《Magus Of Darkness》Chapter 27: Origin of the mask

The moment Adrius put on the mask on his face everything turned black. He felt his soul leaving his body and traveling to another place.
After some time Adrius had his senses come back to him and he opened his eyes, he was shocked at first because that was not his room! But it was a big city, the city was burning and there were screams and dead bodies everywhere.
Adrius was confused; he tried to touch something so he could prove if this is real or not, but he noticed something while stretching his hands. His skin was awfully pale like a dead person. He then started to touch his face and something shocked him! He had horns on top of his head!
‘ What is happening? Where am I? Wait wait I need to calm myself and think. So I wore the mask and suddenly I looked like a horned demon, how is that possible? The horned demon worlds were destroyed by the magus world 2000 years ago!’
Before Adrius could think more a voice came behind him: “ Look Cthar this was the outcome of your pride, you wouldn’t surrender to me and I told you if you don’t I will destroy everything you own. And how do you respond to me giving you a chance of survival? You kill my heir! Now I will show you what happens when you fuck with a magus!”
Adrius was confused, Cthar? This was the name of the king; the mask was made of his skull. Is he watching Cthar’s memories? Before Adrius can do anything his body started talking without him even thinking about it: “ Pride? What is pride compared to my people? Lafaz you think I didn’t want to surrender because of pride, but I really didn’t want my people to be slaves in your world. So you can do experiments on us like we are not a damn living being!” Screamed Cthar the last words with anger. Cthar’s body then turned facing the magus Lafaz behind him, the magus looked young, he had black hair with brown eyes. The effects of his black hair and brown eyes looked very good combined with his pale skin. He was wearing a magus robe, but his magus robe had something special about it. It had a golden raven on it. The same golden raven Adrius had on his uniform.

‘ So this Lafaz is from the raven academy, wait! Something is wrong, in my estimation this happened 2000 years ago in the demon extinction war. But the academy was grounded 1200 years ago, could it be that he is the patriarch? But why did they write just “some headmaster” in the description of the mask? Maybe they didn’t know that it came from the patriarch personally. If this is true then this artifact is very very good, because according to the records the patriarch was a rank 3 magus. So this makes the mask more valuable because a rank 3 magus made it.’
Lafaz then looked at Cthar up and down and said: “ It wasn't pride then, good for you. But this won’t change the outcome. I will destroy everything you own, and if I’m not wrong you are the king of a kingdom, and a king owns a kingdom doesn’t he?” Laughed Lafaz after the threat
Cthar’s face went pale and screamed: “ Lafaz leave my people alone, they didn’t do anything wrong! You can kill, enslave or even do experiments on me but don’t touch my people.”
Lafaz showed a mocking face and said: “ Oh I’m touched, but I think you forgot something about this war Cthar. We started this war to eliminate every demon in the universe so even if I don’t kill your people then other magus will.”
Cthar couldn’t control the anger anymore and started shouting: “ What did we do to get exterminated, we lived in harmony for billions of years!”
Lafaz thought about how he would answer and then answered: “ Well, let’s just say we don’t want anyone that can backstab us again when the war comes”
While this conversation was happening Adrius was memorizing every word that comes out of their mouths.
Lafaz then clapped and Cthar was tied in place he couldn’t move, Adrius lost the right to move the body when the conversation started and he was just watching everything like a movie.
“ What are you going to do?!” Screamed Cthar

Lafaz laughed and said: “ You will see my friend, you will see.” He then clicked his fingers and Cthar’s body started to float, Lafaz was also flying.
They then float to a big field where there was only green grass. But in this green grass there were over ten thousand people standing.
They all looked to have pale skin like dead people and looked very handsome. But the only thing that made them special was that they didn’t have horns on their head like Cthar. They were all demons, precisely they were every citizen in Cthar’s little kingdom.
Lafaz landed and then Cthar’s body followed, Cthar was very pale and looked like he would die of fright, he even started begging: “ Lafaz please let them live, they didn’t do anything. You can take my life”
Hearing that the crowd was in shock their beloved king was sacrificing himself so they could live. Some of them started crying and screamed: “ We will die with you your majesty!”
“ Okay okay, shut up” Said Lafaz while waving his right hand, suddenly all the screams were cut off. “ Now I think we should start my surprise to you” Said Lafaz with an evil intent.
He then started to speak in Xyron while lifting his hands toward the sky. After he finished his spell a black cloud formed in the sky, the cloud started raining. The crowd wanted to run and escape but no one was able to move. It was like an invincible chain was tieing them in place. When the first drop landed on someone’s face he started screaming because his face was melting. It was not water but it was acid rain.
More screams emerged from the crowd, but Cthar’s attention was on a little boy and a woman in front. They both had horns on their heads and the boy looked very similar to Cthar. Adrius came to the conclusion that this was Cthar’s son and wife, the prince and the queen.
The acid rain started to drop on them and they started screaming because their skin and tissue was melting off. Cthar was screaming and crying watching his son and wife get murdered like that. After sometime all the screams stopped and the rain stopped. Lafaz looked at Cthar and said: “ Now this is the best part” He then started to draw white spheres that were all around the field. When he had all the spheres gathered in one hand, he looked at Cthar and said: “ Now to the last step” He then moved his hand casually and Cthar’s body dropped on the grass headless.
The head was floating in front of Lafaz, the flesh started to disappear and only the skull remained, he then cut part of the skull so someone could wear it. After he was done he put Cthar’s soul into the other souls and started to put the souls in the skull while saying something in Xyron. Adrius was watching everything like a soul from above, he didn’t have eyes but if he had they would be glowing. It is not every day you can watch a rank 3 magus work. After hours the mask was finally finished, the skull turned black and looked very terrifying. The moment the mask was finished Adrius felt his soul travel back.
He then woke up in his body again, ‘So this is the spell power of a rank 3 magus.’ He was shocked by the power Lafaz showed, but also a question came into his mind “ Why didn’t anyone write about the story if it is recorded in the mask?” Then an idea came into his mind: what if he was the only one that saw the story, why? After thinking, he got it,his soul from another world and not born in the magus world like Cthar!
