Chen Lihua watched from the side as Liu Longwei whispered something to the doctor, and the doctor smiled while replying.
"What did you tell her?". Chen Lihua asked him immediately they came out of the office.
"Nothing much, I just reminded her to keep the news a secret." Liu Longwei replied with a smile.
"Have you thought of anything you want to eat?." He asked her.
"Yes! I want to eat Korean Kimchi. I want to eat Korean black noodles. I want to eat fruit salad, and I want it to be decorated so beautifully that I won't bear to touch it. I want to eat steak and red wine."
Chen Lihua listed all these in one breath before glancing at him, just to see him staring at her with a dumbfounded gaze.
"What's wrong?." She asked.
"Can you finish all of them?." He asked curiously.
"Yes of course! Why would I list what I want to eat it can't finish them?." Chen Lihua answered without care.
"Alright. I will get the chefs to prepare everything." Liu Longwei assured her as he whipped out his phone to make a call.
"Thank you!." Chen Lihua said happily as she held onto her arm.
In less than two hours later, the person who said she could finish the food she ordered, was seen, drinking red wine, with the food left untouched, as she admired the fruit salad that was decorated beautifully that she couldn't bear to touch, just as she ordered.
So she drank the red wine while appreciating the handwork of the chefs.
Liu Longwei couldn't bear to watch her anymore, so he snatched the bottle and glass of red wine from her.
"What?!." Chen Lihua asked in annoyance.
"Eat your food." Liu Longwei ordered without a smile on his face.
"Are you shouting at me?." Chen Lihua asked as she peered at his face.
"I did not shout at you, I'm only asking you to please, eat the food you ordered." Liu Longwei said in reply while keeping the wine far from her reach.

"Why do I feel like you are starting to get angry with me?." Chen Lihua asked as she gave him a weird look.
"I can't bear to be angry with you, so why would I bother trying? I'm not angry at you." Liu Longwei said truthfully.
"That's a lie, I don't believe you. Since you are angry at me, I'm not eating anymore." Chen Lihua said as she stood up from the dining chair and made her way out.
"Where are you going? Who did you leave all these foods for?." Liu Longwei asked?
"Find someone to eat them, I've lost my appetite. I'm going to read, I have a baby now, so I've got to learn how to care for it." Chen Lihua replied as she completely disappeared from his sight.
Liu Longwei knew that he has just been tricked. He watched her walk away from his sight.
But it would be better to say she escaped rather than walked away from his sight.
Chen Lihua knew that she couldn't eat the food when they were served, but she couldn't say anything for fear of angering her husband.
Liu Longwei didn't like the idea of food being wasted.
The worst about this ordeal was that she didn't even touch any of them.
It was as if the food was prepared to feed her sight rather than her appetite.
Liu Longwei glanced at the dining table and saw the displayed food. Then he glanced at the direction his wife disappeared to.
He suddenly developed a headache as he massaged his temples.
The only reason that was stopping him from eating the food on the table was that he didn't like the dishes.
The only thing he could eat was the steak, and then the fruits.
As for the Korean dishes, he didn't think he could stomach that, so he abandoned them.
Later, he went into his bedroom, only to see his wife sitting on the bed with a book in her hands.

She seemed so engrossed with reading that she didn't bother to take a look at him.
Liu Longwei rolled the tray of food into the room. Then he glanced at the book in her hands and discovered that it was a book on pregnancy.
"Come and have some food." He said to her as he opened the played to reveal the platter of fruits and steak.
"Later." Chen Lihua gave a simple reply without turning her head.
With her behavior, one can tell she wasn't even interested in the food.
"Lihua, you need to eat something, I'm sure the baby is hungry now. Our baby has not eaten anything since this morning." Liu Longwei lamented.
He finally got her attention with that sentence.
Chen Lihua moved the book to the side and glanced at him.
"How do you know the baby is hungry?." She asked him as a smirk turned up on her face.
"I just know." Liu Longwei replied.
Chen Lihua stared at him for some seconds before giving up.
"What do you have there?." She asked.
Liu Longwei smiled as he went ahead to reveal what he got.
"Let me have the steak." Chen Lihua demanded.
"No, the steak is for me. The fruit salad is yours." Liu Longwei said as he passed the plate of fruits to her.
Chen Lihua took the plate from him as she complained.
"Why can't I eat the steak? It's mine, I ordered it."
"It was yours until I saw on the internet that raw and undercooked meat wasn't good for pregnant women. So now, the steak belongs to me." Liu Longwei said to her.
Chen Lihua glanced at his serious-looking face before giving up the idea of begging him for a bite.
"Ask them to turn these fruits into juice, or I won't have it." She said, definitely out to piss him off.
"Are you throwing a tantrum?." Liu Longwei asked.
"Yes." Chen Lihua replied without denying that fact.
Liu Longwei stared at her wordlessly before taking the plate from her.
He stood to his feet and took a few steps towards the door, before looking back to catch Chen Lihua's eyes on the steak.
He changed his mind and walked back to sit on the bed.
"Why did you come back?." Chen Lihua asked in surprise, for she almost had an opportunity to take a bite from the steak.
"The maids will do it." Liu Longwei replied to her as he picked up the telephone to order the servants.
Chen Lihua could only watch him helplessly.
A few minutes later, Chen Lihua sipped her glass of freshly squeezed juice as she watched Liu Longwei dissect the steak with his cutlery, before putting a piece in his mouth.
He chewed on the steak and swallowed it before saying.
"The steak is delicious. I would have loved to give you some, but your condition says otherwise." Liu Longwei teased her.
Chen Lihua rolled her eyes at him. "I can see you are having so much fun teasing me."
Now, a piece of steak remained on the plate.
Liu Longwei picked it up with his fork and glanced at his wife who had her back towards him.
"Sweetheart, take a bite." Liu Longwei said to her as he stretched the price of steak towards her.
Chen Lihua sat up on the bed immediately and turned towards him.
Liu Longwei sent the steak to her mouth as he watched her chew it happily.
"Thank you, you're the best husband in the world." Chen Lihua said with a mouth full of meat.
"Eat it slowly."
Liu Longwei chided her with a smile as he thought, 'look how happy she is from getting to taste the steak.'

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
