Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 948

After the training session and feeding his pokemons, Julian made his way back to his hotel room, everything is peaceful as its midnight and most of the people in the hotel are asleep except the hotel workers.
Some of them saw Julian and bowed before passing by him, he then made his way towards his room and opened the door, as soon as he did, he felt a cold breeze touching his face.
He blinked and looked at the dark room that was lit up by the faint light of the full moon coming through the open window.
Julian "Hm? I thought that I closed the window?"
He questioned himself and walked into the room and closed the door behind him and smiled, he then tried to switch on the lights but it didn't turn on.
Julian "Why is it not working? I should call the management"
He said and made his way towards the phone, as his back was turned a man suddenly appeared from the shadows and lunged at Julian with a dagger but before he could even come in contact with Julian, the man got suspended in mid-air.
Black shadow tentacles wrapped around his arms, legs, and neck, the man's eyes went wide as he saw this, he didn't expect this to happen at all.
He looked at Julian who slowly turned around and looked at him with a smile on his face, he couldn't see Julian's face properly as he was standing on the darker side of the room.
Julian "Dhrago, good to see you again"
Julian said and smiled looking at the man suspended in the air by Gengar, he couldn't believe Dhrago would actually come and try to assassinate him on his own.
Julian had to give it to Dhrago though, a normal person would have never noticed his presence or could never dodge that attack from him, Dhrago was clearly a professional who has done assassinations before.

Too bad for him, both Gengar and Julian noticed him as soon as they walked into the room.
Dhrago "You...How did you find out?"
He asked while struggling as the black shadow tentacle was slowly squeezing his neck.
Julian "Do you really think you could kill me just like that, you are not the first one who tried to do this, the last person who tried to kill me got eaten, I wonder what I should do to you?"
Julian asked while holding his jaw as if he is in deep thought.
Dhrago "Let go of me... What is this thing?"
Dhrago tried to struggle out but it was of no use, nothing could escape Gengar.
Julian "You don't need to worry about that anymore, you will be going into prison after all, for attempted murder"
Julian said with a smile.
Dhrago "Hahaha, you really think a jail could lock me up forever, I am Dhrago, they can't do shit to me"
Dhrago boasted.
Julian "From the sound of it, it looks like you have some powerful backing, am I right?"
Julian asked.
Dhrago "Of course, I have, I am part of the Underworld, the league would never dare to try something stupid by locking me up for too long!"
Dhrago boasted.
Julian "I see"
Julian nodded. He realized that Dhrago is indeed right, from what he knows the league and the world governments are on a stalemate against the underworld, if anyone makes a wrong move, the world will go to war again and the league and the world governments don't want that.
That is why the underworld is so powerful, they are a group of powerful organizations formed into a single powerful faction that can rival all the world governments and the league.

The league alone doesn't have enough power to take on the underworld as a whole, if there is full-blown war, the whole world will go into a war.
Julian realizes that the league won't take such risks and release Dhrago soon after some negotiations with the Underworld.
Julian "Then, it looks like I have to take matters into my own hands"
Julian said and stepped forward, as he got closer to Dhrago, the moonlight hit Julian's face and lightened it up, the light reflected from Julian's eyes causing his eyes to glow crimson, seeing this a chill rand down Dhrago's spine.
Dhrago "What are you doing?"
Dhrago panicked and asked.
Julian "I want you a reminded and maybe the people running the underworld as well, never to mess with me and the people around me"
Julian said and looked at Dhrago's knee and kicked it hard, since Gengar was grabbing onto his legs tightly, one of them suddenly snapped.
Dhrago screamed in pain as he felt his right leg snap, he looked down and saw his leg bone sticking out from his calf.
Julian "Let him go"
He ordered.
The shadow tentacles retreated and Dhrago fell on the ground and screamed in pain while holding onto his leg, due to him shouting the hotel workers were alarmed and they rushed towards Julian's room.
Julian walked out of the room and called the workers who were running towards him.
Julian "I was about to get assassinated, in self-defense I broke his leg, go call the police"
The hotel worker who was in front nodded and rushed away.
Within a few minutes the police stormed into the hotel and barricaded the crime scene, they saw Dhrago rolling around the floor with his leg broken, they then looked at Julian wondering what happened.
Julian just explained it to them and asked them to take Dhrago away, they nodded and brought a stretcher before taking him away.
Julian "The room is all bloody now"
He said as he looked at the bloody carpet.
"Don't worry Mr. Julian, we will get you a new room to rest for the night, please follow me"
The manager of this hotel said and brought Julian away, two police officers took Julian's statement and collected the dagger on the floor, Julian also called his lawyer and told him to handle the rest.

The Complete Alchemyst book 2
Continuation of the Alchemyst book 1 Sometimes to be the good guy, you gotta be the bad guy. This is a story about Louis, a guy that was just trying to get along before he got kidnapped and forced to play cook by a Cartel. He's no Heisenberg, however. Now that he's out of Prison and put a beat down on some of the folks that put him away, he's facing the real pressures of Life as a single-person superpower: Everyone wants to use him for their own purposes. Along the way he's met a few girls, some good, some bad. He's looking to save the world, establish an evil empire, secure a future for the people he considers his, and maybe finally kill that damned superhero that started it all. This is not 'the boys'. Not all superheroes or supervillains are evil, The 'super' world is expanding to include aliens, magic, and the children of ancient deities and legends. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate.
