"For your own safety, you better stop screaming in my ears. You should count yourself lucky that your mother was my best friend when she was alive, and that's why I tolerated your shortcomings and got you married to my son. And because of my relationship with your mother, you will remain married to my son."

Well, despite her mother-in-law's bashing, her nerves calmed down with the last sentence she said to her.

At least, she could still stay married to her son and enjoy the lavish lifestyle she has been living.

Saying those hurtful words could be painful to her ears, but she can tolerate them because it's just a small sacrifice she has to make if she still wants to stay married.

As the days to the date, her husband gave her for their divorce drew nearer, the more she grew worried.

Since her husband (Aunt Lin's ex) left the house that day, he hasn't returned, phoned or sent an SMS, so why wouldn't she be worried.

"Mom, I haven't heard anything from my husband for some days now, he must have really meant it when he said he would divorce me. Mother, what should I do if he really does it?" she was in tears as she asked her mother-in-law, who was eating watermelon.

"You don't have to worry about him, I already have a plan hatched out, am just waiting for the right time to launch it," the old lady answered in a smile.

The woman wiped her tears as a slight smile appeared on her face.

"Mother, what plans have you got?"

The old lady wiped her lips with the table napkin and answered in a triumphant smile.

"What if you don't show up on that day, because I was hospitalized, being in the final stage of Ovarian Cancer?"

The woman widened her eyes in shock, but then she smiled and gave her mother-in-law a thumbs up.

"Wow! A mother that's is an excellent idea. Am sure your idea will work, I trust you. And when my husband calls me on that day, or before he even calls, I will tell him the breaking news close to the appointed time. Then he would forget about the divorce and rush down to the hospital out of desperation. Then mother, using your illness as an excuse, you can get him to do your bidding as your last dying wish."

"That's right, he would have no other choice and option than to listen to me," the old lady added in a smile.

The two women had a happy moment while working on their plans. But on the other hand, their son and husband were in a hotel room, and on a call with the woman he loved.

He told Aunt Lin that the divorce would take place in three days, and then he would come for her.

He even spoke to his daughter, and that was what made his mind and decision stronger.

Two days later, something tragic and unexpected happened that changed the lives of Aunt Lin's ex and his family.

"Mother, how is the preparation for our plan going?" the woman asked her mother-in-law as they chewed on melon seeds, happily.

"The plan is completed and ready to be hatched," the old lady answered happily.

"Mo.....," the woman just opened her mouth to speak when her phone suddenly started to ring.

When she picked up her phone, she saw that it was an unsaved phone number, so she picked the call in annoyance and said harshly.

"Yes, who is this?"

The person on the other side, spoke to her for a few seconds before she screamed and nearly dropped her phone.

"My son, which hospital is in?"

"Okay, please do everything you can to save my son, I will be there very soon," the woman replied in tears.

"What happened, why are you crying? Who is in the hospital? Talk to me!" the old lady asked worriedly while standing up from the couch.

"Mo....ther, my... My son got into an accident, and he... he is being sent into the theatre for emergency surgery. Surgery, am finished!" the woman replied in tears, as she slumped to the floor.

"What did you say happened to my grandson?" the old lady asked in shock.

The woman couldn't reply, as she cried profusely.

The old lady nearly broke down when she learned that her grandson actually got into an accident, and was being sent in for emergency surgery.

"What are you still doing on the floor, crying? Don't we need to get to the hospital? If anything happens to my grandson, I will deal with you!" the old lady warned.

At least, the old lady's scolding woke the woman up.

So she hurriedly stood up and went to grab her car keys.

"Mother, let's go to the hospital," she said, and the two women rushed out of the house.

When they got to the hospital, they were immediately asked to see the doctor handling their son/grandson's case.

"Doctor, how is my grandson doing?!"

"Doctor, how is my son doing?"

Both women asked at the same time as they grabbed unto each of the doctor's hands.

"In the meantime, your son is okay. But he has lost a lot of blood and would need a blood transfusion. Since you are his family, both of you should go and have your blood checked up, so we can begin the blood transfusion immediately," the doctor explained as he tried releasing his hands from their hold, but failed.

When they finally heard a solution from the doctor, they immediately released their hold on him.

They thanked the doctor before following after the nurse whom the doctor showed them, to check their blood group.

While walking with the nurse, the woman phoned her husband (Aunt Lin's ex) to tell him about the current grave situation, but he didn't pick up.

She tried it so many times, but he still refused to pick up, so the old lady had to try, but she still received the same negative response.

So she sent an SMS to his phone which read, 'Son, your son got into an accident, and was sent to the hospital, call me when you get my message.'

Within a minute, the old lady's son called her back.

Hearing her son's voice which she hadn't heard for the past few days, the old lady became more emotional as she cried on while explaining the situation to him.
