Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 999

After spending the night in his hotel room, Julian went back to the cliff again, he did catch a lot of Claunchers there but none of them met his criteria but he knew he could find one, as there will always be one pokemon that is special in the herd.
He continued fishing, this time there is no one around him, it was just him, the waves crashing into the cliff, the sound of wind rushing around him, he waited as he caught several pokemons, to his surprise, he even caught some normal fish which is quite rare in the wild as they get eaten up by pokemons.
Julian decided to use this fish as bait and tossed it back into the chaotic water and as soon as he did so, a pokemon suddenly lunged out of the water and grabbed the fish with its claw, as soon as he saw this, Julian pulled the fishing rod as fast as possible.
He knew if he had waited any longer, the pokemon's claw would have ripped the fish in half and got away with the bait, because of Julian's choice, the pokemon was pulled out of its domain and flung into the sky.
He then reeled it in towards him, the Pokemon is none other than Clauncher, this was what Julian was looking for, as soon as Clauncher landed on the ground, Julian sent out his Porygon to battle.
As soon as Clauncher landed, it used its bigger claw and aimed it directly at Porygon and shot Water Gun at Porygon, Porygon just analyzed its opponent and waited for Julian's command.
Julian "Use Protect"
Porygon used Protect and blocked the Water Gun easily.
Julian "Now, Thunderbolt"
After easily blocking the Water Gun, Porygon retaliated with a Thunderbolt striking down Clauncher and knocking it out cold.

Julian threw a Pokeball and captured it as well, catching Clauncher and Skrelp was easy, but training them will be a lot harder.
Julian picked up the Pokeball and brought it out, Clauncher looked weak but Julian fed it some berries to heal it, he then took the pokemon to the pokemon center and heal it properly.
Both his new pokemons are male and with good potential.
Now that he looks at his team, he is surprised by it, he didn't even face his second gym and he already has five pokemons with him.
Porygon, Flabébé, Honedge, Skrelp, Clauncher.
Though he caught a lot of pokemon at the very beginning, he was quite happy with it, catching pokemons he wanted very early was a great sign, he could train them much better than pokemons that he will find later in his journey.
With everything set, he knew it was time to continue towards Cyllage city, he went back to his hotel room and got ready to leave, he didn't waste any time and left the town as he has nothing to do here.
The route he has to take is very long as it goes around the mountain, along the way, he focused on training his two new pokemon, Skrelp, and Clauncher, his main focus was on Clauncher as his being a water type will give Julian an advantage, during the beginning of the journey, Julian has to take advantage of all the typing advantages that he can get because pokemons at the lower level are not that different in strength, a few levels between them can be easily overcome by type advantage moves.
A few good hits and a lower level pokemon can take down a higher-level one, the difference between levels can only be seen when pokemon reaches a higher level as each level up feels like a milestone to them, and the power-up that it brings is also massive.

After training Clauncher and Skrelp on the basics of battling and how to make themselves useful on the battlefield, Julian continued up route 8, after a few days of traveling he was finally able to see the city of rocks.
He could see massive mountains towering towards the sky while small buildings could be seen at the foot of the mountain.
Though it looked like a small city from his viewpoint, the city in fact is quite massive as many buildings follow the mountain's shape and circles around it.
Julian descended down the mountain and entered the city, as he had expected, the city is busting with people and most of them have a rock-type pokemon with them, being a mountain region it is expected to have a lot of rock pokemons around here.
Like every other city, this city is filled with people walking around and doing their daily business, Julian soon found himself a hotel and rented a room, this city didn't have much that caught his attention, the only thing Julian is interested in his gym battle.
Sitting inside his hotel room, Julian is looking at the info being displayed on his laptop about Cyllage city's gum leader Grant, the gym leader is known to be very strong and is also a Duke in the Battle Chateau, this alone makes him a very strong opponent.
But things will be different when Julian will be battling him as he will be Julian's second challenge, Grant won't be able to use his ace team to go against Julian, he needs to use the regular pokemons that he uses against other challengers.
Julian soon started to look into Grant's team.

Restaurant Core
A dungeon core that wants to feed others instead of itself. Can this dungeon overcome its challenging start in a goblin cave? Will it achieve its dream of being the ultimate restaurant or will it be forced to concede to its own nature as a dungeon core? Follow Regis the dungeon and his loyal hobgoblin servant Strum in this dungeon's quest to become the one and only Restaurant Core. I started this to give me a more humorous character-centric narrative to explore. I also wanted to poke fun at the typical dungeon core story by turning it on its head. Who knows, maybe you'll learn a recipe or two from it. Hope you enjoy!Updates at least once a week. Special thanks to Asviloka for so much help in the art direction of the cover. Much love to her. And some thanks to carebear90 for their invaluable input during the process. Asviloka's profile: https://www.royalroad.com/profile/108594

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
