If he was in Nickolas's position, he would have adored her, placed her in his heart and took care of her like a princess, which she really is!!

So, not able to tolerate those raging emotions, James directly confronted Nickolas why he had betrayed Brina and how exactly he could stomach it.

Nickolas knew James loved Brina with all his heart, and in fact she is still his first love.

If it weren't because of critical circumstances in James' Royal family, he would have concentrated in wooing Sabrina and getting her to love him.

Nickolas still believes that if it wasn't because of that, Sabrina really would have accepted James.

Anyway, back to the point, Nickolas knows that James was genuinely concerned about Sabrina.

As he also wanted some powerful allies to take revenge, he told James about everything and asked, ahem...begged, for help.

At first, James didn't believe Nickolas.

However, after several trials of persuasion and after a lot of genuine efforts Nickolas showed James agreed to listen to him.

So, after witnessing many incidents and noticing some solid proofs Nickolas showed him, James got convinced and at last agreed to help.

Even after that, he never let down his guards. He was alert, not believing Nickolas wholeheartedly.

Even Nickolas knew it but he is also aware that what he has done in the past are the reasons for these heart aching, lonesome consequences.

"We have to go to meet someone very special," Nick answered James' question.

However, he didn't tell James about Brina. Nor did he tell Camilla or Griffin.

He wanted them to have the same impact as it had on him when he found out Brina is alive.

"Nick, you have been too mysterious for a few days. I swear to God that I won't let you live if you are actually betraying our cause. We are in the final phase of getting what we want, so if-" he stopped when the other call was added to the conference.

It is Layla.

James met her a few times.

Probably twice or thrice.

But he knows about her past, so he knows that she would never help Nickolas in betraying the main cause.

"He isn't planning against your cause, King James. We are inviting you to come for a discussion about our future plans to proceed with" she said.

"We have always met in my Kingdom or in country S, Ms. Fletcher. Why should we change it to your base in the States? Are you trying to kill me and join hands with Nickolas and his sadistic father in law, Gabriel?" James asked.

Well, after what happened to Sabrina and her family, he stopped believing anyone blindly.

So, he became a pretty straight forward person and he never cared about what others would think or feel about him.

All he cares about is making sure he won't risk his life or his beloved people's precious lives, including his countrymen.

And, before Layla who was dumbfounded, could answer, Remus was added to call as well.

He actually didn't want to join, but he didn't have any choice to say no.

It is Louis who is controlling the call and organizing it. And, he is fucking serious to get this meeting go smooth and safe.

He would never take any chances when it comes to his wife's safety or his unborn baby's life.

Unlike Brina who trusts her friends so much, he doesn't.

Although he trusts in Layla, he doesn't trust in Nickolas and James.

He used to not trust Remus too but after finding out about his loss, Louis got convinced that Remus is no threat in any way.

Meanwhile….

"Remus" James almost shouted in shock when he saw Remus on the screen.

He is shocked by how he found out about him and Nickolas working together.

More than that he is shocked because he is added to the call which is supposed to be highly confidential.

And, it only points out that Nickolas and Remus are in talking conditions now!

Which was not expected!

Nickolas let his sister Niccy die.

And, Niccy is Remus's life. He would never forgive Nickolas on this aspect. Never!!

"Hi James," Remus greeted. But he didn't greet Nickolas.

As usual, he ignored that man's existence. If not for his pregnant friend, who seriously has to cut off the pressure, he wouldn't have agreed to work with this bastard.

He is only doing this because this has to end soon, so that Brina and her baby would be safe in their weakest point.

Meanwhile, even Nickolas couldn't muster up his courage to speak to Remus.

He is not prepared to face this kind of situation.

In the first place, he never expected that something like this would happen.

He actually planned to leave the kingdoms after his revenge. He decided to go far away to some small town like this one and live his rest of life, reflecting himself.

So, he never thought he had to meet Remus again, who was his dead sister's boyfriend.

"So, you guys are working together now" James asked, breaking the awkward silence.

"Not exactly. It's kind of complicated to explain to you , so..ummm...anyway, I got my Kingdom back and we will be having all the four kingdoms working together to stop this Rebellion" Remus said.

"Four? Yours, mine, your fianćee's and Nick's?" Jamew asked, a little bit of mockery.

"Nick doesn't have Kingdom, James. He is just a lapdog, not a leader, let alone a King. I am talking about Kingdom Aletros" Remus said.

Meanwhile, Nick flinched a bit and Layla could only roll her eyes.

But she kind of enjoyed it.

Remus words are so sarcastically funny and oddly satisfying.

Louis, who was listening to this, is also enjoying it. He really felt like laughing and throwing his own punchline.

However, Brina is fast asleep, deadly tired after she threw up multiple times, all the breakfast she ate.

If not because his wife is sleeping in his arms he would have really laughed out loud, rolling on his stomach.

Remus is savage.
