915. Rip Open The Face (1)Translator: Guy Gone Bad
“Jump, jump!” Cang Qian, brandishing a fire whip, commanded the little sea monster to do high jump.
If the little sea monster did it slow, Cang Qian would slash him with the fire whip, making the little sea monster scream.
Mo Fei helplessly found that the Cang Qian no longer tortured the little golden flood dragon, but the little sea monster now. Although he kind of thought that the sea monster was a bit annoying, seeing him being beaten like that, he still felt sorry for him.
“Senior, what are you doing?” Mo Fei asked nervously while looking at the Cang Qian.
Cang Qian smiled brightly at Mo Fei and said, “Can’t you see? I’m helping this guy lose weight!”
Mo Fei, “…” Senior, you are at least a semi-immortal level of master! Aren’t you ashamed that such a master as you, so condescending, has tormenting a little sea monster?
“Senior, he is still small. He can’t take that from you.” Mo Fei shivered.
Cang Qian said disapprovingly, “Small? I don’t think so.”
“He’s only a few years old. He’s just a kid.” Mo Fei was full of sincerity to look at Cang Qian.
Cang Qian blinked, looking a bit solemn, “Is he still a child? Only a kid and he is already this fat? Then he needs to lose more weight!”
Mo Fei shook his head and said, “Senior, their race advocates getting fat. The fatter, the more popular. His shape is already the slimmest in his race.”
Cang Qian opened his eyes wide, full of suspicion, “There are such a race?”
Mo Fei nodded, “Yes! Yes!”
“It seems that their whole race needs to lose weight!” Cang Dian smugged.

Mo Fei, “…”
“Why wasn’t I born in that race?” Cang Qian sighed regretfully.
Mo Fei was full of flattery to say, “senior, your present body shape is just right, a little bit more, you’d look too fat, and a little bit less, you’d look too thin.”
Cang Qian cocked his head, looked at Mo Fei and said, “Really?”
Mo Fei nodded. “Yes! Yes!”
Cang Qian looked at Mo Fei with satisfaction, and said with a smile, “You have good taste.”
Mo Fei, “…”
“Roar…” A dragon roar sounded, mixed with dense anger.
And then a huge fire bird rose into the air with a shrill chirp.
“Something has happened.” Cang Qian looked at the fire bird in distance, slightly frowning.
Mo Fei’s face changed, that direction? The little golden flood dragon, Boss Lou, Zheng Yu and Zheng Wudi were all there.
He then instantly darted in that direction without another word, and at the same moment several figures on the hill also darted in that direction.
Cang Qian’s eyes flashed a cold light. He left a feather on Boss Lou, if Boss Lou encountered any danger, that feather will automatically protect him. Now the feather had turned into a fire bird, that represented that Boss Lou was attacked.
Cang Qian slightly turned his head sideways. That feather was just in case. But he never expected that someone would really dare touch Boss Lou. One should know, in all fights inside the phoenix race, kids would not get involved.
…
Chains entangled the body of the little golden flood dragon, who looked both frightened and angry, tried to dive toward the one who sneak attacked them, but the chains grew even tighter.
There was a red shield around Boss Lou, Zheng Yu and Su Wudi protecting them, so they didn’t get hurt or what, but all got intimidated, with tears on their faces.

Seeing that fire bird, Mo Fei knew it was Cang Qian, so in his heart he grew some gratitude toward him.
Mo Yi was lying on the ground, weakly breathing, and Wang Weixing lost an arm, while Cheng Mobai got a black handprint in the chest, vomiting blood.
Mo Fei looked at this scene, only felt that his eyes were about to explode. Mo Yi’s condition was’t good.
Wang Weixing and Cheng Mobai should have gotten badly injured for protecting the kids.
Mo Fei felt cold in the heart. Those who claimed to be decent cultivators could use such dirty means! They even laid their hands on some kids!
Seeing the arrival of Mo Fei and others, the little golden flood dragon struggled violently.
The chains that chained him was engraved with complicated patterns. When he struggled, the patterns on it immediately emitted bursts of red light, and the chains would chain him tighter.
Mo Fei noticed that on the little flood dragon’s body already showed some wounds, apparently those chains was doing great harm to him.
He raised his hand and tried to hit at the chains.
Cang Qian pulled him and said, “This is the immortal-trapping lock. The harder you hit it, the tighter it grows. So it’s no use to attack it, but to attack the one who controls it.”
Cang Qian had some cold feeling in the heart. The immortal-trapping lock had strong suppressing force against those who owned the immortal bloodline. It should be that people of Gongsun family worked it out against those who had already had the immortal bloodline. It had cost Gongsun family really a lot to develop it.

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
