Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 590

With Julian taking the first point the crowd burst into cheers while Cynthia felt a little pressured, she thought that her Lucario can drag this one for a lot longer but Julian's Lucario proved to be a formidable foe.
She sighed and called her Lucario back and sent out her next pokemon, her Garchomp.
Seeing the Garchomp Julian smiled and called his Lucario back as well and sent out his own Garchomp, this time it is Julian's turn to mimic her and see who has the better Garchomp.
There is no way Cynthia's Garchomp can overpower his and she knows it, she has seen Julian's Garchomp taking down Tobias's Tyranitar as if that huge monster was nothing but she has a plan.
The battle started with both calling out a Dragon Pulse which ended up in a draw, they both seem to be equally matched in Special Attack but that didn't matter much.
Garchomps are Physical Attacker and they are ready to destroy, soon both Garchomps started to exchange physically and Julian's Garchomp is clearly the winner.
Seeing that she has no advantage over this battle Cynthia made her move and pulled out a keystone.
The Keystone started to shine brightly as the light traveled towards the tail of her Garchomp where the Mega stone is placed, seeing this Julian was surprised.
During his journey in Sinnoh, he tried to search for a Mega Stone for his pokemons but he was not lucky at all, the only one who got it was Victini as it was a special kind.
Julian looked at Cynthia's Garchomp as it physically started to change and grow bigger, as the light faded away he finally saw Garchomp's Mega Evolution, she lost her claw but the blade in her arm seems to have become a lot bigger and sharper as they replaced her claw.

Julian could feel the change in Cynthia's Garchomp but it is not enough to scare his, his Garchomp has been trained to take down even the toughest of opponents, his Physical Attack is ridiculous, even if Cynthia's Garchomp mega evolved it is not close to Julian's Garchomp's real strength.
The battle began again and both pokemon exchanged blows after blows but nobody seems to be coming on top, Julian also noticed that Cynthia's Garchomp now has a massive boost in her Physical strength while she sacrificed her speed.
Julian "Garchomp, Dragon Rush"
Cynthia "You too, Dragon Rush"
Both pokemon used Dragon Rush as two massive energy dragons collided with each other ripping apart the ground below them.
As the smoke cleared up the result is in and its a draw.
Julian/Cynthia "Dragon Rush"
Both used Dragon Rush again and once again the collision destroyed the ground beneath them as the tungsten below the ground slowly started to reveal itself.
It was another draw but Julian could clearly see his Garchomp winning, he has speed behind his Garchomp and they seem to be equal in strength, Julian underestimated the mega evolution of Cynthia's Garchomp but he also found out that it reduces her speed so Julian had nothing to be concerned about.
Julian/Cynthia "Dragon Rush"
They once again used Dragon Rush, this was not the battle of technique, this was the battle between the argument of who had the stronger pokemon and the direct clash is the best answer, this explosion ripped apart the ground and finally revealed the tungsten layer below but no one pains attention to it as they saw Cynthia's Garchomp being sent flying backward while Julian's stayed on the spot.
Julian "Finish this Dragon Rush"
With this Garchomp rushed towards hie opponent using Dragon Rush as the massive energy dragon chomped down on Cynthia's Garchomp, another massive explosion and Cynthia's Garchomp went crashing into the ground, knocked out.

This surprised Cynthia as she looked at Julian's Garchomp who still is standing with very few scratches over his body.
Cynthia 'Just how strong is that Garchomp? she questioned'
And called her Garchomp back to her Pokeball, she is now down to her last pokemon but it doesn't matter as this is her strongest, Julian knows this too so he called back his Garchomp and let him rest.
Cynthia sent out her Zoroark while Julian sent out his Lucario once again.
The battle started with Lucario using daggers as her weapon but to Julian's surprise, Cynthia's Zoroark was even faster than his Lucario, it then landed a very decisive hit on Lucario with a Night Slash which sent her rolling but Cynthia didn't stop there.
Cynthia "Dark Pulse"
As Lucario is still rolling on the ground Zoroark blasted a powerful Dark Pulse as her, the Dark Pulse hit her and sent her flying.
Cynthia "Finish it, Focus Blast"
Zoroark charged up a Focus Blast and sent it to Lucario.
Julian "Cut right through it"
As Lucario spun in the air, she opened her eyes and the daggers in her hand changed into a long sword and she slashed at the Focus Blast and split it into two.
Cynthia "Not so fast, get close and another Focus Blast"
As Lucario cut through the first one, Zoroark swiftly got close to her and blasted a Focus Blast at point-blank range.
Julian "Aura Sphere"
Lucario also quickly countered the Focus Blast with a powerful Aura Sphere out of nowhere, a massive explosion occurred and everyone could see both pokemon being sent flying back, Cynthia's Zoroark landed on his feet but Lucario crashed on the ground and rolled right in front of Julian.
Lucario got knocked out, that Focus Blast was just too close, Lucario's Aura Sphere backfired as it exploded right in her hands, she reached a little two slow.
Seeing this the whole stadium went quiet and then suddenly burst into an uproar as they realized what just happened, Julian's pokemon got knocked out, this is the second time this has been seen, first was when he battled Lance but that was a draw, this is a clear knockout.
Referee "Lucario is unable to battle, Zoroark wins".

It will be slow going, but power is granted suddenly and viciously, the story will be centered around a world gradually being exposed to supernatural powers and entities and how these changes affect mankind and individual people. Multiple main characters, some with stories that intertwine and others entirely separate and distinct. Heavily character focused. --- Any critique about anything at all is greatly appreciated.

The Blood Queen
The rain fell from the sky with ferocity and smashed into the pavement filling the air with the sound of a stampede. The noise was deafening as I struggled to stand up. The blood from my wound was covering the ground beneath me and I covered it with my hand as I pushed off the pavement. On my feet now I struggled to step towards the grass. Through the howling wind and pounding raindrops I could hear what sounded like a chant, calling me and drawing me towards the cliffs edge. "Vienna, my Queen, my blood Queen" I started to move my feet faster until I could run towards the edge. Only when I was at the edge did I turn and look back one last time at the castle behind me. I could see him standing on the balcony, he was screaming my name. I could just hear it over the rain. I unclipped my red cape and whispered goodbye to him. As he jumped off the balcony to run towards me I leaned backwards and let my body fall with the rushing water to the river far down below. I carried her whispers with me to the dark edge until they vanished.
