He immediately sighed in relief and hastily dressed himself before hurrying to the hospital.

On the way, he couldn't help but to swear. 'Whoever did this to you will not go unpunished, Brina. They will pay thousand folds more than this for hurting the future Queen, the only Queen of the future King!'.

There was something that changed in him. It might be that he got flipped from being a 'cool and easy going' to 'formidable and devilish' Prince.

When Louis arrived at Brina's room, he couldn't do anything much but harden his heart from getting emotional.

Who knows who else will be watching them now?

It's better not to show how sensitive he is now when it comes to Brina. Otherwise, there are chances some of these despicable monsters might use her against him.

Sighing in exhaustion, Louis entered the room and noticed that Brina was sitting on her bed with her back leaning onto the headboard. She is drinking some soup, quietly.

"Lady Brina, hope you are feeling well now." Louis asked, bringing her back from her reveries.

As the doctor is still present, monitoring her reports, even Brina controlled her urges to jump on her boyfriend and hug him tight.

She missed him a lot..!!

Hardening her emotions, Brina sat back, attentive, before flashing a faint smile.

"Thanks for asking, Prince Edward. I am good." she politely answered.

Louis just nodded his head and shifted his attention to the doctors. "Is His Highness already informed about this?" he questioned.

Surprisingly, his father is adamant on meeting Brina. He might have already sensed that something is fishy about her accident.

"Yes, Prince Edward. We have informed Your Highness and he will be coming here anytime today." the chief doctor informed politely, before pretending to get busy in her work.

However, she is actually worried why the King himself wanted to meet Brina in private.

Did he.. did he actually get the wind of suspicions in Brina's accidents?

She was scared! However, Olivia assured her that she will take care of all the evidence and even if someone wants to investigate the matter, they wouldn't be finding any hint that might point to them.

Louis took a last glance at his girlfriend 'I will meet you back in the evening, love.' he thought.

He wanted to stay. He wanted to take care of her like a mother when he did. However, this is the bitter reality that he still can't accept.

He should act as if she is nothing important to him when, ironically, she is his life..

But this is for her good. For her safety.

"Son, why did you get emotional when you saw Lady Brina falling down? What's going on?" his father, King Edgar asked. "What is your relationship with Lady Brina?"

Louis came back after visiting Brina and he was called by his father to meet him.

So, they are now sitting in the study room, having father and son talk, not a King and Crowned Prince talk.

"Nothing as you think, dad. That accident made me remember my mother." Louis said.

"I don't know if you still remember dad, but mom once fell down just like this, when she was teaching me and Ethan." Louis told his father.

Of course, he doesn't remember it but he could vaguely recall it. He even took care of her during that couple of days.

His wife was so happy back then that she got to spend her time with her beloved husband.

His poor wife never said a word, though he was very busy to spend some quality time with her and their son.

She had single handedly raised their son and that might be the reason why she got habituated to doing everything all alone by herself and if not because of that, his wife would have still been alive! Who knows?!

Now, he couldn't help but miss his deceased wife, regret for not reciprocating her love for him, though he had it in his heart.

He couldn't help but sigh in unfathomable sadness that has engulfed his heavy heart.

"I'm really sorry for not protecting her well, Edward. I shouldn't have let her do it.. I let your mother down." King Edgar said, regret filled in his eyes.

If only he would have been there for her to share her burdens and worries, she might not have gone through the phase where she alone had to take the decisions and implement them for the country's well being.

"I'm sorry that I couldn't be a good husband for her, or, a good father for you and Ethan." he added, covering his face with both of his palms.

No matter how strong these men in the Royal Family are, their wives have been and they will remain as their only weakness.

Sometimes he even felt that he was the reason for his wife's death.

If the enemies wouldn't have found out that his wife is his weaknesses, they might not have used her against him. They wouldn't have targeted her and forced her to death.

And, that is the exact reason why he let his elder son, former Crowned Prince, Ethan go.

He has someone he loves with all of his heart and that woman is his only weakness now.

If he had become a King, who knows? The history might repeat itself!! And Ethan's wife, who is very delicate and sensitive, from what his research said, she might become a bait in this dirty politics!

Just like how his strong and highly willed wife

As a father he doesn't want his sons to go through with the same pain.

He now understood why the bride selection was always taken seriously. These marriages are mostly based on agreement more than love.

It helps in stability of King's decision in making skills, because he would not have the 'weakness' which is his love, 'wife'.

And, he hopes Louis doesn't have someone who might become his weaknesses.

If he has someone like this, as a father, he must help his son to protect her.

To help him make her more strong. Help him in making her feel she is not alone and she has people of herself with whom she can share the burdens.

But, as someone who knows the happiness of being in love, he would never force his son to let his life go.
