MMORPG: I Can See Hidden Information Chapter 68

"Will I have the chance to return here in the future?"
Fike asked.
"Today will be our first and last meeting."
Fike continued to press on.
"What about Kyle? Does Kyle know about this?"
"He doesn't know that the original god chose you over him."
"Does he know that this place is about to disappear?"
There was a moment's pause before the voice continued.
"He has already sensed the changes occurring here. He has known about it ever since the first time you arrived."
'No wonder Kyle was so eager for me to find the Lightning Core. So that's the case...
'But it's useless. The Lightning Core can only last for a short period of time. Once this place begins to wither, no matter how many Lightning Cores there are, it'll be futile.'
Fike was deep in thought as he continued to ask.
"I understand. Then how should I cultivate this Primordial Power?"
"Cultivating the Primordial Power does not have as many restrictions as cultivating the mystical arts. You may begin now."
The voice continued.
"In the world of Miracle, as the level of a cultivation technique increases beyond a certain point, it grows more similar to ordinary cultivation techniques. There are no restrictions on cultivation.
"Soon, I will be destroyed, along with this place. Now, I will send you back to your world."
The teleportation door appeared once more on the plains, and he began to be sucked in.
The voice sounded once more.
"Please remember the instructions of the original god. Child of Earth, your future will be boundless."
As his words faded, Fike felt his world spin again.
When he could open his eyes again, he found that he had returned to his familiar room.
He looked down. The source spirit in his hand was slowly disintegrating, and cracks were starting to form.

A crisp sound pinged.
The source spirit shattered, its fragments scattering in the air before disappearing.
As he watched, Fike felt his heart filled with mixed emotions.
'So I have to carry the burden of such an important mission on my back?'
He looked at the Primordial Power lying on the ground.
Picking it up, he flipped to the first page.
The contents of the book seemed to be brimming with some kind of magical power, alluringly drawing his attention.
"There are eight levels of Primordial Power. Each level of cultivation and improvement leads to the distance standing between you and godhood shrinking.
"The first level of Primordial Power concerns the divine body. After the first level is completed, you will attain the Body of Vajra, which is similar to the body of a god.
"Once it is attained, the body of the cultivator shall be immortal and indestructible. Unless the soul is scattered, the cultivator will live forever in the world of Miracle."
Fike had a serious look on his face as he scanned through the description of the first level.
He couldn't help but mutter to himself.
"I didn't expect that just by completing the first level, one can obtain such incredible power. Immortal and indestructible..."
Fike continued to flip through the contents of the Primordial Power and began to cultivate according to its instructions.
"Each level of cultivation involves three trials.
"The first stage of the divine physique, the Overlord's Body. After mastering the Overlord's Body, one will be invulnerable to the effects of wind, lightning, fire, rain, and poison."
Fike's excitement quickly grew by a few notches as he urged mana to continuously flow through his body.
A surge of warmth rushed up from his lower abdomen.
As the warmth started to spread, it slowly became hotter and hotter.
The heat quickly became scorching, and soon melted the clothes that had been wrapped around Fike's body.

'No way... is the first stage of cultivation so difficult?'
The temperature rose unceasingly, and the entire room reached beyond boiling point.
At this point, the items in the room were starting to ignite and burn.
Although he sensed it happening, Fike had no way of extinguishing the flames.
He knew that if he stopped now, all the suffering he had already gone through would be wasted, and his efforts would have been in vain.
"Ah-ah-ah!"
The intense heat eroded every inch of his skin, and he felt that his body was burning from the inside out.
'My blood feels like it's on fire!'
Fike's body burned hotter and hotter. It was a heat that burned from the inside out.
It was as if a raging fire had been abruptly thrown into snow.
His body was like the snow, gradually melting, but the fire had no intention of stopping. Instead, it was still getting hotter.
At the same time, he also felt that he was starting to become unable to breathe.
By now, almost everything in Fike's room had been burned to ashes.
'It's almost done, I can feel it!
'Come on, you just have to hold on!'
Just as Fike had been about to complete the Overlord's Body, he heard a series of knocks on the door.
"Hey hey hey! Is the student inside here okay? Why is there a fire?"
Fike heard the shouting, but at this moment, he could not get up to open the door to explain anything.
He could only try to speed up his cultivation.
'Faster, faster!'
Fike was screaming internally.
Suddenly, the knocking on the door stopped.
The voice from outside warned.
"If you don't open the door, I'll have to resort to uncivil methods!"
Just as these words fell, a divine bolt of lightning struck Fike's body.
Fike cried out in pain.
Hearing Fike's scream, the door slammed open.
Fike had succeeded in cultivating the Overlord's Body. He opened his eyes, but fell weakly to the ground.
"Hey, student, what happened to you? How did the entire room become like this?"
Fike saw that the person who had entered was the dormitory manager of the building.
He responded awkwardly.
"Uh... I'm not too sure. I just slept, and when I woke up, it became like this."
Facing Fike's pale expression and implausible explanation, the dorm manager did bother asking too much.
"Alright then, since you're fine, pay the compensation fee. The bed is 50 Romon gold coins..."
Looking at the cute dorm manager, Fike let out a weak smile.
After paying for compensation, the dorm manager brought him to a new room.
"You can stay here for the next few days. After your room is repaired, you can move back!"
Fike thanked her briefly before putting down his luggage in the room.
'That was difficult, but I've mastered the first stage of the Primordial Power. If I meet any stronger Extoic Beasts in the future, I won't die so easily.
'Anyway, I should go take a bath first. I'm covered in sweat!'
After a quick shower, Fike looked at himself in the mirror.
He noticed that there was now a tattoo of a lightning bolt on his left shoulder.
'Is this the mark of the Overlord's Body?'
Fike didn't think too much about it. Instead, he chose to rest.
Tomorrow, he would officially begin his classes at Yogmo Academy.
'I'd better rest early. I don't know if I will be tired tomorrow.'
He lay down, and quickly fell asleep.

A young woman gets thrown into this grimdark world from our own. Will she survive the curveball that gets thrown in her face as she changes into something else? Map created by Maximeplasse This fiction is based on my play-per-post RP that I've run before but with my own take on summoned characters and dungeon settings. At certain points I'll also allow reader decisions if the story gets popular enough. xD It's unrelated to the D&D Theron setting; Telduria I just liked the name and the map when I started up the RP back in the day.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
