Rebirth of the Thief Who Roamed The World Chapter 953 – Chaos Se
As soon as Zennarde’s Sword entered back into his inventory, Nie Yan felt a powerful aura surge out from his bag.
This weapon which had accompanied Nie Yan in his rise to glory so many years ago, and would do so again!
Nie Yan examined Zennarde’s Sword.

All of the properties of Zennarde’s Sword saw a massive upgrade. What excited Nie Yan the most was the boost in attack power. The almost 40,000 attack power was even higher than the 37,000 attack power of the Death God’s Edge! It had become a genuine Sacred weapon!
With such a powerful weapon, Nie Yan’s attack had once more risen to astonishing heights, allowing him to take another step toward the apex. He estimated even if the likes of Plenty, Smoke Stub, and Bladelight pulled out all their aces, their damage wouldn’t be much higher than his. The only thing still lacking behind was his level.
If Nie Yan could turn his Tyrant Abak Set into Chaos gear as well, then he would truly stand at the apex once more.
“Craftsman God Bronnick, I would like to talk to you about a more sensitive matter. Could you have that party of five wait outside first please?” Nie Yan asked. This was a rather rude request, but those five had seen enough. If he continued the discussion in their presence, he might leak out some important secrets.
“You lot, step outside.” Bronnick waved to the five players. “Don’t worry. I’ll compensate you for the inconvenience.”
The party of five was slightly annoyed. However, after hearing that Bronnick would give them compensation, their anger quickly disappeared. Anything he gave would be amazing.
They didn’t dare to voice any complaints as they walked to the door. Before heading out, they let their eyes land on Nie Yan one last time in the hope of seeing through this mysterious man’s cloak. However, there was not a clue to their identity. Besides, Nie Yan had drank an Appearance Changing Potion, so even if he took his cloak off, these players wouldn’t recognize him.
“If I want to upgrade my Tyrant Abak Set, what materials will I require?” Nie Yan asked after the party of five closed the door behind them.
Bronnick pondered for a long while before breaking his silence. “That will be difficult. Let me make you a list.” He grabbed a pen and paper and started scribbling down the required materials as he mumbled, “8 Void Metal ingots; 32 different Rank 16 Gems, and I’ll need 20 of each; Dark Crystals…”
Bronnick listed of a dizzying number of different materials. When he was all done, he turned to Nie Yan and said, “You know, your Tyrant Abak Set is already very good. If you want to turn it into Chaos gear, I’ll have to do it piece by piece. This Legendary set will no longer be a set, and the set bonuses will disappear. However, in exchange, you’ll see a large increase in stats, far greater than what the set bonuses provide right now. This is something you’ll have to carefully consider.”
The Tyrant Abak Set would go from a Legendary set to eight separate pieces of equipment? Nie Yan frowned. However, if the stats of each individual piece were going to be much higher than the combined whole, that was the only way to go.

