Chapter 838: 838
Chapter 838- Once again sparring with Tang Qi
An entire night passed . Under my strong demands, the nurse finally agreed to cut my stitches on the second day . The moment she took off the bandages, my jade-white arms and chest appeared underneath them . The nurse immediately called for the doctor as if she had seen a ghost . The doctor also couldn’t believe it and felt that humans shouldn’t have such a quick regeneration rate and that something must have gone wrong . I didn’t say much, but I knew that this was the strong regeneration rate of the Yang Yan Realm . In other words, someone who stepped into the Yang Yan Realm was infinitely close to God, and their bodies were far stronger than that of normal people .
……
At 9am, we went to pay respects to Dong Cheng Lei at the cemetery along with Li Mu, Wang Jian, Yue Qing Qian, Lin Xiao Wu, Old K, and Song Han . Lin Wan Er carpooled with Dong Cheng Yue and me while I held a white flower in my hand . The fragrance wafted into my nose, but it made my mood even heavier . Dong Cheng Lei’s grave was at the corner of the cemetery and it was quite large . The Dong Cheng Family was quite famous in Hangzhou and they naturally didn’t lack any money . Dong Cheng Feng also treated Ah Lei as his real son, and as such, one could see how much he loved him .
The car stopped outside . I wore a set of brand new clothes and got off the car with the flowers in my hand . Li Mu, Lin Xiao Wu, Mocha, and the rest had all arrived . All of them wore black and they slowly walked into the cemetery . No one spoke . The atmosphere was so dense that it made it difficult for one to breathe .
We soon arrived at the front of his tomb . The picture on it was still so dumb-looking .
I placed the fresh flowers in front of his tombstone and knelt down slowly . My heart suddenly trembled, my ears perked up at the sound of Dong Cheng Lei calling me Brother Xiao Yao . My nose felt sour and tears welled up in my eyes . I lowered my head, tears landing onto the flowers . My body trembled slightly as I wiped my tears, raised my head and said, “Ah Lei, I hope there is no killing in Heaven and I hope that there is only happiness there . Brother Xiao Yao knows that you care most about Dong Cheng . She is fine and Blood Scythe didn’t harm her . Ah Lei, since you call me Brother Xiao Yao, I will also be Dong Cheng’s brother . From today on, I will be a good brother on your behalf . I won’t let anyone hurt Dong Cheng no matter what . I won’t be the one to walk into the wedding hall with her, but I will care for her forever and dote on her . Ah Lei, rest well . Brother Xiao Yao promises you that unless I die, I won’t go against my words!”

Dong Cheng Yue’s body shuddered and she cried .
I slowly bowed down and knelt toward his tombstone . Behind me, Li Mu, Wang Jian, Yue Qing Qian, Mocha, Song Han, Lin Xiao Wu, Chen Yong Jie, Tang Xue, and the [Zhan Long] core members all knelt down . They didn’t bother about their shirts getting dirty . Yue Qing Qian, Mocha, Lin Xiao Wu, and Tang Xue all cried out .
Life was just so fragile; it would disappear in the blink of an eye like a butterfly in a storm . There was nothing we could do but cherish the people we had in front of us .
……
After paying respects, many white flowers were placed onto the tomb . The Dong Cheng family also sent people here to thank us for coming . In the end, a slightly older male said towards Dong Cheng Yue, “Miss, my condolences, don’t be too sad . Ah Lei wouldn’t want you to be too sad for him . “
Dong Cheng Yue nodded her head, “I know, thank you Uncle Liu . “
It was close to noon . I heaved a sigh and looked at everyone, “Let’s go . Let’s find a place to eat, it’ll be my treat . Everyone specially came over to Hangzhou and it has been tough on you all . “
Li Mu and the others nodded their heads . In truth, no one had a good appetite while I heartlessly wolfed down food last night . I ate three times more than the average person, pretty much making up for the full seven days and nights of food from before .
At noon, we found a restaurant in the city . All of us sat around a big table . No one suggested drinking; we ate just like that .
The clinks of chopsticks sounded continuously . These fellows were probably famished .
When we were about to finish, I coughed and said, “Why is the atmosphere so tense? Relax . I was unconscious for so many days so I want to know what happened in the game . Is [Zhan Long] fine?”
Li Mu answered, “Er . . . It is not bad . Let Qing Qian tell you . “
Yue Qing Qian placed down her chopsticks and said, “Brother Xiao Yao, we followed your orders, killed all the Fire Dragon Beasts, and sealed all the level 1 mounts . We even headed deeper and killed all those Fire Dragon Beasts . After 5 days and 5 nights, we obtained 3,000 Fire Dragon Horses . Sister Cang Tong suggested to give it to the top 3,000 cavalry style players in the guild . Now, we have 3,000 Fire Dragon Cavalry and they are really strong . Moreover, the Steel Blade Cavalry on Steel Blade Mountain has been refreshing . We have been recruiting and now we have 80 thousand players with 50 thousand online . We have 15 thousand Steel Blade Cavalry and 3,000 Fire Dragon Cavalry for a total of 18 thousand!”
I nodded my head in satisfaction, “Oh, that is not bad; with these main cavalry forces, we probably have no enemies in Tian Ling City, right?”

