Grant didn't attack outright as he wanted to learn more about his opponent's pokemon, seeing that Grant didn't want to make the first move, Julian decided to help him start this battle.

Julian "Use Water Gun"

Clauncher opened his bigger claw and shot a stream of fast water beam, seeing the incoming attack Grant quickly thought of something and made his move.

Grant "Use Ice Beam"

For now, he decided to counter, for now, he knows his Amaura is a better special attacker than Clauncher, and using Ice Beam, a more powerful attack than Water Gun should allow his Amaura to push back.

The two attacks collided and as soon as the Ice Beam touched the Water Gun, it froze the water in place and continued towards Clauncher freezing water along the way.

As the Ice Beam was about to touch Clauncher, Julian commanded Clauncher to dodge the Ice Beam.

Clauncher moved to the side and moved away from the dangerous Ice Beam, Julian watched as the Ice Beam hit the ground which caused small ice shards to form around it.

Julian was testing the water and now he knows that Amaura is a much better special attacker than he thought, even though he had interacted with one before, he didn't see its full potential in battle, and now he knows.

Clauncher crawled to the side and kept his focus on his opponent, even though he hasn't spent that much time under Julian, he understands the basics and knows that he should never lose sight of his opponent.

With locked focus, Clauncher waited for Julian to make another command.

Julian only took a few seconds to come up with a strategy, after figuring out what kind of pokemon Amaura is, he knew he had to get close and deliver some powerful physical attacks as Amaura could just keep countering his Clauncher's attacks as it being a superior special attacker.

Julian "Use Aqua Jet"

Clauncher knew few moves before Julian caught him and Aqua Jet is one of them, he decided to use the momentum that Aqua Jet can build to get closer to Amaura faster.

Clauncher pointed his bigger claw at Amaura and covered himself in a veil of water and suddenly charged at Amaura, as Aqua Jet activated Clauncher's speed increased as he shot towards Amaura.

Seeing how Julian decided to approach Grant, he didn't know what Julian was planning, this was clearly a flawed way to approach an opponent who is a special attacker and is at distance, Grant didn't have much time to think about it and decided to take advantage of this situation and win against Julian.

He wondered if it was really this easy to win against Julian.

Grant "Use Ice Beam"

Amaura locked onto the incoming Aqua Jet and shot an Ice Beam at it, as soon as the Ice Beam made contact with the Aqua Jet, it froze the water surrounding Clauncher in an instant.

Due to the sudden change, the now ice block became heavy and was pulled down by gravity, the ice block which looked like an ice bullet slowly lost all its momentum and slowly slid towards Amaura until it came to a complete standstill.

Grant looked at Julian and back at the block of ice that was right in front of his Amaura, he couldn't believe he won so easily against Julian, one of the stronger trainer in the world but this thought of his only lasted for a few seconds as he realized something was off, he saw a smile on Julian's face and it isn't a smile of a person who just lost a battle.

Julian "Now Crabhammer"

The ice block suddenly shattered and Clauncher burst out of it swinging his massive claw which is glowing blue covered in concentrated water energy, Crabhammer is one of the moves Clauncher already knew.

Grant realized that he fell into a trap and quickly commanded his Amaura to get out of there but it was too late.

Grant "QUICK DODGE!"

He shouted but he was too late, the glowing claw of Clauncher landed on the chin of Amaura which caused its whole body to crash into the ground hard causing dust to rise up.

As soon as the dust settled down, Amaura could be seen on the floor motionless, it got knocked out, though a stronger special attacker and special defender, its physical defense was not enough for it to take a full power Crabhammer which is one of the stronger physical water-type attacks which it is also weak to.
