Chen Lihua kept troubling Liu Longwei, but he never got angry with her. He even found her never-ending change of facial expressions.

Sometimes, he would look for her trouble, as if daring her on what she can do.

The second time he tried looking for her trouble, he was caught by Lady Chen who came to check things out.

Since his wife didn't want to see him, he had to make her stare at him, so he squats some distance away from her, where her hands would not be able to reach him.

He also took away the bottle of water that was beside her, just in case she wanted to throw it on him.

He exchanged glances with Chen Lihua with a smirk on his face. Chen Lihua just had to shut her eyes just in case she was tempted to kill him out of anger.

And it was at this point that Lady Chen walked into the room and caught him red-handed.

"Are you trying the limit to her patience?." Lady Chen asked him with a smirk on her face and as she folded her arms.

Liu Longwei smiled without saying anything.

"Just be careful with her, you know she turns into a tigress when she is angry, and especially at this time she is going through pain." Lady Chen reminded him.

"Mum, you know I can hear you right?!." Chen Lihua asked through gritted teeth with her eyes still shut, as she continued to practice her exercise and breathing techniques.

"Yeah, I know. I'm leaving... I just came by to check on you, and I can see you are doing pretty well." Lady Chen said as she turned to walk away.

"Thank you. But please take this man that is staring at me like a piece of candy away, he is distracting me." Chen Lihua said to her mother while still maintaining her initial position.

"No, stay with him. You need at least one family member to stay with you now, and be is a perfect choice. If I were to stay with you, I will be tempted to give you a piece of my mind when you give me those attitudes. Your husband has a high level of tolerance which I lack, so, stay with him." Lady Chen said before she finally stepped out of the room, and closed the door behind her.

Chen Lihua opened her eyes and glanced at the closed door while asking in a low annoyed tone, "Like seriously, who asked you stay?."

Seeing how angry and frustrated his wife was, Liu Longwei got the cue to disappear before she returned to her position.

And truly when Chen Lihua turned back, she didn't see Liu Longwei up close, so she closed her eyes and continued with her exercises.

Chen Lihua took a bathroom break after the doctor checked up on her.

"Come and lie down, your cervix has fully dilated." The doctor said to her when she returned.

"Now, you can't take any more water, but you still can. But I'm just avoiding you doing something embarrassing during labor." The doctor added while giving her a meaningful glance.

The bed was now arranged, and the delivery mat had already been placed on the bed, so Chen Lihua lay on the bed as the doctor adjusted the upper part of it.

"Like peeing on the bed, or my child?." Chen Lihua asked as she stretched her legs.

"Yes, something like that. I shouldn't bother about it, but I'm worried you might regret your actions, so I decided to warn you. But that doesn't mean you can't drink water if you want to." The doctor said to her.

"Thank you for your kind reminder, but I'm not taking any more water." Chen Lihua said to her before shutting her eyes.

Liu Longwei chuckled softly after trying hard to hold in his laughter. The doctor really knew his wife so well.

Chen Lihua could hear him chuckle, but she was not in the mood to bother with him. All she was thinking about ways on how to give birth to their child and have peace of mind, nothing more.

At this moment, Liu Dongmei was called in, so she can record the whole process of childbirth. But Liu Longwei asked her to leave the place the phone at a good angle and leave, but Chen Lihua stopped him.

Liu Dongmei was happy to stay.

The doctor didn't need a crowd in the room, so she only allowed Liu Longwei and Liu Dongmei to stay as Chen Lihua's family members.

There were two nurses in the room as well. Actually, one was an anesthesiologist.

Preeclampsia can also affect the baby, especially during the stressful process of delivery. Complications that could arise for the baby during delivery include Impairment of blood and oxygen flow across the placenta, the placenta detaching from the uterus too early, or placental eruption, complications associated with prematurity, such as breathing problems due to underdeveloped lungs, or even death.

With all these, and her high blood pressure, the doctor can't delay the labor anymore, so she injected her with the hormone, Oxytocin to start labor.

During labor, management of preeclampsia involves medications that help to stabilize the blood pressure and prevent seizures. Magnesium sulfate may be injected to prevent seizures.

Because the doctor saw the signs earlier, that Chen Lihua might experience seizures, so she got the magnesium sulfate ready just before her contractions got stronger.

The doctor also gave Chen Lihua anti-hypertension drugs such as hydralazine (Apresoline) and labetalol (Normodyne, Trandate) to lower her blood pressure gradually.

Chen Lihua was also given gas (a mixture of Oxygen and another gas called nitrous oxide) to breathe in.

Because the doctor couldn't monitor everything, one of the nurses was in charge to continually monitor Chen Lihua's knee reflexes after she received the magnesium sulfate.

Loss of knee reflexes is the first sign of hypermagnesemia, or elevated magnesium levels in the blood, which can lead to respiratory paralysis and cardiac arrest if not monitored.

(Babies born prematurely due to preeclampsia may also experience numerous long-term health issues depending on how early they were born. These include learning disorders, physical disabilities, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, deafness, blindness).

But God was on Chen Lihua's side because her baby wouldn't experience any health issues. And to make sure of that, the doctor checked and monitored the baby for a long time.

The only thing the doctor hopes for, was for Chen Lihua not to experience seizures during the birth of the baby, and end up suffocating him.

So, she gave her magnesium sulfate to prevent her from getting seizures.
