Inside Shadowslash's dantian LS was looking at the hundreds of Primordial Rune Scarabs flying in the battlefield with interest.

Too bad he was told not to go out even though he has a powerful aura that could help deter weak willed individuals or those that have dragon bloodline it wouldn't work against these strong willed soldiers that are ready to die in the name of their clan.

Especially now that Shadowslash is considered the main target of the enemy at the present.

The Primordial Rune Scarabs were mowing down the enemies but because of the Xiantian Realm experts in the enemy's side their pace have decreased but judging from their situation it seems that the Aqua Race Clan wouldn't be able to stop them.

"Protect the lord!" Suddenly the soldiers from the beastman side have recovered from their stupor as their first reaction was to protect Shadowslash.

Immediately the Xiantian Realm experts in their side flew towards Shadowslash while the rest either ride their mounts or ran towards the enemies to intercept them.

The Ancient Jewel Scarabs and the Corpse Eating Scarabs also started devouring those that tried to chase after Shadowslash but because of their strength they aren't able to stop all of the enemies.

Some of the Corpse Eating Scarabs were killed as they are too weak and couldn't stop an all out attack coming from a Xiantian Realm experts.

While the two forces once again clashed Shadowslash who was the main character in this battlefield felt a foreboding sense ringing on his instinct.

Without any warning someone or something hit him in the side of his chest as he was thrown to the ground with an explosion.

The ground that he crashed on cracked as he spat out blood because of the attack.

He couldn't help but curse his luck as he knew that the one who attacked him is either an elite just like Gongniu Jinde or a powerful Xiantian King expert.

Suddenly he felt something latching on his body. The feeling that the thing latching on him gave him were the feeling of a tentacle.

A creepy laughter was heard behind him as it spoke "Little fellow I got you now!"

Shadowslash let's out a roar as he tried to break free but it's futile, He was startled that someone could actually sneak up on him considering how powerful and sensitive his spiritual sense is.

'LS!' With his will he immediately calls LS for help suddenly his entire being emits a

powerful dragon prestige that froze the battlefield momentarily.

But for him it was all the time he needed to escape with a roar he used his nine tails to hit the person that was holding him before flying away.

But just as he was flying away he felt a sudden weakness assaulting him without even thinking he knew he was poisoned.

'Sh*t!' He couldn't help but inwardly curse as he slumps into the ground once again paralysed and unable to move.

He willed his dragon Qi to burn the poison away but he realized that the poison is just too domineering.

The creepy laughter was once again heard as a mocking voice spoke "Little fellow do you really think that you could escape my hands? Heh! I am Zhangyu Du of the Octopus Clan I am considered a once in a lifetime genius for a mere half beast such as you it is already considered an honor to be captured by me."

Shadowslash let's out a snort but he knew that he needed time to solve the poison wrecking his body so listening to this person ramble would do some good to him.

But he once again felt the tentacles latching onto him and once again he cursed inwardly as he realized that his opponent wouldn't give him any chance.

Suddenly a domineering dragon roar was heard throughout the battlefield Shadowslash immediately felt joy as he was familiar to this dragon roar.

'Old man you took too long!' He couldn't help but want to shout that but he was saving his energy on dispersing the poison on his body.

He then felt a liquid was thrown all over him as he realized that this liquid felt very disgusting it also smell disgusting.

~Hehehe~ "It seems that we need to leave little fellow" With that Shadowslash was pulled away by his opponent.

Roar! Old man emerald let's out a roar as he shouted "Do you really think you could escape my gaze smelly octopus!"

With that he brought his dragon claw towards a specific spot in which looks like there was nothing there.

Bam! The entire battlefield shook as green liquid starts to cover the palm of Old man emerald.

Old man emerald then sensed a powerful aura locking onto him and he couldn't help but turn solemn he then grabs Shadowslash and threw him towards the Xiantian Realm experts from their side.

"Take him away!" Roared Old man emerald as his aura surged and he charged towards a certain direction.

Just a couple of seconds after he left a powerful sonic boom shook the battlefield.

Without anyone realising it but on the spot where the green liquid was sprayed a person with four tentacle hands dug up from the ground.

This person also has four tentacle legs as he couldn't help but curse "God f*ckin d*mmit! I nearly died if it weren't for the earth escape talisman I would have become a pile of mess."

He then locks on the retreating Xiantian Realm experts from the beastman side and smile in an evil manner as he said "Do you really think you could escape from my grasp?"

With that he chased after the retreating Xiantian Realm experts but before he could catch up the Primordial Rune Scarabs flew back to Shadowslash.

Upon seeing this the octopus man stops and said "You got lucky today half beast."

Even though he was confident on himself but even he knew that he wasn't a match against these hundreds of Primordial Rune Scarabs.

Shadowslash on the other hand used his spiritual sense to tell the beastmen that were carrying him to put him into the fortress.

These beastmen nodded as they brought him into their fortress.

The fortress is still incomplete as some of its parts were actually destroyed by the Aqua Race Clan.

There are actually a couple of beastman soldiers that were helping the builders on fixing the destroyed parts.

Seeing many of their comrades have returned quite early they realised something have happened on the battlefield.

When they saw that these individuals were carrying Shadowslash they couldn't help but take a deep breath.

They thought that their side have lost fortunately one of the Xiantian Realm experts told what had happened during today's battle and the soldiers were stunned.

Then they started cheering as a trump card such as the Primordial Rune Scarabs is truly an heaven sent to them.

But they also realized that the danger on Shadowslash's life have increased as from the information they have received they found out that he was now the number one target of the Aqua Race Clan.

The soldiers then grips their weapon and swore that they would protect Shadowslash with all they got.

Shadowslash was put into his designated room inside the fortress he was still using his dragon Qi to dispel the poison.

Because of his exquisite control over his spiritual sense it was much easier for him to dispel poison compared to those that have

the same cultivation level as him.

After a while he heaved a sigh of relief as he starts to stretch his limb finally able to move them.

He then became serious as he now realized that he would become a primary target for the Aqua Race Clan because of the presence of the Primordial Rune Scarabs.

Since it's like this he decided to only go to the battlefield via his clone while he will hide on his secret base cultivating in retreat.

He nodded as he starts to spread the Primordial Rune Scarabs towards the surrounding to be safe as he realized that there are individuals that is able to bypass his and Hentai's field of sense.

After getting a message that the coast is clear he quickly summoned back one of his clones as he secretly went out of the fortress leaving his clone behind.

Leaving the fortress he took one Primordial Rune Scarabs with him and left the rest with his clone.

Now the whole fortress is buzzing with noises as the Primordial Rune Scarabs started flying around it.

Transforming into a little fox Shadowslash started creeping out of the fortress and into the forest.

He started acting natural as he doesn't want anyone finding out that he left.

What he did not know is that atop of the fortress were three clowns and each of these clowns radiates powerful aura comparable to Old man emerald.

One of the clown with a dragon pattern on his cape asks "Are these the rune beasts that caused so much hubbub on the battlefield?"

A clown with silver cape spoke "They are the only ones that have runes on their back so it must be them."
