"My training is done for today. I would be going back guys" Diego said as he sat down to gulp water down.

He was cautious not to implicate his 'ordinary' girlfriend into all this mess. Everything is so messy and there are many things happening here which he doesn't know.

It is too dangerous to call his girlfriend or chat with her. But, he was missing her very much as well.

After his first uncle, aunt (Brina's parents) and his favorite cousins died, he no longer felt this palace as his home.

When they were there, it used to be so joyous and exciting. However, as soon as they died, everything started falling down.

His big brother, Prince Griffin insisted that he doesn't want to become the successor. He married his girlfriend and she is his center of the world now.

He drastically changed.

Although he loved his siblings and cared for him like always, something was amiss. He started being distant to their father and his wife is his world now.

Meanwhile, his sister got engaged to that Bastard Nickolas and he still doesn't understand why she agreed to that.

His other relatives from noble families and branch families fear his father, so they rarely come to the palace.

The palace became deserted, if not for the guards, bodyguards and maids who are the only people other than them.

Diego felt alone.

His mother is dead. His father is not as good as he thought. For him nothing matters more than his family and power.

So, Diego is afraid of what his father might do when he confesses his love to a 'normal' girl from the enemy's Kingdom.

He wished his father would get defeated and become powerless.

But, he dont want to become the crown prince as well. He hoped his brother Griffin would agree to take over the crown.

All he wants now is to finish his studies and go abroad. With the money he has, he could easily start his own company from scratch and after it stabilises, he wants to marry his girlfriend and live happily with no tensions.

'I expected this. She has every right to get mad on me. Today is our anniversary and I should be celebrating this with her. I should be surprising her, taking her for a date. But here I am, not even texting her' he thought.

'Baby, I am busy. I might not be able to meet you' he texted her back. He actually wanted to not respond but she should have hacked his phone. That message is not at all going away.

'Fine, if you are that busy, you better forget about me as well. You are so busy that you couldn't even text me or call me. What if after some years, you forget that you had a fiancée or wife or girlfriend, whatever I am to you then?'

'I will be heartbroken and I might not come out of it. It's better to cut our ties here and prevent that pain.
