Chapter 41: Reversal! Ledda City’s Desperate Counterattack

At this moment, Mike stood before Ledda City’s gates, his back toward the people in the city.

Mike thought to himself, ‘We can’t delay any longer. If this continues, everyone in Ledda City will be buried under artillery fire.’

The people had not had any time to prepare for this indiscriminate bombing.

The entire city was now covered in smoke, its originally magnificent buildings reduced to ruins in an instant.

The survivors were already doing all they could to avoid the bombs. At this moment, they finally realized the truth.

The so-called Palace of Kings.

Whether it was the Palace of the Wind King, the Palace of the Sea King, or the Palace of the Heavenly King, the natives of Miracle had never treated them as partners in the fight against the Exotic Beasts.

“Everyone, look! The sky is on fire!”

Mike casted Rain of Fire at the airship army in the sky.

Karmic flames descended, setting ablaze the floating carriers. Some fell slowly from the sky, leaving a trail of black smoke as they spiralled into the ground. Others were not so lucky.

They exploded immediately in the air. No trace of the pilot, or any passengers could be seen.

The only things that fell from the sky were the broken debris, remains of the airships and scarlet vapor.

Before long, the sky was painted in the color of blood.

Using the last of his strength, the commander of the airships struggled to speak into the walkie-talkie.

“Report… report… we have been attacked by… unknown flames…”

“Mission… failed…”

On the other end of the line, the higher-ups of the Heavenly King Hall listened to the commander’s last words in disbelief.

They were completely unwilling to believe that the airship army, which had been full of vigor just a few minutes ago, would collapse at this moment.

However, seeing that the scene before them now was like hell on Earth, they had no choice but to accept everything that the commander had just said as the truth.

The Overlord-tier Exotic Beast roared at the Earth traitor beside it.

Mike was rapidly closing in on the Overlord Exotic Beasts.

Making his way forward, he’d figured that it was inevitable that some of the high-level Exotic Beasts had escaped Mike’s attack, and were now approaching the city.

Time was short. Mike knew that if he wasted too much time on these small fries, he would miss the opportunity to resolve this battle.

As Mike ran, he opened the world channel in the chat box.

“My fellow citizens from Earth, I am Mike. We are currently facing an unprecedented disaster. I hope that you can pull yourselves together and regain your confidence.

“Defend Ledda City. Don’t let these Exotic Beasts wreak havoc on our land again

“I will put an end to this crisis for everyone. Please believe in me! Wield your courage, and fight back against these damned beasts to the end!

“It’s time for our counterattack!”

Hearing Mike’s passionate words, the people in Ledda City seemed to regain their courage and confidence that had once been lost.

“Trust Mike! Comrades, let’s go!”

“Let’s fight those damn Exotic Beasts!”

“Defend Ledda City! It’s time for us to counterattack!”

Seeing everyone’s rallying words in the world channel, Mike put down his worries, and picked up his pace.

At the city gates of Ledda City, more and more people spontaneously rushed out to fight against the high-level Exotic Beasts.

However, as they put up their desperate resistance, a few shady figures ran out of the city gates.

After having broken through one obstacle after another, Mike finally stood facing the Overlord-tier Exotic Beast.

As he stared it down, he found that it seemed surprisingly familiar.

Yet now, they would choose to stand opposing the Earthlings.

They had helped these Exotic Beasts and Miracle natives to invade and kill their compatriots on Earth.

The leader of the traitors looked terrified when he saw Mike. It seemed as if he had wanted to beg for mercy, but in an instant, a ball of flame reduced him to ashes.

“I’m going to kill these damned Exotic Beasts! And you Earth traitors, your end will only be worse than these invaders!”
