I Did Many Dangerous Things After Knowing When I Would Die Chapter 2

Blake was stunned.
It was a haunted cemetery...
Sleeping in a haunted cemetery?
What kind of awful mission was this?
No, wait!
After completing the mission... He could delay his death for a week?
Blake's eyes lit up with hope.
A top-class luxury car? Blake didn't even give it the slightest thought!
Luxury cars were undoubtedly tempting, but they could only be driven and enjoyed if one were alive!
To a person who only had one day left to live, naturally, he couldn't be bothered with all of these material things.
His attention was focused solely on the matter of delaying his approaching date of death!
"System, just to be sure, will I really be able to delay my death by completing the mission?"
[ Ding! As long as the host completes the corresponding mission, you will receive the corresponding mission reward! Fair and square. Host, please do not doubt the authority of the system! ]
This overbearing, commanding tone... seemed somehow reliable and trustworthy.
Blake let out a sigh of relief.
Regardless, spending a night in the haunted cemetery...
Truthfully, he wasn't afraid, for he also craved the secret of the strange cemetery.
Yet even a professional adventure blogger had been killed!
With this 18-year-old body, would he even be able to withstand this expedition?
"System, are you sure that embarking for this journey empty-handed would suffice?" he thought to himself.
Blake's unrest must have been heavy, as the system seemed to have caught his thoughts.
[ Host, in every hidden mission assigned to you, the system will designate the appropriate equipment needed to assist you. If you accept this mission, there will also be exploration equipment provided! ]
Hmm?
Exploration equipment?
Upon hearing this, Blake's eyes brightened up instantaneously!
Since that was the case, he felt the immense burden lifting off his shoulders and confidently declared, "System, I accept the mission!"
[ Ding! Detected that the host has accepted the mission. The mission equipment is now being distributed... ]
[ Ding! The equipment for this mission is as follows: ]
[ 1. The Spirit Treasure Mirror Backpack! ]
[ Description of the backpack: It contains over a hundred different types of rare apparatus that can solve paranormal incidents. Among these are the Yin-Yang Eye, the evil-warding cross, the ghost-seeking compass, the obsidian carving knife... ]
[ Remarks: the host is able to carry all these items concurrently. When you need it, recite the name of the wanted equipment in your heart and you will be able to take it out from the backpack. ]
[ 2. The Awakening Pill! ]
[ Description of its ability: after consuming this pill, the host's spiritual power will increase by 300%. The host will feel refreshed and will receive immunity against evil. Any illusion-based attacks will be ineffective against the host! ]
...
As the notifications reverberated in his ears, Blake gradually became more excited and eager to start!
Spirit Treasure Mirror Backpack...
Awakening Pill...
Good stuff!
They're all really good stuff!
Blake observed the equipment being distributed by the system with a smile slowly spreading across his face.
With all of these equipment, Blake felt his confidence soar tremendously; success had never been more apparent.
...
Meanwhile, as he was absorbed in the joy of counting the pieces of equipment, he failed to associate himself with the current ambiance of the classroom. A classmate, who was babbling about the unfortunate news of Jack London a few tables away, caught a glimpse of Blake in the far corner of the classroom, smiling without a care...
Initially, the atmosphere had been a little despondent due to the nature of the news they received. They were currently speculating about what the investigation team sent by the authorities would encounter in their investigation tonight.
However, Blake actually lowered his head and grinned...
The classmate instantly felt goosebumps spreading through his limbs upon the sight of Blake and his freaky behavior!
Then, trembling, he stretched out a finger and pointed toward Blake.
"That, that, that..."
"Huh?"
Everyone looked over to the direction of which the finger was pointed to, puzzled, and found that Blake was actually sequestered in a corner and laughing alone.
Immediately, fear snaked through the students in the classroom, inducing a frantic commotion!
"F*ck! Blake! What's wrong with you? Such a big issue has happened, and you're laughing?"
"Blake, are you possessed? What the hell are you laughing about? You almost scared me to death!"
"Phew! Please, Blake, stop being creepy."
Many students voiced their complaints and discomfort. Unquestionably, Blake's smile had stirred feelings of jitters and unease among his classmates.

