Journey Towards Greatness Chapter 1039

Grunt "What ere you looking at?'
The grunt asked and turned around to see a tall man standing right behind him, though this man is wearing a mask, the grunt could tell he is smiling because of the man's squinted eyes.
He was about to alert everyone but before he could, he was hit on the side of his neck by a chop, his body suddenly went limp and he fell on the ground, Julian caught the gun before it hit the ground as he didn't want it to accidentally fire a bullet.
The fat man looked at Julian with a nervous gaze as he doesn't know what this man wants.
Julian "You should be the manager right?"
Julian asked.
Manager "Yes, yes, I am the manager"
The manager answered hurriedly.
Julian "What is happening here?"
Manager "I don't know, these people calling themselves Team Flare suddenly appeared and took over the power plant, they knocked out the guards and I have been held hostage by them from yesterday night.
I really wanted to go home, my wife and daughter are waiting for me back at home, please let me go"
The manager started to beg and cry.
Julian looked at the manager and knew that Team Flare must have scared him out of his mind for him to act like this.
Julian "You stay here for a while and inform the authorities, there are still some grunts outside who needs to be taken care of, if you go out you will get killed"
Julian informed him.
Manager "Then what should I do?"
He asked afraid for his life.
Julian "As I said, inform the authority and tell me about the leader of this group who came here and where they are"
Manager "The leader is some woman with orange hair and is wearing weird goggles, she locked me up here with that grunt and headed towards the power room where most of the plant's activity happens, the reserve energy for the region is also stored there, if anything goes wrong, the whole plant will blow up destroying cities and villages around the power plant"

The Manager warned Julian while telling him about the leader of the grunts present here.
Julian nodded his head and told the manager to take his seat back on his chair, he then lifted the unconscious grunt and put him on his chair again, he took out some duck tape and tied his legs to the chair's legs and his hands to its armrest.
If someone looked from outside, no one will be able to notice, he also put duct tape on his mouth so that if he wakes up, he doesn't alert anyone, he then handed over the gun to the manager so if anything does go wrong, he can protect himself.
Julian told the manager to take his seat and slowly looked out of the window to see if there are any grunts around, he noticed a grunt standing next to the door and yawning from boredom.
He also noticed two guards at the end of the hall as well.
Julian 'This should be easy'
Julian thought and walked close to the door and slowly opened it, the grunt who was guarding the door noticed the door opening and turned his head to see what is happening, as soon as he turned his head, he was grabbed by the back of his head with his mouth shut by his attacker's hand.
He tried to struggle but his attacker was clearly overpowering him, he then felt his head behind smashed against the wall, the back of his head didn't come in contact with the wall, Julian used his own hand as a cushion to lessen the blow.
If Julian had smashed his head directly on that wall, the grunt would have suffered some serious trauma, even though Julian used his hand to cushion the blow, it was still enough to rattle the grunt's brain inside his head and knock him out cold.

Julian gently put the grunt down and told Gengar to swallow him up into the dimension, Gengar opened his shadow portal and dragged the unconscious grunt.
Julian then walked out of the room and slowly walked towards the grunts who were at the end of the hall, with their backs turned they didn't notice Julian coming towards them at all.
Julian got right behind them and smacked the back of their neck with enough force to knock them out unconscious, Gengar then sent them into the shadow realm allowing Julian to continue forward.
Julian avoided most of the grunts and headed towards the power room of the plant, it was not very hard to find the power room because he saw the wires that were attached to the high-tech vehicles outside the power plant and he guessed that it must be heading towards power room.
Julian followed the wires and on his way, he did encounter some grunts but they were easily disposed of by Julian himself, he could have made Gengar do all the hard work but he was missing the fun of sneaking around and eliminating enemies as he did in his past life during assassination missions.
Julian soon found the power room and its door is wide open with multiple power wires going into them, Julian looked inside the room and noticed a few grunts and a woman standing in front of a massive screen.

Blue Hills
Nothing had ever felt quite right for Alexander Adamson. He'd worked his way up to a job he could tolerate, a few casual friends, and even a nice little apartment that he could call his own, though it really wasn't. The problem was that none of it was satisfying. It was as though he were going through the motions of a life, rather than having one of his own. Of course, it didn't exactly feel right when he woke up in a strange bed in the middle of nowhere. Nor when he was told that he was now the proud owner and operator of a local farm. A farm that had belonged to a late uncle he'd never known. But with the first train out of town a full 'season' away, he had plenty of time to get used to the idea. Plenty of time, perhaps, to even get to like the strange little town of Blue Hills. I have a discord now. Marvel at my ability to somehow still be antisocial on the other side of a screen! Back from hiatus along with my other fiction. Chapters are on a Thurs/Sun schedule until book 3 of that fiction is completed, at which point I'll be updating this daily. At which point uh.... I dunno what I'm going to do.

Travelers [DROPPED]
DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?
