《Magus Of Darkness》Chapter 10: The market

The next day when Adrius woke up he had a destination in his mind. The market, he wanted to sell his potion and buy some spells and equipment if he could.
Adrius walked out from his room and was met with his annoying neighbor Emilia, she waved at him and he acknowledged it with a nod. He then walked all the way to the main ground of the school, it was very big and there were buildings everywhere, surprisingly there were trees here underground. He was hungry so he headed to the restaurant and ate something, then he asked for directions from the waiter for the market. After following the directions and getting there, it was a long street and on both sides of the street there were shops and people were buying and selling their stuff.
Adrius entered the street and saw a lot of things, he saw a corpse of a spider that was the size of a big dog, and he also saw a lot of materials like the venom of a crystal eyes snake, the shell of a shelled rabbit and a lot more. He was broke so he just watched them and didn’t even think of buying them.
He continued in his way until he found a shop that had a lot of potions, it’s owner was a fat man in his teenage years. When he saw Adrius coming he stood up and welcomed him into his shop.
“ Welcome dear customer, how can I help you?” Asked the fat owner
“ I’m here to sell this potion” Answered Adrius in his cold/calm manner
He then took out a potion and handed it to the owner, the owner took the potion and looked at it carefully to see if there is anything wrong with it.
“ The quality is a little bit bad but it can be sold for 1 magical stone, but first I have a question? Did you make this potion? And if you did, are you related to professor Croft by any chance?” Asked the owner
“ Yes I did make this potion, and yes professor Croft is my mentor” Answered Adrius, he understood what the owner meant by the question, if he was Croft’s apprentice then he will make a lot of potions and he can sell it to him and he can sell it to the students and that will result in a lot of money.

“ It is an honor to meet you. My name is Phillips, but you can call me Phil. I can buy this potion from you with 2 magical stones” Said Phil with an excited tone. He wanted to lure Adrius no matter what, he even paid more than the actual worth of the potion. Who was professor Croft? He is one of the best potion masters in this academy and the last student he took was ten years ago, and now that student is famous and working for a magus family as their potion master. And now spread a rumor that says professor Croft took another student, so if he can make a good relationship with Adrius he will earn a lot of magical stones.
“ Thanks for that, my name is Adrius, can I ask for a favour, don’t spread my identity” Said Adrius
“ Of course, your secret is safe with me” Said Phil
After the deal with Phil, Adrius took his magical stones and went to an equipment shop and bought everything he needed to make potions, it cost him one magical stone. Of course the quality of the equipment wasn’t that good so it cost less. Carrying his equipment on his back he went to a material shop and bought some materials for a potion, it cost him another magical stone and he was broke again.
He returned to his room and put down his new equipment in his working space and then he took out a paper with a recipe on it. He read through the recipe thrice and put it down, it was a low grade healing potion, it selled very well in the market because of the academy’s missions. He got the potions yesterday from Croft's book, Adrius looked everywhere in the market for a book that has the same name or better and couldn’t find it, so he made a conclusion that only potion masters have such books. And it made sense like why would anyone post his craft so everybody can learn it. Then the potion master won’t be this valuable to the families or academies.

Adrius started preparing the materias, it was mostly plants with healing effects like moon flower and a lot more.
He started the fire and started to put the ingredients one by one by one hand and controlling the heat with the other, he had a lot of experience with this because of his job in his previous life. But he couldn’t show it yesterday because that will make him suspicious in front of Croft. Of course the magic step that he failed wasn’t acting because he really didn’t know how to use magic but he has a better understanding of it now. He can’t control it freely but can control it to some point.
When he was done with all the ingredients he looked at the time and saw that it took him 2 hours to do it, that happened because you can’t just put everything at once but there are steps.
When he saw the mix start to boil he sighed a sigh of relief it was a success, he was afraid that it would fail, because he had only bought ingredients for one try.
“ Now as the recipe says, I should boil for 2 hours and then it will be ready to be used. I should use this time to cultivate ” Said Adrius to himself
He then sat down on his bed and started to cultivate, he could feel the magic power in the air around him and he started to draw it into his body, and started to concentrate it on the area above his belly button. This was the way to advance to rank 2 magus apprentice, you would have to build a dantian so you can store all the magic in it and with it you will advance in cultivation. Because the body can’t keep all the magic that the person gathers and if someone would do that then their body would explode like a balloon. The dantian is a made up organ that every magus has, and the way to activate it you would have to concentrate the magic energy that you are drawing in the area above your belly button and when it does have enough magic energy then the dantian will be created.
After 2 hours
Adrius put down his Xyron language book, he has cultivated for 1 hour and learned Xyron for 1 hour. Knowledge is a very important aspect of magus cultivation.
He then walked to the working place and looked at the potion that was complete, he then poured it into a tube and sealed it. The potion had green color and had a healing aura around the tube.
He then took the potion to his mentor to grade it, when he was at the door he did not need to knock because he learned the password. He said something in Xyron and the door opened.
He saw his professor reading a book, when he noticed Adrius come in he put down his book and looked up
“Adrius you’re late today, why is that?” Asked Croft
“ Sorry professor but I went to the market and bought equipment and material for a potion and I was making it, I have just finished it” answered Adrius with a respectful tone.
“ Hmm a new potion? Show me” Demand Croft
Adrius took out his potion and gave it to Croft
“ A healing potion? Good job it is actually better quality than expected, of course it is still a low grade potion but good job” Said Croft
“ How much can I sell this for?” Asked Adrius
“ Hmm, with this quality 2 magical stones I guess”
Adrius was happy because he had a plan in his mind on how to get rich.
