Chapter 4: Egg Shop
Rumors said, there was a food shop in the corner of the campus. It had quite the unique display up front: containing various eggs with the size of a human head. When you entered this establishment, you'd realize how spacious it was. The interior was much wider than what's seen outside. After you entered, you'd be given an egg from the receptionist; an attendant would bring you into one of the rows and rows of rooms, within the neverending set of corridors.
Entering your destined door, you'd find yourself into the world you yearned for, with neatly arranged furniture. It's like a surreally designed dining hall or whatever you name it. Each differing person had their own outcome. While you held the egg, the attendant explained: this egg would crack open when you placed it at the heater, atop the centermost dining table.
Aside from it, the rooms were divided into many places. Each of it could be enjoyed to your hearts' content without costing any money. It still had its own price, however. The provided meals did not consist only of eggs; you could also stay in here as long as you'd like; the world could be reformed in-accordance to your thoughts.
The guide continued speaking: within this egg was the head of a person you hated the most in this world—in which you could torture and slaughter as morbidly possible. The more gruesome it'd turn out, the more delicious it'd end up when you ate them. It was unfortunate, however, you'd be ejected from this place and you wouldn't be able to find it again within your lifetime, no matter how hard you sought it.
You might think: what if I didn't have anyone I hate that much? What if you saw their face and didn't feel like doing sadistic things? If the world was reformed in accordance with my thoughts, wouldn't something nightmarish happen if I unconsciously thought so? Rest assured, no matter how much grim and darkness that resides, what did not kill you would just make you stronger.

For now, just have fun as much as you want. No need to rush and heat up the eggs.
As long you're a human, you would always have something or someone you hate, no matter how little it was. It was the same hate which gave birth to its exquisite flavors.
Even if you could have fun in this place forever, you might wonder—what other means was to go out? You just have to will it in earnest heart and the exit would open. Though once you're out, you could not re-enter. So it was recommended to enjoy yourself, do your final 'judgment' to the egg and feast upon it when you're finally done, as the outcomes would be the same anyway.
As time would not flow when you're inside, there's no need to rush.
You were left alone in the room; experiencing the days with infinite possibilities. Would it be of fortuitous encounter and happiness, or would it be of tragic loss and despair?
To each of their own.
By the way...
Is this loss?

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.