Since it would no longer be a set, Nie Yan wouldn’t have to worry about upgrading the Bloody Dagger and Slaughter Edge. He would be just fine with the six armour pieces and Zennarde’s Sword.
Not upgrading the Tyrant Abak Set was out of the question. It already lagged far behind compared to the best equipment out there right now. Either Nie Yan had to find a way to upgrade it, or he could only switch it out for a more powerful set.
Between the two choices, Nie Yan would prefer the first one. Obtaining the Tyrant Abak Set was already incredibly difficult. He didn’t want to imagine how hard it would be to find even higher quality gear. The first option was much simpler. As for the Void Metal, apparently the ores were rare drops in the Chaos Temple. If he utilized the entire strength of Asskickers United, even if he couldn’t find something as high end as Void Gold, getting Dark Void Iron was still possible.
“If I only want to upgrade six pieces, does that mean I’ll only need six Void Metal ingots?” Nie Yan asked. He already had a Dark Void Iron Ingot in his bag. That meant he just needed to get five more.
“Correct. Actually, if you only want to upgrade six pieces, I think I might have another method.”
“What is that?” Nie Yan asked curiously.
“Melt the eight pieces into six and create a completely new Chaos set. Of course, it will require a lot more materials, and we’ll also have to sacrifice a piece of Sacred-grade equipment,” Bronnick said. This would be his most powerful creation!
Turning the eight-piece Tyrant Abak Set into a completely new six-piece Chaos set? Nie Yan’s heart trembled. If this was really possible, his strength would go up by leaps and bounds!
If Nie Yan said he wasn’t moved, it would be a blatant lie. However, it would cost him a Sacred item.
Nie Yan immediately thought of Patternoster’s Warhammer. This hammer wasn’t meant to be used by a Thief. It was useless to him.
“Even though a Sacred item will have to be sacrificed, it won’t be in vain. Its properties will be transferred over to the new set,” Bronnick said.
“Apart from the Sacred item, what other materials will I need?” Nie Yan asked. He was very interested in Bronnick’s suggestion.
“Many. Let’s see…” Bronnick listed off a large number of materials, many of which Nie Yan had never heard of before. They all came from the Chaos Temple or Sword of the War God. Of the 30 different materials, a few sat in the guild treasury. After acquiring all those different materials, he would also still need six Void Metal ingots.
“So, if I gather all these things, You can turn my Tyrant Abak Set into a Chaos set?” Nie Yan asked.
“Yes, Great Prophet. Apart from the materials, the crafting fee will be 10,000,000 gold,” Bronnick said.
The crafting fee was irrelevant. The amount of gold at Nie Yan’s disposal had long since passed astronomical levels. He couldn’t care less about a measly 10,000,000 gold.
Nie Yan had gained quite a lot from this trip to Craftsman God Bronnick’s place. Apart from upgrading Zennarde’s Sword, he also found out how to upgrade his other equipment. Even if it wasn’t possible to do this right away, he at least had a goal to work toward.
Nie Yan sent Guo Huai a message.「How’s the guild lately?」
Guo Huai was overjoyed beyond belief to hear from Nie Yan.「You finally show yourself! You really left us out to dry over these past three years. I had to work around the clock with the other staff members to pick up the slack when you disappeared!」
「You’re right. I’m sorry. It’s been hard on you guys. It’s because of all of you that Asskickers United hasn’t collapsed.」
Nie Yan knew that after his departure from the game, Guo Huai and the others had spent an untold amount of effort to pacify the panic and despair in the guild.
「That’s right! Now, when are you planning to lead us again?」
「Not any time soon. With my current equipment and level, I don’t think it’s suitable for me to come back as the guild leader. Even if the people in the guild don’t care, the people outside will. 」
「That’s fine. Let them speak. They’re nobodies anyway,」Guo Huai said.「Sure your level has dropped, but everyone in the guild reveres you just as much as they did three years ago.」
「I know, but still. Let me climb back to the peak first,」Nie Yan said in a determined tone. Even if he went back now, there wasn’t much he could do.
「Are you sure? You’ve been gone for three whole years! Even if you’ve power levelled to 180 inside the Dark Demonic Space, you’re still more than 20 levels away from the top ranked players. Plus, they’ve all had two years to collect Chaos gear,」Guo Huai said worriedly. Catching up after a three-year absence was easier said than done!
「Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing.」Nie Yan shared the list of materials Bronnick had given him.「How many of these things can you help me find?」
Guo Huai glanced at the list.「Many of these materials are quite rare. I estimate the total value of everything on this list is at least 30,000,000 gold. Just the five Void Metal ingots will cost 12,000,000 gold at minimum. However, it’s nothing for our guild.」
Even Nie Yan was surprised. He never thought these materials would cost so much. However, thinking about it, a top rank Chaos set was even more valuable!
「So, you want me to help you get these things, right?」Guo Huai asked.
「Yeah. All of these materials are important. I’ll focus on raising my level. Message me back when you’ve found all of them,」Nie Yan replied.

I will not use the settings of other RRL writers without their permission.Do not ask for that, unless the author in question gives permission. Most settings he visits will be slightly AU in some way or another, but please remind me if I drift too far from canon unintentionally or characterize a character wrongly. This work will eventually fit all tags I selected once he visits universes suited to those tags, so don't ask when or where a given tag is coming. I do not own the cover art, it belongs to Nicholas Belanger Thiel, and I will stop using it if he asks me to. Kellan doesn't look like the old man on the cover, though once he acquires a disguise-type ability he may occasionally use that appearance. The tapir, however, will be a thing, as despite looking like a failed attempt at an elephant, tapirs are cool and this dragon finds them to be kinda cute.
