Training went well and Gible is ready, Manaphy will be his second pokemon if Gible loses but he wants to use Gible alone in this battle.

Julian is confident in taking on this gym with Gible alone but no matter how confident he is he will never look down on an opponent so he had to prepare Manaphy as well. ​​

Ash then sent out his Turtwig and after a long battle, Onix goes down after being bombarded with a lot of Razor Leaves.

Soon the battle came down to Pikachu vs Rampardos as Rampardos took down Ash's Turtwig.

Yes, Roark's Cranidos has evolved into Rampardos, Julian didn't expect that Cranidos would evolve in a day, something must have happened for it to evolve that Julian didn't know about.

(It was team rocket, they tried to kidnap Cranidos and Pikachu but Cranidos evolved and defeated them)

The battle went on and Pikachu finally triumphed after landing an Iron Tail from the top while doing a spin.

The battle is over and Ash won his first badge.

Julian waited till Ash left so that he could challenge next.

Julian realized something, he could have always worn the mask he was wearing to cover his face and avoid everyone without getting suspected, he could have easily done this in Hoenn, there is no rule saying you had to show your face to challenge a gym.

Julian 'For fu*k sake, What is wrong with me'

Julian screamed in his mind, he couldn't believe how stupid his mind gets when it comes to the small stuff.

He could have easily bought this mask for a few bucks and protected his face from getting revealed to the whole public.

He could have directly shown up for the league without anyone finding out that he is here, he might use his face for some important reason and the rest he could just cover it up with his cloth mask and his hood can cover his head.

Julian 'Well anyways it has already happened'

He thought and walked towards Roark who just sent off Ash.

Roark noticed Julian walking towards him, he remembered seeing Julian yesterday at the audience seat but didn't know his purpose.

Julian "I am here to challenge the Gym"

Roark "Oh, you have to wait for a while my pokemons are getting healed"

Julian "I can wait"

He said and went back to the battlefield and waited.

Roark 'He was here yesterday, so he is also a trainer, maybe he wanted to watch how I battle to come up with a strategy'

Roark thought and waited for his pokemons to get back to full health.

Julian didn't understand why Roark doesn't have any other pokemons other than those three.

Julian nodded, he was surprised to find out the gym leader of Canalave city is Roark's father, he has heard that the gym leader of Canalave is very strong and that is why he won't allow anyone who doesn't have at lease five badges with them to challenge him.

The old man that was at the receptionist also walked in and took the referee position and instructed Julian to take his place.

Julian nodded and walked to the challenger's corner while Roark too his usual spot.

Referee "This will be a three on three pokemon battle, only the challenger is allowed to switch his pokemon during the battle, the trainer who will have no pokemon at the end of the battle will lose, am I clear?"

Julian and Roark nodded.

Referee "Ten, you may choose your pokemons"

Roark "I will go first, go Onix"

Roark sent his Onix as his first pokemon.

Julian 'He wants to tire down my first pokemon by using Onix's high health and defense'

Julian assumed this as Roark's plan.

Julian "Gible, let's go"

Julian sent out his Gible, Gible came out and hopped side to side with his two tiny legs and looked smug at the huge Onix in front of him.

Gible doesn't know any fear he would charge at a legendary pokemon to attack it if Julian left him to do so.

This will be Gible's first official battle and he is ready for it.

Seeing Julian's black Gible Roark is surprised, he had never seen a black Gible, he knows that he is not a shiny Gible as shiny Gible are bright blue with a yellow belly.

Julian's Gible is black with a bright red belly.

Roark "I have never seen a Gible like that, he is a special one"

Julian nodded.

Gible's color maybe like this because of his ancestor which might have had the same color as him, sometimes these hidden genes get passed down and show up in a very far future.

Julian had done some research on Pokemon and their color changes, there have been sightings of many pokemons with weird colors, people can only think it is due to some gene alteration or ancestry.

Julian remembered one, he was not there to see it but he still remembered watching it in anime in his old world, Ash's Butterfree got alone with a very rare pink Butterfree, he still remembered that scene.

There was also a report stating that a Black Tyranitar existed that terrorized Johto, it had powers equal to legendary pokemons and all the powerhouse during that time had to step up, work together and take down the Black Tyranitar and seal it in an ancient Pokeball made from Red Apricorn.

This was a true incident and people in Johto still talk about it sometimes.

People often mistake this rare occurrence in pokemons as Shiny but they are different.
