Everything that happened felt unreal to Emmelyn. After the guards arrested her, they brought her to a beautiful chamber on the top of the tower. The door was locked from outside, but the window was opened.
They might think nobody in their right mind would try to climb down the window thirty meters above the ground.
Ha. Jokes on you, Devil! Of course, Emmelyn would try to climb down and escape. She just needed to make sure nobody was around when she did that.
Emmelyn could do unthinkable things, like... for example, going undercover as a male servant and entered the crown prince's castle to kill him. So, escaping a tower was definitely not beyond her.
She looked out the window and tried to calculate her chance. There were so many guards down there, patrolling. They might be ordered to guard her so she wouldn't run away.
She decided to wait. Alright... she needs to assess her situation. How the hell did she end up in the devil's bed last night? And.. he said, he wanted to make her his baby momma? Wait... it wasn't a dream?
[Shit. What does he want from me? Did he really say he wants to make me the mother of his children? Whyyyy? Can't he just get anyone else to do it?]

Emmelyn narrowed her eyes and tried to rake her brain for possibilities.

Emmelyn took a look at herself in front of the mirror. She intentionally rubbed some dirt on her face every day to disguise her true appearance while she was undercover. It wasn't uncommon for servants to look slightly dirty since they couldn't access clean water easily.

Well, after checking herself in the mirror, Emmelyn could confirm that today she looked awful.
[If the devil liked me for my looks, he sure has a weird taste.]
She furrowed her brows and checked her chest that was covered in bandages to make it look flat. Her face was slightly dirty, her hair was disheveled, and she overall looked like a boy.
[Wait, maybe he did hate women and could only do it with men... However, men wouldn't produce heirs for him. That's why, when he saw me, he thought I'm perfect for the job since I look like a man —minus Adam's apple—but I have a womb. So... I can give him heirs.]
The thought made Emmelyn shudder.
Come to think of it, that's the most logical explanation, wasn't it? Why else did the devil want her?
Hmm... So, the devil was actually gay but he was pressured to produce some heirs to sustain his family lineage...
