Monster Paradise Chapter 50
Full scale assault by the monster horde.
Yi Yeyu and the other hunters were dismayed by the news.
After finally getting a chance to relax, no one expected such nightmarish news.
With the nearby strongholds gone, the attention of the those 3 hordes will now turn to this stronghold. The amount of invading monsters would increase by at least 4 times.
The hunters knew this too, and they weren’t happy about it.
“Any ideas? Lin Huang.” Zhou Le asked after calming himself down with a deep breath.
Lin Huang helplessly shook his head, “We have no choice but to face it head on and pray the human transcendent can get here faster.”
Night fell and the hunters’ morale fell even further but they still had to grit their teeth and carry on defending the canyon to the death.
At 9 pm, Yi Zheng heard a strange sound softly echoing in the distance, and from the sound of it, it was rapidly approaching the canyon.
His enhanced eyesight not only allowed him to see as well as he could in the day, he could even see a great distance away. He spotted the giant monster horde from a great distance away. However, he was unable to discern their identities. This was due to the dust cloud kicked up by the trembling ground as the monsters marched forward.
Soon, all the hunters in the canyon were able to detect the tremors from the horde as well.
Lin Huang could only imagine the sheer numbers required to cause such a quake.
Without wasting anymore time, Yi Zheng immediately turned to the hunters. He knew that if he allowed the morale to drop any further, the defensive would most likely fall. He raised his voice and addressed them.
“Everybody, the monsters from the other strongholds are rushing towards us at this moment. I’m sure everyone is aware of the tremors underneath them. The waves will only get more intense from here on out because we are the last stronghold standing. That transcendent will not stop till it has wiped out our strongholds so we have no choice but to fight. Fight to Death! There’s no other choice.”

“It’s currently 9:23 pm; the Association previously sent word that their transcendent will arrive within 48 hours. There are 9 hours left before we reach the 48 hours mark. Which means we only need to hold out for 9 more hours and we will be saved.”
“ The hunter the Association has dispatched is someone everyone should be acquainted with. His name is Yu Chan Li, a hunter who was ranked 4th several years ago in the 7th District’s Gold Hunter ranking board. He is also a Beastmaster. Given that transcendent monster’s injuries, it’s defeat is guaranteed once Yu Chan Li arrives. At that time, the horde will automatically disperse.”
“As for the other strongholds, what’s done is done. This is not the time to grieve for them. We need to focus; only 9 more hours! Only by holding out for 9 more hours, will the 200,000 residents behind us, survive! We need to fight! Fight so that all of us, including the residents will be able to live!”
Yi Zheng’s speech had its desired effect. Perhaps it was because of the word Beastmaster or perhaps it was because of the clear goal of 9 hours being put before them, but either way they were clearly roused.
Even Lin Huang was infected by this mood change; he murmured to himself , ‘Only 9 more hours and then it will all be over!”
After raising their morale, Yi Zheng turned back to the incoming horde. One of the leading monster packs was a herd of Iron Hide Elephants. While they belonged to the beast family, their body were monstrously big.
Each of them had a shoulder height of over 10 metres which could only be described as titanic. Even the Three-Stars BlackIron Tyrant seemed like a child in front of these titans.

The Iron Hide elephants were clad in metallic plates from their snout up to their hips. Even their heads were the same, they were fully wrapped in metallic plates except for two eye holes and their ears. However, these plates weren’t an external object but something they were born with.
These monsters possessed a half metallic skeletal structure which gave them defensive abilities unlike any other monster.
His brows furrowed as he saw these elephants charging. They were an immense threat to the defensive wall. Their mass and strength could easily destroy their boulder wall and once that happened, the monster horde would immediately swarm in.
“Yeyu take care of this place, I’ll go handle those demonic elephants!” He gave her a simple instruction as he took out his thin sword.
His flowing white robes fluttered in the wind as he gracefully leaped off the giant boulder and landed on a monster’s head. Using their heads as stepping stones, he swiftly made his way to the elephants.
She quietly saw her brother off into the distance. She was confident, that with his strength, no one except that transcendent monster could pose a threat to him.
While these elephants were enormous, their combat strength mostly hovered around the BlackIron and CopperBlue realm; very rarely were there any White Silver ranked elephants. As such, they naturally posed no threat to Yi Zheng.
By now, Yi Zheng had already charged into the herd of elephants. With a swing of his sword, a golden sword wave flew out and pierced an Elephant’s head.
In a blink of an eye, over a hundred elephants were massacred.
Having finished his mission, he immediately retreated. He knew these elephants were only the beginning and that more were on their way.
Returning to his giant boulder once more, he stood there cross armed as if nothing had happened.
Opposite him, Yi Yeyu gave him a thumbs up. He turned around and returned a smile.
A short while later, a new monster pack appeared but the pair didn’t have to sortie.
These monsters didn’t possess the ability to break the wall so they left them be.
As time passed, wave after wave of monsters started arriving and the grasslands soon turned into a sea of monsters.
Yi Zheng attempted an area of effect attack to clean up the mobs below him but he suddenly heard a rustling sound behind him,
He turned around and saw atop the snow mountain peak, a dense black cloud. It was extremely conspicuous among the snowy whiteness as it approached them.
Noticing Yi Zheng’s gaze, Yi Yeyu turned around as well and let out a horrified gasp, “Aren’t they Desert Arachnids?! I hate spiders!”
Yi Zheng’s face cramped up as he heard this, “Arachnophobia isn’t the main problem here! It’s how are we going to deal with these incoming spiders!”

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.

El's Revenge
“Revenge is not for the dead- we, as the living, take revenge to relieve the burden we feel,” I whispered into the air. “Salvation for the people who suffered because of you,” I watched as the city burned in the flames. “Salvation for the people like me, who believed in the proclaimed heroes when in reality they were the devils.” I smiled faintly as the ‘holy land’ of those ‘saints’ was destroyed. I heard rustling sounds as Charlotte came to stand next to me, grabbing my hand. “El, are we the bad guys?” If I was still the same as I was before, I might’ve broken down and started crying. Now, it was different. “A villain is just another victim. They cry and mourn, it’s just that no one heard, leading them into madness. It’s one of the reasons why we know the most, but care the least.” I took a deep breath. “We may be the bad guys in other peoples’ eyes, but in my story, we’re the heroes.” Charlotte took in my words for a while and pondered, before nodding in agreement. “As children, we loved the heroes, as adults we understand the villains.” I looked at her and bonked her on the head, earning an angry glare from her. “Hey! You’re barely an adult yourself you know,” she grumbled. I laughed and ruffled her hair, before countering her. “At least I’m not 12. You can’t even be considered a teenager at that age.” After that, we silently watched the flames ravage the land, before leaving.
