Inhuman Warlock Chapter 277

Veracity glared at Lucifer as she sighed. She didn't want him to jump to his death since he was Zale's son, but he was too stubborn. She didn't know what she could do to help him.
"Fine. Do what suits you," she ultimately said, rolling her eyes as she stood up and left.
Cassius was also finding himself in a complicated position. This thing was getting bigger than he expected. But he couldn't do anything. Now that he was in it, he needed to stick around.
At least until Lucifer finished his revenge. He believed Lucifer was going to go back to normal life after that, not realizing that Lucifer's mind wasn't on revenge anymore.
He didn't understand that Lucifer didn't want revenge now. Instead, he wanted the whole world now.
He also stood up as he left, carrying his sword.
Lucifer remained alone on the couch, having his eyes closed. He didn't sleep though.
'Two Warlock Kings, huh. They're not much. I want to play this game with many more. This is just the start. I'll have to go against more than you all can imagine.'
' It doesn't matter if you stick with me after we're done here, but I'll finish what I started,' he thought as he turned his body sideways and actually fell asleep.
...
A red haired man was lying on a white bed. A machine was measuring his heartbeats and his ECG.
A woman was also sitting here in a nurse outfit.
The red haired man laid unmoving as if he was deep asleep. The machine showed a stable heartbeat.
No matter who saw the red haired man, they would have thought that it was a person who was sleeping, but only the people here knew that it wasn't the case.
The man hadn't moved in the last eight years as he was in a coma after getting in a clash with someone. Most of his injuries had healed long ago, but he still hadn't woken up.

Throughout these years, a maid was constantly left here to take care of him. There were also doctor visits every day since the red haired man wasn't any ordinary person. He was the Captain of the APF Delta Squad, Xander.
The nurse had stayed here for eight years, just looking at the unmoving man. She had grown tired of seeing the man for so long, but she couldn't do anything else. In the end, she could only bear with it.
"I don't get it. Why don't they give up on him? It's not like he's going to wake up. He hadn't woken up for so long. It's just a waste of resources," the dark-haired maid said, sighing.
She stood up and started walking back and forth, extremely bored.
As she had her back towards the red haired man, the man laid motionless. His hands were resting on the white bedsheet, which was spotlessly clean.
His hand that was unmoving for years had a cannula inserted in it which was connected to a bag at the top which seemed to have a colorless liquid.
In the silence of the room, only the footsteps of the maid could be heard as she walked back and forth.
Amidst her hasty movement, the maid didn't notice that the finger of the man slightly moved. It was so brief that it was hard to notice.
...
Kensington city had a playground where kids used to play football. It was a big area that was covered in grass but was mostly empty.
The grass in the field was still wet as it had just suffered through heavy rain. There were even puddles of water at places.
Suddenly the grass started moving as heavy winds appeared. The water could be seen vibrating as a helicopter landed on top of the grass.

The doors of the helicopter slid open before a group of two stepped out.
A bulky man could be seen in the lead. His pink hair waved with the wind as he stepped out of the helicopter. A spotless white robe was covering his shoulder.
Following behind him was a man who looked even bulkier. His long hair seemed to be a darker shade of grey.
He seemed to be wearing a jacket made of animal fur. Both the men had tattoos on their faces, but the pink haired man seemed more refined, unlike the second, who looked like a Viking.
"It looks like there was rain recently," the dark haired man said, noticing the wet grass.
"That seems to be the case. I wonder if there was more black lightning or not. We'll see," Riali told Arne.
"Let's go and start investigating. Maybe we'll be able to find something," he further said as he started walking towards the nearby street.
"This is very interesting," he said as he stopped on the street at the sight of a crater.
He went down as he touched the crater that was already filled with water for the most part.
" You think it might be because of the lightning?" Arne asked as he also noticed it. There was no similar crater nearby though.
"Possible. But it feels like it happened only recently," Riali said, frowning. "The surface is still hot."
He stood up, patting his head as he looked around. People had just started coming out of their houses as the sky was clear now.
Most of the citizens seemed worried. Some of them were talking to each other while the rest were looking at the sky.
Arne and Riali approached the men to listen in on their conversation.
"It happened again! Is it going to happen every day now? What is happening with our city? Why does black lightning fall here daily now? Is the god trying to punish us for something?"
"I'm just as confused. There shouldn't be rains at this time of the year, but they happened two days straight. This doesn't seem ordinary. I think this city isn't safe for us to live in anymore."
"What can we even do? We can't just abandon the city? Our livelihood is here."
"We can't die here either! Haven't you seen the craters in the city? They're the effects of the black lightning. How long do you think it will be before one such fall on our houses? We've been lucky that it hasn't already!"
"That's right. As long as we have our life, we have everything! We can't stay in the city!"
"I agree. I've decided to move."
"I'll move too."
"Me too!"
"But guys...."
"No! If you want to stay, then you can stay. I'm not putting my family and myself in danger!"
"That's right. We're leaving. It was good as long as it lasted, but now this city isn't for us."

Cultivating Earth [Hiatus]
[This fiction is on indefinite hiatus. I'm currently acting as a 24-hour caregiver for my step-father who had a massive heart attack. I apologize for disappearing so quickly, but sometimes that's just life. I'll return as soon as possible. Sorry everyone!] Zhao Gang, after hundreds of thousands of years cultivating, has finally reached the penultimate threshold. He is ready to ascend to the level of True Immortal. Driven by the need for a place his enemies won't find him, Zhao Gang puts together an audacious plan. He has developed a revolutionary new formation which will allow him to ascend while on even the lowest planes. To avoid drawing attention, he has to choose a plane that is relatively desolate, however. He chooses Earth. Fast forward three thousand years. Zhao Gang discovers what his work has wrought - a cultivation-free culture that has delved the deep mysteries of creation - he can't help but think how this tiny little planet devoid of natural energy could affect the course of all creation. There's only one problem. For that to happen, he has to succeed in cultivating Earth. Notes: Chinese names should be ignored in the social context - they don't mean anything. Sorry for slaughtering such a beautiful tradition. This novel starts off slower than most. If the slow-roll isn't your thing, you might want to give this a pass. If it's not for you, I understand. Also, releases may be broken up into smaller chunks. The goal is 5k words, but definitely more than 4k. If you see a short release, be aware that more is probably coming. I'll be honest and say that I'm struggling with each new scene, if only because I want to balance the scope of vision with good pacing. I hope the work I put into it is worthwhile.

The New God’s Representative
I was given a one-a-trillion chance opportunity to reincarnate into a fantasy world by a god. I can see my Status as if I were an RPG character. And running with the RPG theme, my main Quest in this world is to become its strongest entity or titular God. A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!