Blake, on the other hand, shrugged his shoulders in embarrassment after realizing that his laughter had frightened everyone and put on another smile.
"I'm sorry, everyone. It's just that an interesting story caught my attention. What were you guys talking about again? An official expedition team?" Blake inquired, feigning confusion.
Realizing that he probably had not caught up with the terror that everyone was feeling, they attempted to sow horror and distress in him with the whole story of the haunted cemetery and the girl clad in red, only to be met with disappointment from Blake's lack of a fearful reaction.
Instead, he seemed suspiciously eager about all of this.
"Really? The official expedition team will go tonight? This is too exciting! It would be great if I joined too!"
"Ah, that..."
When everyone heard this, their faces were filled with shock.
'Blake... Could this guy be putting on an act? What was he playing at?
'Lives could be lost in this expedition!
'Just a few moments ago, David definitely mentioned that there's something really amiss with that place!
'And you still want to go?
'Are you tired of going through life for 18 years and you want to reduce your lifespan?'
Such were the words of the students who were mocking him in their hearts.
When David heard Blake's confident and arrogant words, he smirked and said, "Blake, if you really want to go, I can help you.
"One of my uncle's brothers is among the leaders of the expedition team.
"After the incident, the higher-ups imposed upon him a strict order, that he must bring more than ten people to the expedition team today.
"However, he stated that many people were unwilling to go because it was too strange. They were unable to recruit the last remaining member and the spot is still available.
"If you really want to go, why don't I introduce you to my uncle's brother?"
David smiled mockingly. Though, what he said was true.
However, the real purpose of his words at this moment was not to invite Blake, but to simply direct his resentment towards Blake for stealing his limelight in the classroom.
He had hoped that this method would embarrass Blake.
Many students in the class had also caught onto David's original intention. They all smiled spitefully as they waited for Blake to be humiliated.
However, to everyone's surprise, after Blake heard David's suggestion, his eyes brimmed with excitement.
"Really? David, it's as if you've read my mind! You're really able to arrange it for me? This is great! When do we leave? I can head home and prepare right now if you'd like!"
David was left utterly speechless at his audacity, and the entire classroom followed suit with their appalled expressions.
'Holy sh*t! This kid is serious!
'Is he really looking to die?'
The entire class instantly fell silent, and everyone shifted their gaze toward David.
His smile was now frozen. He had never expected that this kid, Blake, would actually agree!
This...
"Hahaha... Blake, are you sure you're not joking? Why don't you think about it again?"
David fumbled impatiently and braced himself, hoping that Blake would retract what he had said.
"Of course I'm not joking! David, why are you stuttering? Could it be that you're... just making it up? You can't even let me join the expedition team?"
Blake asked with a face full of doubt.
When David heard this, his face flushed red as he hurriedly retorted, "Of course I'm telling the truth! It's just... I'm just worried about your safety! Just so you know, if anything happens to you, it has nothing to do with me! Oh right, when you join an exploration team, you have to sign a contract of life and death. When the time comes, don't regret it!"
"I definitely won't regret it, I swear."
Blake smiled and put up his right hand in the form of a pledge to swear.
"Then... give me a moment, I'll tell my uncle right now," David stuttered. He turned around to pick up his phone and ran out of the classroom.
The students in the classroom stared at the relaxed, unfazed Blake with their eyes wide open.
'This kid is crazy!
'He's definitely crazy!'

The Hunt
Cecily's blade swung, hitting its mark as always. The man's arm fell to the cold grass of the prison with a familiar thud. He let out a blood curdling scream. A warning to the rest. Stay away, the Hunter is here. That's the name they'd given her, the Hunter. After she cut off the man who tried to rape hers masculinity, they stayed away. She'd made it clear anyone who tried to touch her would be hunted and slaughtered. Cecily kneeled down, pushing the man's face into the dirt so she could use his back as a seat while she trifled through his belongings. "You're hurting my ears," she told him, no remorse in her voice. "Quiet down before I really do kill you."The man but his lip, well aware that she wasn't lying. Sobs shook him, making for an uncomfortable seat. She, however, didn't particularly feel the beed to kill him. It happened, not often, but it did. "Oh, hush up," she hissed, taking out a bag of rations with her metal hand, "it doesn't hurt that bad."With her good, human hand, she dropped the plastic bag of food into her own bag. She pushed up, off the man back. As she was about to walk away, bag slung over her shoulder, brushing against her autumn colored braid, she turned back to him. "Consider yourself lucky," she said, no hatred in her voice, there never was. "Consider yourself lucky that you didn't do anything stupid. And even luckier if one of the scum bagged criminals in here feel a little light in their hearts and help you. Consider yourself luckier if you die there."With that, her old black and white Nike sneakers carried her off into the brush of the huge prison.
