"Thanks for advice, bro. I will just do it" Louis said, his eyes still on Brina.

"However, she seems worried about something as well," he added.

"Her bodyguards are to brief out about what happened today, right?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah, I postponed it to tomorrow, thinking that I could use that time to have some quality time with my wife. As she is not in mood for that, I will just listen to their briefings" Louis said, pretty downcasted.

Ethan laughed. "Bro, I pity you," he said.

"Baby, I have an urgent meeting now. Don't wait for me okay? You are tired, so go back to sleep" Louis said as he kissed his wife's forehead.

Brina is already lying on the bed, wearing a modest night dress. This is the first time she wore decent PJ after the marriage.

She almost felt strange wearing it. It felt as if she was rolled in a sheet, suffocating.

Brina smiled, understanding that he is giving her some space.

But for how many days? Two days, at most three days.

Although Louis wouldn't say no if she asks for space but it is her who feels guilty. It would make him think more and might even give him some misleading thoughts.

"Honey" Brina called.

Louis, who is already on his way outside, halted.

"Hmm?"

"Come here once," Brina asked, extending her hands towards him as she sat down on bed, leaning to headboard.

Louis smiled and went to her.

As soon as he reached, Brina hugged him, burying her face in his chest.

She is missing this!

"What is it, love?" Louis asked, hugging her back and planting a kiss on her hair. His hands caressed her back soothingly.

"I want to talk to you about something important," Brina said, tightening her grip.

She is nervous.

"Sleep first. You look so tired and weak. Let's talk about it tomorrow, peacefully" he said, kissing her forehead.

Brina lifted her head, and kissed him on his lips.

Louis didn't dare to deepen it, worried that he had to take a cold shower again.

He parted after a brief kiss and made her lie down on the bed. "Good night, love. Sleep tight" he said.

After that, Louis walked away, leaving only her and the little bun inside.

'We will be telling dad about you, tomorrow. Excited?' Brina asked, smiling at herself for the silly question.

She caressed her tummy and chuckled. 'But I am scared now dada would react' she sighed and closed her eyes.

"In the hospital, Prince Griffin from Kingdom Wentris met Lady Brina and Lady Natalie," Brina's personal bodyguard said.

"Griffin?" Louis asked, as a frown marred his face.

"What happened? Did they talk?" Louis asked.

"Yes, your highness. Lady Natalie knows Prince Griffin and his wife Seline. They had a brief chat before they parted their ways" personal guard answered.

"And?" Louis asked.

"Your highness, this is the only unusual incident that happened today. Except that, Lady Natalie postponed her another appointment" he answered.

"Hmm. You can go now" Louis said.

"So, Brina met her cousin brother and it is what made her worry?" Louis spoke to himself after he was left alone in his study room.

'She might have been worried that he recognized her. Or else, it could be that she is worried because Natalie and Griffin know each other' he thought.

'Brina, why do you overthink every time? It's not good for your health' Louis thought when he saw his wife sleeping. However, her creased forehead showed that she is not having peaceful sleep.

Meanwhile, when he is away.. ..

Brina suddenly opened her eyes when a thought struck her mind.

Could there be something that neutralises the power of the shot she took? Like an antidote given first drugs.

Brina immediately opened her laptop and started searching for it.

"So, legally no pharmaceuticals are given permission to manufacture it, but something like that really exists" Brina spoke to herself when she read through the information.

"But, illegally someone can bribe them and create a one"

"Who would have wanted me pregnant so badly? And, how could they have drugged my food?" she thought.

As for what is given here, that antidote has to be taken everyday. Could it be the tonic her mother in law gave her?

However, the tonic is the only thing she took almost everyday without fail. so, it could be the only way. As of food, it can't be possible because they cook by themselves.

"And Natalie said that tonic has to be bitter. But mine tasted different" Brina spoke to herself.

She suddenly remembered that she took another bottle from Queen Elora today.

'Let's taste both of them and see the difference' Brina thought but decided against it.

What if this tonic was drugged too...

However, what bothered her more is, did Queen Elora do this or someone tricked her into it?

Brina fished out her mobile and texted Natalie,

[Nat, before you go back to hospital tomorrow, come and visit me once]

Later, she chucked her mobile on the pillow and lied down.

Brina actually decided to send both of the tonics for testing. She has to know who did this and why they did it, if it is really intentional.

Next morning…

Brina woke up earlier than Louis.

Louis is obediently sleeping on his side. He even placed a barrier of pillows between them, worried that he would lose control.

Brina chuckled when she saw him holding on to his blanket tightly. He looked so cute playing all these antics...

Brina kissed him on his forehead and Louis immediately smiled in his sleep. She chuckled again and decided to cook for him but remembered that she had to take bed rest, she pretended to sleep.

By the time Louis woke up, Brina was still asleep. So, deciding not to disturb her, Louis cooked breakfast, got ready and went to his meeting.

He didn't forget to write a note to her and stick it to the bedside table.

Brina woke up when her stomach growled. It is already eleven in the morning.

"I slept for twelve hours continuously" Brina spoke to herself and then she remembered what all had happened yesterday. 'Ahh.. this isn't a dream ,' she thought.

Caressing her tummy, she thought, 'Good morning baby. Let's investigating who tried to trick your mom'

Saying so, she slowly woke up and freshened up. All her movements are so cautious and gentle like air.

After having her brunch, she is resting on the couch, thinking of all the possibilities of how this would have happened.

In meanwhile, afternoon, Natalie came.

"Louis on an urgent matter. He wouldn't be coming to have lunch with you, so mom invited you to have lunch with her" Natalie informed.

"Thanks, Nat." Brina said.

"I got your text and I am going to country S now" Natalie said.

"Oh"

"I wanted you to pass these tonics to Rhianna. She said she would test them" Brina said.

"I suspect that I got tricked into getting pregnant by someone desperate. And, the only source of adding that antidote into my daily system is this, the tonics" she added.

"Ah! Whoever did this, they must be from the Royal family. I wonder who it could be" Natalie said. "But do you think it's mom?" she asked in shock.

Elora wouldn't do that.

She is good.

"I am not sure yet, Nat. My main suspect is Greta" Brina said.

"That old geese?" Natalie asked. "But she wants you out from here. Why would she do this? I mean, this baby stabilises your position here" she said.

Brina chuckled.

"I told you that Greta got blackmailed right?" she asked.

"Uh.. hmm" Natalie answered. "Ethan said, she did some horrifying things"

"You wanna know what they are?" Brina asked.

"Yeah"

"Greta is actually a second wife of the old King. He married her because his first wife couldn't produce an heir and when tested, she was proved incapable of giving birth" Brina said.

"So, King married Greta and shortly after that, but his first wife died. She did sucide"

"I heard the story," Natalie said.

"But what Ethan found out is that this isn't the real story. The real story is dark and vicious" Brina said. Ethan and Brina worked together to investigate the real truth.

However, Ethan didn't tell Brina the real story yet. He said, it's better not to be told because the story was too inhumane. As it was already in the past, there is nothing much to discuss about it.

Their main motive was to know why Greta is getting blackmailed. So, he didn't want that story to sidetrack their main objective m.

"When I asked him, Ethan said it would worry me a lot and that it is better not to be known." Natalie pouted.

"I suggested to him not to tell you, Nat. If the story was that troublesome and disturbing, it would greatly effort your minds. At that time, you are still in meds, so I didn't think you were ready to face the harshness these Royal families hold." Brina answered.

"So, are you going to meet Ethan and ask him now?" Natalie asked.

"Yep" Brina answered.
