Qin Gengxin rushed to the Central Hospital and walked quickly through a corridor that was filled with the smell of disinfectants, ignoring the people around him as if they never entered his sight.

When he asked the nurses about Qin Wenqian and Xian Guiying, the answer was indeed as Wu Boqin said. Every staff member there had absolutely no idea about the location of both of them.

"Mr. Qin, this is the ward that Qin Wenqian once stayed in, but there is another patient here and you can't enter. I still have some work to do, so I'll go first." A nurse said as she pointed to the window. She looked at him nervously before running away.

Standing outside the ICU door, Qin Gengxin's eyes stared straight at the patient who was fast asleep, as if he could see his daughter's small body lying there not long ago.

He paused for a moment before forcibly turning his face away. Then, he turned and walked the other way with a quick step.

The speed of his footsteps was not necessarily like that of someone who hadn't undergone surgery. He immediately opened the door to the doctor's office.

"From this CT scan, your father's brain --"

There was a patient's family sitting across from Wei Shanyuan's desk. He was holding a CT scan in the air. The door to the office was suddenly pushed open loudly, causing the patient's family to look toward the door in shock.

Wei Shanyuan also looked up. When he saw Qin Gengxin, the corners of his eyes twitched.

"You are Wei Zhengsheng's cousin? The doctor who treated my daughter, Qin Wenqian?" Qin Gengxin refused to enter. He didn't see the patient's family members at all. His eyes stared straight at Wei Shanyuan. The eyes turned a little cold.

Wei Shanyuan looked at him, then put down the CT scan in his hand and said to the patient's family, "I'm sorry, there are some things I have to do here. You go to your father's room first, I will meet you later to discuss about your father's condition."

The patient's family member was a woman in her twenties. She stared blankly at the handsome man who came in. Upon hearing Wei Zhengsheng's words, she nodded awkwardly. "Oh, well, thank you, Doctor Wei."

After that, she hurriedly stood up and glanced at Qin Gengxin as she walked past him. However, worried about her father's illness, she hurried to leave the office.

Qin Gengxin stood there expressionless. Wei Shanyuan held the Ct scan in his hand and looked at him. "Take a seat."

Qin Gengxin didn't want to sit down, he came here because he wanted an answer. Wei Shanyuan smiled innocently, though his expression was a bit cold. The two of them were staring at each other before Qin Gengxin walked over and placed the death certificate in front of him.

Wei Shanyuan looked down at the death certificate he had signed. His expression didn't change much, but he gave a faint smile. "What do you mean by this, Mr. Qin?"

"If I remember correctly, among the people who got off by the ambulance that day, you were one of them. Since you are Wei Zhengsheng's brother, you must have known Xian Guiying. Dr. Wei, my wife and daughter disappear into the thin air right in front of you. You are the last person to see them."

Qin Gengxin looked at him indifferently, his dark and cold eyes carrying faint traces of probing.

Wei Shanyuan smiled and stood up slowly before saying, "What? Miss Xian disappeared into the air? How come I didn't know about this?"

Seeing Qin Gengxin's cold eyes, Wei Shanyuan grinned, "But Mr. Qin still refused to show up even though his daughter was in danger. He didn't come to the hospital to visit her until the child was gone and he had the nerve to come here, asking about this? I never knew you were such a shameless person."

"Are you sure about the validity of my daughter's death certificate?" Qin Gengxin was unaffected by Wei Shanyuan's sarcastic remarks, he just narrowed his eyes.

Wu Boqin had seen the death certificate before and he also said that from the signature on the certificate and the procedure it went through, this certificate could not be forged.

However, Qin Gengxin personally did not see Qin Wenqian's body. No matter what, he won't believe that his daughter had died just like that!

In the thirty-two years he had lived, despite knowing the fragility of life, there were still traces of uncertainty and hope in the depths of his heart.

He knew what Qin Wenqian's death meant to him and Xian Guiying.

Wei Shanyuan laughed, "I don't understand Mr. Qin's words. Do you think that the Central Hospital treats children's lives as children's games?"

Qin Gengxin looked at him and said, "Let's cut this nonsense. Can Doctor Wei tell me which funeral home my daughter was sent to?"

"Mr. Qin, I am a doctor, but not a babysitter. Once a patient dies, it will be a family member's responsibility in handling the corpse to the funeral home. If the family member also didn't know her whereabouts, what do you expect from me?" Wei Shanyuan scoffed.

Although on the outside Wei Shanyuan seemed to be polite, Qin Gengxin still could feel the ridicule and disdain from his expression and tone.

For a moment, Qin Gengxin found himself completely isolated from Xian Guiying's world. Either the Xian Family, or the tightly-closed lips Xian Zihao, or Wei Shanyuan who might have known of Xian Guiying's whereabouts.

Qin Gengxin held the death certificate on the table tightly, his eyes were cold and persistent. Even so, Wei Shanyuan had a disapproving expression on his face, as if he was already prepared not to say a word.

"How was she for a few days when I didn't come to the hospital?" Qin Gengxin suddenly asked in a low voice after so long.

Wei Shanyuan looked at him coldly with a mocking smile hanging from the corner of his mouth. "Mr. Qin, do you think she can still live with that kind of condition?"

"Dr. Wei" Qin Gengxin put the death certificate in his hand and looked at him seriously. "I, Qin Gengxin, have never begged anyone in my life."

Wei Shanyuan raised his eyebrow.

"Please tell me where Guiying and my daughter are."

Wei Shanyuan didn't say anything. He only looked at him for a moment and then said lightly, "Mr. Qin, do you really think something that was wrong and messy from the beginning, after finally being cut by a sharp knife, can be connected again?"

Qin Gengxin didn't answer but just looked at him, waiting for his answer.

However, Wei Shanyuan took the death certificate on the table and put it back in his hand.

He said indifferently, "Mr. Qin, take care. I won't send you off."

Qin Gengxin slowly took the death certificate and left the office. Outside the hospital window, the rain had turned into heavy rain. The sound of rain hitting the leaves interweaved in every corner and made Qin Gengxin's heart in turmoil. He looked up at the sky with a blank face.

No one knew what he was thinking.