Wang Jian said, “Yes, Brother Xiao Yao . [Zhan Long]’s development speed is too fast, making the guilds of [Legend], [Prague], [House of Prestige] and [Hero’s Mound] feel huge pressure . Luckily, [Zhan Long] hasn’t made any enemies recently and they have no reason to restrict us . “
I took in a deep breath, “Let’s keep it up . . . “
Yue Qing Qian pursed her lips and said, “Brother Xiao Yao, did Sister Cang Tong tell you about another matter regarding the Hero’s Wing offline finals?”
I was lost, “Like . . . We missed it?”
”Yeah . “
Lin Wan Er held my hand and said, “While you were unconscious, the Hero’s Wing offline finals began . It was taken by the America Region Sky Rose team . Fang Ge Que’s Legend team was second . What a waste . Dong Cheng and I were totally lost so we gave up . Don’t blame Dong Cheng, I suggested to give up . “
I smiled, “Well, it is just a small competition . We are still young and we can fight next year . Moreover, I don’t care about a trophy now, what I care about is the gains and losses of this world . “
”Oh . “
Lin Wan Er nodded her head strongly; a smile appeared on her beautiful cheeks and she said, “We all need to pull ourselves together . After this gathering, we must work hard and push [Zhan Long] to first place in the next rankings!”
I couldn’t help but laugh, “That will be a little problematic . [Legend] and [Hero’s Mound] have played so many games over so many years and they’ve accumulated tons of points . Unless we can occupy two or more cities, it’ll be tough . “
”Yes!”
Lin Wan Er pursed her lips and looked at Dong Cheng Yue, “Dong Cheng isn’t willing to enter the game . Why?”
I looked toward her and smiled, “HI Dong Cheng, smile for Brother Xiao Yao?”
Dong Cheng Yue’s eyes were red . She looked at me, then at Lin Wan Er, and then she said, “I know everyone is doing this for my good, give me . . . Er, give me two more days . I will get myself fixed and enter the game and live life well . “
”Yes, this is the Dong Cheng we know, come, eat more . . . “
In the afternoon, we sent Li Mu, Wang Jian, and Yue Qing Qian over to the airport . Li Meng Yao also got on her plane back to Xiamen . Only Lin Wan Er and Dong Cheng Yue were by my side . At the airport, I held Wan Er’s small hand and walked backwards . But Dong Cheng Yue was really out of it so I also held her hand . She raised her head and looked at me, tears rolling within . She then let go of my hand and said softly, “I am fine alone, I have always been fine alone . . . “
” . . . ” I couldn’t say anything, ” . . . “
……
In the afternoon, we returned to the villa . Tang Qi was waiting for us in the hall . He took in a deep breath after he saw me, “Li Xiao Yao, thank you . “
I was shocked, “What are you thanking me for?”
He smiled, “Thank you for going all out for Dong Cheng and Ah Lei . Without you restricting Ouyang Chuan, I wouldn’t have been able to get close to her, much less save her . “
I turned around to him and said, “Actually, I should thank you for saving Dong Cheng . “
He gave an awkward smile and then looked toward me, “Li Xiao Yao!”
”Yeah?”
”You really . . . Stepped into Yang Yan? I really can’t see the depths of your cultivation . I even have an illusion that you aren’t a normal person and you have no power in your body . “
”Is that so?”
I smiled, turning around and looking at Tang Qi . I raised a finger and said, “If you can block one finger, I will treat you to a month’s worth of meals, how’s that sound?”
Tang Qi was shocked, “Anything I want?”
”Of course!”
”Bring it on!”
After saying that, he took two steps back, clenching his fists and energy currents flowed around them . No wonder this kid was willing to bet with me — he had comprehended energy circulation .
I held up a finger and used some strength . The power in my body instantly turned into Yang Yan power and surged into my finger . My finger was covered in a layer of red . The power of Yang Yan was the most precise and purest type of power — under one’s control, it could be as soft as water or as intense as fire . When I pushed out, the flames suddenly expanded!
”Peng!”
The energy rotation collapsed, the flames on my finger went from a killing flame to a gentle flame . My body didn’t even move . It was totally calm whereas Tang Qi took several steps back, striking the wall . His face was ashen white, “F***, this strength . . . You should have exceeded Ouyang Chuan’s strength, right?”
I smiled, the flames dissipating, “Although he entered Yang Yan, his heart was shameless and extremely violent . Such a person can only control the initial power of Yang Yan . If you step into the Yang Yan Realm one day, you will naturally understand the difference . “
Tang Qi nodded, “Yes, thank you for your advice . I will continue to work hard!”

A mysterious capsule intended for virtual reality. Its producer, in light of the apocalypse, had released early. Months back he had ignored the last news broadcast regarding the pod and its promises. Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
