefly.
Unexpectedly, she saw the words "Dad" on the screen of her cellphone. Surprise and joy filled her heart immediately.
Deny Tedjasukmana was a dignified and cold man. In this world, only wealth and power he cared about. Family seemed to have no place in his heart, especially since he only had a daughter. He had no heir to continue in his footsteps. This made him even more demeaning to the meaning of family.
All this time, Anya always missed her father figure. She always tried to get closer to her father. Sometimes, she would call or come to his house, but her father always said that he was busy. Even if her father could see her, he wouldn't spend much time with her. For Deny, 15 minutes was enough to chat and make small talk with Anya. Her father also didn't care at all when she told him that her mother had fallen ill. Even the man did not want to help her and her mother during their troubles.
There was a feeling of joy that rose in her heart when she found out that her father was looking for her. However, she knew very well that her father had a certain goal. It was impossible for her father, who rarely met her, suddenly looking for her for no reason.
But why was her father looking for her all of a sudden?

The book isn’t done yet. Haha—SLAP!«Who put this guy in the synopsis narration?! Get him out of here and launch the warnings! Now!»***WARNINGS:— The MC is human. If you’re looking for a perfect MC, you’ll only be wasting your time here. However, if you’re looking for an MC who will LEARN, GROW because of his flaws. An MC who will try his hardest to overcome adversity, then you’re in the right place.— No harems. However, it doesn’t mean the characters can’t fool around without having love interests. A relationship isn’t necessary for people to satisfy their physical desires.— You will find a few typos, grammatical and wording issues, that’s certain. I’ll do my best to bring you guys quality content and such issues will either be nonexistent or extremely few. However, one man can only do so much. If I get enough support, I’ll hire an EDITOR that will look at the chaps with a fresh eye. And POOF! Issues no more. Improved quality. Happier author and reader. Not sure if the editor will be happy tho.— The first three chapters are fast-paced as to quickly get into the nitty-gritty but slow down afterward to give the story the time it needs to progress accordingly.— The book can, never mind, it will contain «strong» language, gore and violence.— Comedy, as you know it (and if you don’t, now you know) is subjective. So you might not like the jokes.— If you truly read that until the end you have my virtual congratulations ‘cause I sure as hell wouldn’t have done that.

To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
