Chen Lihua gave him a stare before saying to the waiter, "We are a bit uncomfortable with this place. Can you please take us to a quiet room?"

The waiter nodded with a smile before signaling another waiter to take them to a new room.

Now sitting in a quieter and reserved room, Chen Lihua asked Liu Longwei, "Why do you like to drink that bitter coffee? You always have a cup of coffee every morning."

Liu Longwei leaned in towards her and replied, "Because I like it", before leaning away with a smirk while watching her roll her eyes at him in resentment.

The same manner this young couple are dining, it's the same way Aunt Lin and her ex were eating together.

They two were in a room with a table between them while looking at each other in a staring contest.

The man was the first to give up. He sighed before taking Aunt Lin's hands in his own. But Aunt Lin (Chen Lin) brushed his hands away and said with a frown, "I'm sure you can talk without touching me."

The man sighed again before taking a gulp of water from the glass, "Liner, are you still angry with me?"

"Am not angry," Chen Lin replied with indifference.

The man tried to clasp Chen Lin's hands again, but she didn't allow him. And this made her move her hands off the table.

"You are now a married man, so I don't think what you're doing is appropriate," Chen Lin sneered.

With an anxious look on his face, the man said, "Liner, do you still blame me for not standing by you at that time? I've already apologized to you several times, and you don't seem to want to forgive me."

Chen Lin snorted, "Why should I forgive you when you couldn't even stand by me when I needed you the most?"

"You know I love you, and you're the only one I have in my heart. You know the reason why we couldn't get married back then. It's not entirely my fault," The man said regretfully

"Thank God you said what happened back then wasn't 'entirely' your fault, which means that you were also at fault. How could you claim to love me when you couldn't speak up for us? Your mother said she didn't like my character because I had a dominant character simply because I could overpower her. Hence, she decided to go against our relationship. Even refused to let us get married even when I was already carrying your child. You didn't even try to make an effort to insist on our union, and now here you are claiming that you love me. You must have taken me for a joke and as an easy woman."

The man ran his hands through his hair before explaining helplessly, "Liner you left me before I could do anything. After I had finished making plans for us and came to tell you about it, you simply broke up with me without hearing me speak. And after trying to appease you for a long time, you still refused to listen to me."

Chen Lin glared at him angrily before saying, "What more did you want to say to me when you couldn't even defend 'us' in your mother's presence. You even married a month after we broke up, and actually had a big wedding. What more do you still have to say?"

The man took a deep breath, "Liner, I'm sorry for what happened to us in the past. I am sorry for not standing by us. I promise to make it up to you. You just have to say 'Yes' to my proposal, and then we can be together," Chen Lin rolled her eyes at him while remaining quiet.

The man sighed, "You know that woman was arranged for me by my mother, and I don't even love her. But I had to marry her since you didn't want me, at least I wouldn't be sleeping around."

Chen Lin felt that she just heard something unimaginable. She scoffed, "Are you trying to tell me that you have never cheated your wife since you both got married?"

The man was silent for a while before saying righteously, "I didn't stay true to her. How could I do that? I never loved her. Even when she knew about our relationship, she still insisted on getting married to me."

He took a breath before saying, "But you know that I love you and will never cheat on you. You can even attest to that. Before our relationship came to an end, I never cheated on you. And that's to show how much I took your feelings into consideration. Liner, come back to me. I've already planned to divorce that woman for a long time now."

"Are you trying to make me the reason for divorcing your wife?" Chen Lin implored, not finding his words funny.

"No, I didn't mean that. Whether you accept my proposal or not, I will still divorce her because I have already made up my mind. I am already tired of being in a loveless relationship for many years now," The man quickly replied.

"But you have a son and a daughter with her already, and you still want to divorce her?" Chen Lin questioned with uncertainty in her voice.

"It doesn't matter. It's not like I am going to abandon my children. I will take up my responsibilities as a father," The man said, taking a deep breath. He then looked at Chen Lin before saying, "I never wanted to have any child with her. But who knew that she would tamper with the condoms. Before she had our first child, I told her to take the birth control pills, which she did after we had sex. But when she got pregnant, I questioned her, and she said she wasn't at fault that sometimes birth control pills failed. So I made inquiries and found out that it was true, and this made me believe her. But that did not stop me from taking preventive measures. Before she had our second child, I didn't let her retake the pills since I learned my lessons, so I used a condom, but she still got pregnant. And that was how I found out that she cheated me."
