Immortal Path To Heaven Chapter 870

"Big Yellow…" Ou Yangming was rather displeased when he called out to the big yellow dog.
Seeing how covetous the fellow was, it did not have a Spiritualist's bearing and was not reserved at all. It was simply showing its nature openly, hence the young fellow could not bear to watch him.
Nonetheless, Ou Yangming knew better that Big Yellow had an unbelievably special feeling toward spiritual items. It had a unique sense toward notable items, and this was something that even the Heavenly Phoenix Fire and the giant head were inferior in.
Since Big Yellow showed such a strange expression at the rainbow flower, it could only mean that it was unordinary.
Ou Yangming pondered for a while then flashed to the side of the rainbow flower.
Before he entered the flowerbed, he had observed carefully and did not find any dangerous trap here, or he would not have acted so rashly.
"Woof…" Big Yellow barked.
Ou Yangming was slightly stunned. When he turned to look, he noticed how reluctant the big yellow dog was to let the flower go.
He asked after some thought, "Big Yellow, is this thing very important to you?"
Big Yellow nodded and stuck out its tongue while it cast a flattering look at Ou Yangming. It spotted this item first, but it knew better that the safest thing for it to do in this weird place was to stay close by the young fellow's side.
Ou Yangming grinned. "Alright, you can have it."
Although Big Yellow could find precious treasures, it rarely yearned for them as much as this. Since it was longing for this rainbow flower, Ou Yangming would not snatch it away from it no matter what it was.
Big Yellow barked excitedly and dashed toward the rainbow flower, then it widened its mouth and pounced on it. When it turned its head, it had bitten off the beautiful flower.
At this moment, Big Yellow looked like the reincarnation of a hungry ghost. Without chewing the rainbow flower at all, it swallowed it just like that.
"Big Yellow, don't be in such a hurry; nobody's stealing it from you." Ou Yangming's eyelids flickered. He paused for a while then added, "Besides, I don't know what this is yet. Ah, you should've let me inspect it first."
The big yellow dog blinked and lowered its head as if it was embarrassed.
Ou Yangming shook his head and looked around the flowerbed, then he flashed and began to collect some of the flowers and herbs.
The plants here were clearly spiritual medicines. Ou Yangming was not an alchemist, but he had some understanding of alchemy and herbs.
He could not become an excellent alchemist from reading ancient books in the Beast King Sect, but they were enough to make him gain some basic knowledge of herb collection.

Instead of destroying the herbs during his collection, he only collected those that had matured. Even so, he gained a huge harvest after just one round.
All of a sudden, Ou Yangming's ears twitched, and he turned to look at Big Yellow.
Big Yellow was laying on the ground and was sticking out its tongue to breathe heavily. It was always squinting its eyes as though it was enduring immense pain.
Ou Yangming's face changed, and he exclaimed, "Big Yellow, what's… Happening to you?" He began to think and quickly understood what might have happened. "That flower?"
Big Yellow's head moved subtly.
The young fellow twitched his mouth and felt rather regretful. In actuality, he had the time and ability to stop the big yellow dog from devouring the rainbow flower just now.
Nevertheless, Big Yellow never made a mistake when it judges untypical flowers and herbs before this, so Ou Yangming had the conception where anything that the big yellow dog wanted to eat was not bad.
Judging from the situation at the moment, it seemed like the rainbow flower was an exception.
He reached out to brush Big Yellow's body gently and released his mental power.
After a brief moment, a look of confusion could be seen in his eyes. This was because he realized from inspecting with his mental power that while Big Yellow looked like it was in pain, its vitality became indescribably strong.
A special change seemed to be happening to the big yellow dog, causing its life force to be strengthened.
Despite that, Ou Yangming never encountered anything like this before. It was never recorded in ancient books.
Just as he was feeling helpless, Big Yellow suddenly widened its eyes and got up. It shook its body and opened its mouth to let out a deafening roar.
Its roar sounded fierce and overbearing like never before, to the extent that Ou Yangming had goosebumps and shuddered as well.
Big Yellow seemed to have transformed into an ancient beast, by which it was releasing an irresistible prestige.
Ou Yangming looked dumbfoundedly at the big yellow dog, which seemed to be more frightening than King Kong at this time.
Having said that, Big Yellow only remained in the state for a split second. It left the state after that like a deflated rubber ball.
The big yellow dog shook its head as if it had just woken up from a dream. "Lil' Ming, what's wrong?"
Ou Yangming calmed himself down and questioned the dog instead, "Big Yellow, what happened after you swallowed the rainbow flower?"
"I have no idea either." Big Yellow tilted its head and answered innocently, "I can sense that I benefited greatly from it, but I can't be sure what exactly it is."

