After the conversation came to an end, Liu Longwei immediately went in search of his wife.

Liu Longwei went into Chen Lihua's bedroom to look for her. The room was dark, with no ray of light, so he switched on the light and saw a little figure sitting in a corner.

The way she squeezed herself with her head lowered made her look vulnerable.

Liu Longwei felt so guilty when he saw like that, plus her whimpering voice. So he approached her step by step.

"Sweetheart, I'm so sorry," he apologized as he knelt beside her.

Chen Lihua continued to whimper in a muffled voice, not even attempting to lift her head.

Liu Longwei tried to lift her face gently, but she wouldn't budge, so he lifted her arms that were supporting her head, and then he was able to see her red eyes and teary face.

"Do you not like me anymore? Am I giving you a lot of trouble? Are you tired of me?" Chen Lihua asked one question after the other in a hoarse voice.

"Baby, what are you saying? You are hurting me by talking like these. I love you so much that I feel a greater pain than you whenever you are hurt," Liu Longwei said as he wiped her tears, but more kept rolling down from her eyes.

Chen Lihua stared into his eyes as if trying to see if he really meant what he said. She sniffed and asked, "Do you mean what you say?"

"Of course, I would never lie about my feelings. I have never loved someone so much like the way I love you," Liu Longwei confessed as he stared back at her black pupils.

Chen Lihua sniffed and continued staring at him in wonder. Seeing her look, Liu Longwei sighed as he hugged her with one arm, while the other patted her hair gently.

"Sweetheart, I'm sorry for hurting you. But I acted that way for your own good. I didn't want you thinking about what happened, so I decided to give you something else to worry about in other to get your mind off them. I am sorry," Liu Longwei explained and apologized.

"Thank you~," Chen Lihua said in a soft tone as she hugged him back.

She didn't know he was being considerate. Earlier, she thought he was tired of her and probably didn't like her anymore. So, she felt that her world had come crashing down.

But after hearing his reasons, her heart felt at ease, and she became happy.

Liu Longwei helped her up. "Come, let's get you cleaned up."

As he led her into her bathroom, he told her about their (his/her) mothers' call.

After washing and cleaning her face, Liu Longwei applied some moisturizer on her face before leading her downstairs to have dinner.

At the dining table, Chen Lihua sat beside Liu Longwei and watched him eat.

"Ahhh!" Liu Longwei motioned for her to open her mouth and eat the food he was giving to her, but she turned her face away.

"I'm not hungry."

"Sweetheart, just have a bite, please..." Liu Longwei pleaded.

Chen Lihua turned her face to stare at him. She glanced at the spoon with food in it and back at Liu Longwei, who had a doting smile on his face.

She reluctantly opened her mouth, and Liu Longwei sent the food into her mouth.

"Good girl," he complimented satisfactorily.

Chen Lihua frowned at him as she chewed on her food. She desperately wanted to tell him that she wasn't a girl but a woman, but first, she needed to swallow whatever that was in her mouth before she could talk.

Liu Longwei put some food in his mouth and chewed on it. When he saw her swallowing her food, he smiled as he picked up the spoon with some food in it.

Then when Chen Lihua opened her mouth to speak, he immediately sent the food to her mouth.

Chen Lihua was taken by surprise. She was about rebuking him for calling her a girl, yet he sent another spoon of food into her mouth.

Chen Lihua chewed on the food while giving off an angry look.

Liu Longwei pretended not to know what was happening but deep down his heart; he was very happy seeing his wife with that grumpy look. So he repeated his actions a few times.

When Chen Lihua learned his moves, she decided not to open her mouth again. But she still fell under his trap again and again.

For example, now, Liu Longwei held a spoonful of food to her mouth while trying to act cute.

Chen Lihua couldn't help laughing. He looked so funny.

Liu Longwei used that opportunity to send the food into her mouth. He didn't care about what he looked like; as long as his motives worked, then he didn't give a damn at all.

Chen Lihua continued smiling as she chewed on the food.

Having swallowed the food, Chen Lihua said to him as she laughed, "You looked so funny earlier. Do your employees know that their Boss could be so childish? Please don't try that in public. How many people have seen you with that look?"

"You are the only one," Liu Longwei replied as he sent another spoonful of food into her mouth.

Chen Lihua ate the food with a face full of smiles as she stared at him.

When Liu Longwei brought the spoon to her mouth again, she refused to open her mouth.

She leaned away from him for fear that he would send the food into her mouth as she talked.

"Do you take me for a fool? I'm not eating anymore."

"But you've been doing just fine. If you weren't hungry, you wouldn't have eaten this much," Liu Longwei said as he put his hand down.

"Is that what you think? Well, I am not eating anymore," Chen Lihua declared as she sat properly before turning her face away from him.

Liu Longwei was speechless at her actions. 'Did his words provoke her?' he thought.
