Now hearing her demand for something sugary, he remembered that she was pregnant, and must be having the cravings to eat something sweet.

Looking away just before the servant left her side, he continued to work. He has some unfinished business, so he had to go on with it.

The kitchen was very fast with Chen Lihua's orders, that they brought three doughnuts 🍩 within ten minutes.

As Chen Lihua took a bite from the doughnut, she immediately felt relieved because that was the taste she was craving.

After eating two bites, she drank some of the juice and continued to eat the doughnut. She finished two at once before going back to her work, without knowing that her actions were all taken note of by Liu Longwei.

When Chen Lihua got exhausted, she. closed her laptop and left the study for Liu Longwei's bedroom.

She washed up and went down for dinner, but still, Liu Longwei didn't come down to join her.

"If he is not happy with something, shouldn't we talk about it, why is he ignoring me?." Chen Lihua asked in a soft tone. She didn't like the idea of Liu Longwei being by himself and not saying anything to her, it was heart-wrenching.

Chen Lihua had dinner with Taio. Taio asked about his father, but Chen Lihua told him he was still working and would eat later.

Taio could only nod and continued to feed himself.

After dinner, he wanted to watch the Tv, but Chen Lihua refused.

"It's late, go to bed. Tomorrow, you can watch the Tv." Chen Lihua said to him as she took his hand.

"Mum, tell me stories," Taio said to her.

"Okay, Mum, will read bedtime stories to you." Chen Lihua said with a smile as she took him to his bedroom.

She picked up a storybook and lifted the guy to the bed, then she sat on the bed and rested Taio's head on her thighs.

"Are you comfortable?." She asked him with the book in hand.

"Yes," Taio replied in his cute little voice.

Chen Lihua smiled, then holding the book with one hand, she began to read the story out to him, in a gentle tone, while the other hand caressed his hair.

Within minutes, Taio became sleepy, but he was so stubborn and refused to close his eyes because he wanted to hear the end of the story, So Chen Lihua had to increase her reading pace a bit, so the little guy wouldn't suffer much.

"Taio, the story has come to an end." Chen Lihua notified the little guy as she closed the book and kept it on his bedside.

"Ok. Goodnight Mummy." Taio said as he finally closed his eyes.

"Good night baby." Chen Lihua replied as she caressed his hair with a loving gaze.

After five minutes, when she heard his evened breathing, she gently placed his head on his soft children's pillow, before covering his body with a duvet.

Heaving a sigh of relief, she glanced at the wall clock in his room.

"He must be in the bedroom by now." Chen Lihua whispered to herself before taking light steps out of the room.

Getting to Liu Longwei's bedroom, she didn't see anyone in sight, and she didn't hear any sounds. And Just to be sure, she checked in the walk-in closet and the bathroom, but she didn't see at sight Liu Longwei, so she concluded that he was still working.

"Is he still angry with me?." Chen Lihua asked as she turned off the room lights, leaving on the dim lights from the table lamp.

Climbing into bed, she covered her body with a duvet and closed her eyes, but she couldn't sleep, because her conscience was pricking her.

She got her husband annoyed but refused to apologize to him because of pride. And because she was restless, she began to think about a lot of things in other to fall asleep, but it didn't work.

Lying in bed with her eyes closed, she decided to wait for Liu Longwei to come back to the room, so she could apologize.

Liu Longwei not knowing that his wife was disturbed and wanted to apologize to him gave his all to finish all his work, and the ones he was supposed to carry out in the office.

Liu Longwei walked till 11:30 PM before discovering that it was too late. He was worried about Chen Lihua because she was pregnant, so he tidied up his desk before leaving his study.

Thinking that Chen Lihua might not want to stay in his bedroom tonight, he sighed to himself before going to his son's bedroom, to check on him, and also to check if she was there.

Liu Longwei walked into the room with gentle steps, but he did not see Chen Lihua's figure, so he kept calm and listened for sounds from the washroom and closet, but he didn't hear any, so he concluded that she wasn't there.

Glancing at his son who was sleeping peacefully, a gentle smile appeared on his lips. He lowered himself to kiss Taio's forehead before placing the duvet properly on his body.

Liu Longwei heaved a sigh before taking the elevator back to the top floor. He checked Chen Lihua's bedroom for any sight of her, but there was none.

Now knowing that she was sleeping on his bed, his heartfelt better. At least she didn't choose to sleep separately from him.

Liu Longwei walked into the bedroom and saw the figure lying on his bed with her back against the door, and he finally sighed in relief.

He walked into the washroom to have his bath before climbing into bed.

Chen Lihua was still awake when he entered the bedroom, but she refused to make a sound. And when he climbed into the bed, her heart started racing.

Liu Longwei glanced at Chen Lihua and made sure she was sleeping properly, before laying down on the bed. His little actions showed that he still cared about his wife, even though he was still unhappy with her words earlier that day.
