Chen Lihua thought he would not put his mouth on her nipple again, but he shocked her again.

"The little guy is so small, so he shouldn't have a big appetite at this age." Liu Longwei said in reply as he covered her breast.

"He is so small, but he eats several times a day." Chen Lihua reminded him.

Liu Longwei sighed as he sat up properly. Then he licked his lips as he gazed at Chen Lihua as a smile played on his lips.

"What a shameless man! You were dragging your son's food with him. What made you this shameless?." Chen Lihua asked with her brows creased.

"I have always been this shameless. But because of you and the kind of personality you had, I decided to lock away this part of me. On second thought, I decided to show my true nature. It's actually more fun teasing you. I love your facial expressions." Liu Longwei said.

"I can see you derive joy in pissing me off rather than teasing." Chen Lihua said as she stared into his eyes.

Liu Longwei chuckled softly as he said to her. "When will that little guy be full? Can you actually tell, so you don't overfeed him?".

"Not really. I can't tell. And he is too little to take his mouth away when he is full. I think he is okay now." Chen Lihua said as she took her breast from the child's mouth and hid it inside her clothing.

Why do I need to burp my baby?

There are some important reasons to burp a baby immediately after eating.

It's important to burp the baby at each feeding. When the baby drinks, she can't help but swallow a little air along with her breast milk or formula. But having those air bubbles trapped in her tummy can make her feel uncomfortable and full before she's really finished eating.

That's why burping a baby to bring up any excess air that's accumulated is such an important part of the feeding process.

A couple of tips to help you burp your baby successfully:

Protect your clothes by always keeping a burp cloth or bib between your outfit and baby's mouth.

Keep a cloth, diaper, or bib handy in case the baby spits up.

A gentle pat or rub may get the burp up for most babies, but some need a slightly firmer hand.

Focus on the left side of the baby's back, which is where your little one's stomach is located.

Fussing in the middle of feeding may be due to discomfort from swallowed air, and continued fussing causes her to swallow more air — leading to more crankiness and possibly spitting up. Instead, try burping the baby right away to see if it's an air bubble in her tummy that's causing her to protest).

There are different positions to try out in other to get a baby to burp.

On your shoulder: Hold your baby firmly against your shoulder. Support her bottom with one hand, and pat or rub her back with the other.

Face-down on your lap: Place your baby's tummy down across your lap (her stomach will be on one of your legs, her head on the other, turned sideways, with her head supported and slightly higher than her chest). With one hand securely holding the baby, pat or rub her back with the other.

Sitting up: Hold your baby in a seated position on your lap, leaning slightly forward. Support baby's head and chest with one arm while you pat or rub with the other.

Walking: Once your baby has good head control, you can try holding her upright in front of you, facing out, while you stand and walk. Put one hand under her bottom and the other arm across her tummy to apply light pressure. The motion may help give an additional release of any trapped air bubbles.

But Chen Lihua chose the first method. While sitting, she placed the baby on her shoulder as she rubbed his back while the other handheld him at the bottom.

A small smile played on Liu Longwei's lips as he watched his wife, care for their son.

"Why are you doing that to him?." He asked curiously.

"He needs to burp because there is a high possibility that he swallowed air when eating." Chen Lihua explained to the curious father.

"Oh!." Liu Longwei said.

After the baby burped, Chen Lihua smiled in satisfaction before handing the baby over to Liu Longwei so he could lay him in his cot since she couldn't stand with the baby in her arms.

It took some effort for Chen Lihua to help herself up after Liu Longwei took the child from her.

Her face grimaced 😬 in pain as she helped herself up from the seat to the bed.

Since the baby's bed had tires, Liu Longwei wheeled the cot close to the bed, before helping Chen Lihua to lie on the bed.

"Look at the way he's sleeping so peacefully." Chen Lihua said as she gazed at her son.

"Who do you think he looks like?." Chen Lihua asked as she glanced at Liu Longwei.

Without much thought, Liu Longwei replied, "There is no doubt that he looks like you."

"If that's what you think, then I believe you. Because right now, I can't tell who he looks like." Chen Lihua as she laid on the bed properly.

"Lihua?." Liu Longwei called out as he walked to the bedside before sitting on it. Then he stretched his hands towards Chen Lihua, and she moved away in fright.

Liu Longwei chuckled softly before taking her hands in his.
