《Magus Of Darkness》Chapter 39: New slaves

Conflicts were something normal throughout the magus world, so Adrius wasn’t surprised to find a bunch of knights whom the house they served was defeated and they were captured. That was one of the most common ways to capture slaves, and usually the victor sold the people they captured for extra income.
Adrius didn’t have a lot of questions but one question tugged on him: “ How much do they cost?”
The old man thought about it for a sec and then decided to answer honestly: “ Well my lord, the average knight would cost 2 magical stones. But there is actually someone who is at the verge of breaking into a great knight among these 5. And for him the price is 5 magical stones”
Adrius knew why the prices were so high, he was buying a force that is equalish to a magus apprentice. So it was okay in his opinion. He of course knew which one was the person on the verge of a breakthrough, he sensed him the moment they came in.
Adrius used magic to look at the man more carefully, the man was very muscular, there were muscles in every spot on his body. He had dark skin, his skin was covered in scars. Adrius thought it was from the battles he went through. He had yellow eyes which had a glow of killing intent, the focus of the intent wasn’t on someone but it showed he was ready to fight at any moment. He also had a clean shaven head, the man was actually a good looking man but the thing that made him frightening was a scar that ran through the left side of his face.
Adrius looked for some time and checked that the man was perfectly healthy, he then looked at the others. They were all average but one caught Adrius’ attention. She was standing with her head held high, but when Adrius looked at her she lowered her gaze and shivered. The magus had a bad reputation especially because of the dark magus who treated the mortals like grass.

Adrius saw something in her that made him interested, not sexually but still interested. She had black hair that was tied in a ponytail, white milky skin and a cute face that looked like she had not been in a battle. But the look in her eyes disagreed with her cute face. Her eyes had the look of someone who has been in countless fights.
Adrius saw that she was the strongest under the knight who was about to break through. And from what Adrius could tell she was a lot younger than that man.
That means she had a very good talent. Adrius examined her for a while and then nodded internally. She was perfectly healthy and didn’t have anything wrong with her.
Adrius then looked at the old man: “ I have made my decision, I will take these two” Said Adrius while pointing at the two people he was interested in.
The old man was glad that he made a magus happy with his products: “ That will be 7 magical stones my lord”
Adrius waved and 7 magical stones floated to the old man, he was still not at the stage where he can make things float by magic alone so he uses shadow hands to make it up for it. With 7 magical stones less Adrius had 23 magical stones left. He should really spend less until he comes back to the academy and takes more jobs. He unfortunately couldn’t search Oliver’s body, the moment he ended his conversation with Croft Oliver’s headless body started to burn and everything turned into ash.
Adrius thought it was a thing The Pegasus academy did to their students so the killer won’t have their bodies to play with, which will bring bad reputation to the academy. And an idea came into Adrius’ mind, what if The Raven academy had the same thing, what would it be? Then a realization struck him, the raven tattoo! It was mandatory to every student to have it, and maybe it had a spell that could burn the students body and soul into ashes after death. But Adrius was lucky by getting Oliver’s soul fast or it would’ve been destroyed. Thanks to Lafaz he got it first.

After the old man took the magical stones he wondered: “ My lord, would you like to equip them with armor and weapons?”
Adrius shrugged: “ Why not? You two, what is your weapon of choice?”
The man answered obediently with his deep voice: “ Master I prefer a great sword”
Adrius looked at the man, in his mind he nodded. The man was 2 meters tall with muscles all over his body. It made sense why he would use a greatsword.
Adrius then looked at the women waiting for her to speak.
The women answer in the same tone as the man: “ Master I’m trained to use a Rapier”
Adrius also nodded inside his head, a Rapier was the perfect weapon for this woman. She was around 165 cm so she has a lot of speed. More than the man so it made sense why she would use a fast weapon like the Rapier.
Adrius looked at the old man: “ You heard them, I want you also to fully cloth them in good armor.”
The old man bowed and nodded: “ Yes my lord” He then walked out of the room with all of the slaves.
After an hour of waiting the old man returned with Adrius’ slaves, they looked like real knights. Both of them wore black metal armor with a red cape. Both of them wore a black helmet with a mask and it only showed their eyes. The mask was of a human, but without any facial features except for the eyes. Adrius has requested for such a look. Adrius then looked at the old man:“ How much?”
The old man replied fast: “ 10000 gold coin my lord”
Adrius nodded and ten gold coins floated to the old man. They were not normal gold coins but they were gold coins that were worth 1 thousand each. It looked bigger than the normal gold coin and it also had a darker color than the normal gold coin. People invented these so you won’t have to carry a lot of coins when you go out. But usually only nobles have such coins. But what was Adrius? He was a magus, and in the magus world they traded with magical stones not gold and silver. So he didn’t use them very often. But he was not in need of gold, he had around a hundred thousand gold coins, of course when he got to the Lykos family he didn’t just kill but after the Oliver thing ended he went into the treasury and took everything he could. It was mostly useless to him in normal situations but he needed gold until he returned to the academy.
“Thank you my lord, how may I help you now?” Said the old man
“ You could leave me alone for a while,” Said Adrius.
The old man bowed again and walked out. Adrius then looked at the man: “ From now on you will be called Hadith” Then he looked at the girl: “ And you will be called Lilly, Understood?” Both of them said at the same time: “ Yes master” . They can only accept their fate, it was a magus that owned them not a normal human. So they can't escape.
Adrius then waved his hand and both of the slaves held their right hand in pain. After a moment a tattoo of a hissing black snake with red eyes appeared on their skin: “ This is my mark, if you disobey me then with a thought a poison so strong that it makes you wish for death will be released in you.”

How it stole the sun's light and slew the night’s roar. The Shamans will tell you the tales of their wisdom. Their wars on schism, and the unlettered world of ours before. Perhaps they will sing you the songs of what our clans' ancient customs tore. Poems of how our ancestors took what the discs had offered them, the manna and the mundane, and made it more. The kings will tell you of the follies, the sins, and the anecdotes of all our ancestors' wrongs. They will curse to you their names, the Ender of Fate and the Ruined Song. How they had dug up the hearts of the discs, euchred its relics, and blasphemed its prophecies, with oracles withdrawn. But they will only tell you the legends, recount the myths, and sing the allegories washed ashore. The Elders, the Shamans, and the kings can only retell what the storytellers of their own time had voiced. What they have read in books or heard in the minstrels' songs they adore. They don't know what really happened.