The young fellow took a deep breath and looked snappily at the fellow.
'This fella's probably the only one that can be so reckless, but it seems like what it did was effective.'
Even though Ou Yangming could not tell what special change had occurred to Big Yellow, he had a feeling that the rainbow flower's power had not been fully released. The power was being accumulated inside the big yellow dog's body and would probably surprise it if it burst out one day.
Needless to say, the unordinary enhancement would definitely be accompanied by great danger. Ou Yangming did not want to lose his partner without reason.
"Big Yellow, from now onward, follow me closely and don't leave me no matter what," Ou Yangming noted seriously after some thought.
Ou Yangming was not aware of the rainbow flower's magical effects and could not be sure if he would be helpful by the time the power burst out. However, he must not let Big Yellow face it alone, thus it would be good for him to stay by its side.
Big Yellow blinked and seemed to have sensed the seriousness of the matter when it saw the grave look on Ou Yangming's face. It nodded hard and responded, "Okay, I understand. I won't act alone and will surely stick to you or King Kong… Hey? Why hasn't King Kong come down yet?"
"If King Kong could come down here, it would've come long ago." Ou Yangming looked speechlessly at the slow Big Yellow. He paused for a moment before he continued, "There's a bizarre power here, and it seems like those with… That power can activate the passage and come inside."
Big Yellow froze. "That… Power."
Ou Yangming nodded sternly. They had grasped that power, but they knew very well how fearsome it was, so they were also fearful when they brought it up.
The young fellow patted his clothes and looked around before he said, "Let's see if we can find anything good around here."
Big Yellow turned to look at the peculiar flowers and herbs and asked, "Are we not going to take these away?"
Ou Yangming could not help but laugh. "I've collected enough of them. If we leave the seeds here, we might be able to harvest more in the future."
Big Yellow replied to him after some thought, "You're right. Let's come back again when the next batch is fully grown."
The young fellow nodded with a smile but thought, 'God knows when they'll be fully grown again. We don't even know if we can find this place again next time…'
That said, he did not think about destroying the flowers and herbs when he collected them.
He was content with his harvest.
Big Yellow twitched its nose and suddenly had a strange look on its face. "Lil' Ming, let's go there."
Ou Yangming was surprised. "What's good over there?"
"I don't know, and it's really odd." Big Yellow looked puzzled. "I can feel that something's calling out to me there, but why didn't I feel this before?"
The young fellow was moved. "Do you only feel it now that you consumed the rainbow flower?"
Big Yellow's eyes lit up. "Yes, that's right."
Ou Yangming thought, 'That rainbow flower's unusual indeed. I must be more careful.' He nodded and said to the big yellow dog, "Alright, let's go."
With that, Big Yellow transformed into a yellow light and zoomed away. Nonetheless, it knew how dangerous this place was, so it was always on guard.
The dog and the human advanced without any hesitation.
Before long, Ou Yangming had a grim look on his face. He noticed that the more they advanced, the more he could sense enormous oppression.
It seemed like a terrifying being was there, and he was releasing his prestige.
That being said, what surprised Ou Yangming more was how the 2 mighty powers in his sea of consciousness reacted differently to this pressure.
The Heavenly Phoenix Fire burned and released its scorching light to warn the young fellow.
On the contrary, the giant heart floated. Instead of warning Ou Yangming of the potential danger, it was yearning for the pressure.
Ou Yangming knew very well that the pressure ahead was probably related to the Dragons, which had vanished for years.
This was proven by how dissimilarly the powers of the Dragons and the Phoenixes reacted toward the pressure.
At the spur of the moment, Big Yellow, which was moving forward, halted and turned to look at Ou Yangming, who was following closely behind it.
Ou Yangming looked ahead and noticed a gigantic corner. The horrifying pressure was released from after this corner.
The human and the dog looked at each other with excitement, fear, and also anticipation.
Perhaps the mystery would soon be solved.
Ou Yangming took a deep breath and nodded hard at Big Yellow. They flashed almost at the same time and arrived at the corner.
Subsequently, they saw a skeleton—a massive pitch-black skeleton that exceeded their imaginations...

The novel has a strong focus on politics and kingdom building, with occasional action and a bit of humor. Have fun. Cover was made by MrZombie Updates three times a week.
