Hadith and Lilly were shocked, not because of Adrius’ methods but because of his power. They have never seen a magus before and now a magus is in front of them and telling them that if they did anything he didn’t like then they are dead.

“Understood master” Said both of them

Adrius nodded: “ Good, now let’s go and meet the city lord”

Saying that Adrius rose from his seat and started to head to the door. Hadith and Lilly followed him, the old man seeing that sighed a sigh of relief. He will keep his life today.

The firebird city was still very much alive, people made way to Adrius and his reo slaves. They looked very scary so no one dared to stand in their way especially in Hadith’s way.

Then a scene that shocked everyone happened, a person bumped into Adrius and started to walk away.

“ Isn’t it rude to bump into me and not apologize? Also isn’t it rude to take my money?” Said Adrius, he was still wearing his cloak and only his mouth was visible. The person who bumped into Adrius was stopped by Hadith the moment Adrius stopped.

Hadith then searched him and found the money pouch Adrius wore on him.

“Hadith do your thing” Ordered Adrius

Hearing that Hadith held the man's head in two hands and started to squeeze. In a matter of seconds there was blood and skull pieces on the floor.

Hadith returned back to his place behind Adrius, he was not even affected by such things. He was the leader of the guards and he had done much worse things than that.

People were screaming and some even fainted after seeing what happened. The mess drew the city guards to the show.

“Who did that?” Screamed one of the guards seeing that headless body.

No one said anything but theirs looks headed to Adrius. The guard noticed and looked at Adrius, the moment he saw Adrius he froze in his place he knew who Adrius was. How couldn’t he know, the magus who came to the firebird city this was a big deal.

But he was a little confused, wasn’t there a guard with him? Where is he?

But he discarded the idea and then bowed to Adrius: “ My lord I apologize for this idiot’s behavior”

The crowd was in shock, the thought of who this hooded man was overwhelming their mind.

Adrius shrugged: “ it is okay, now take me to the city lord”

When the words left Adrius’ mouth some people's mouths opened and they couldn’t shut it. Is he talking about THE city lord? The city lord was someone that even some nobels couldn’t meet and this man talks about meeting him like it is nothing.

They didn’t even have the idea that Adrius is a magus because why would a magus walk on the same road as mortals?

“Of course my lord, please follow me” said the guard with a happy expression. It was not everyday he could help a magus.

Adrius followed the guard and Hadith and Lilly were still behind him. The guard that was with him, Adrius, sent him away. He didn’t want him finding out what he bought, it was enough that he knew that he bought slaves and good ones at that.

Walking for a half an hour they got to a big palace, a palace that was built with black stones and there was a picture of a bird that was covered with fire on the front door. They were two guards guarding the door: “ Stop right there identify yourself” said one of the guards

Adrius sensed that guard and he found that he was a knight.

The guard that came with Adrius said: “ we are here to meet the city lord, this is the magus that was supposed to meet him”

The guards bowed to Adrius: “ Sorry my lord we didn’t recognize you. Please enter the lord is waiting for you”

Adrius nodded and then looked at the guard that came with him: “ Your job here is done you may go”

The guard bowed to Adrius and left, Adrius then entered the palace.

He was accompanied by a guard and his two slaves.

They then got to a wooden door, and the guard knocked on it.

“ Who is it?” came a voice inside the room.

“ My lord the magus you have been waiting for is here” said the guard

Then the door opened and the muscular man came out of the door wearing something noble would wear. He was bald and had a big moustache. It had turned white at some places.

When he saw Adrius he bowed but not as the others it was only his head. But Adrius was okay with it because the man in front of him was a great knight.

“Please enter” Said the city lord

Adrius walked in with his slaves, he found a chair and sat on it: “ nice city you have their” complimented Adrius.

“ it would not be there without the raven academy and their help” answered the city lord

“ how rude of me I didn’t introduce myself I am Adrius Caseo”

“ Brandon Saloman”

“ Nice to meet you Brandon, now can we get to the business and the reason I’m here”

“ sure“

“ So the airship will arrive in two days and in these two days I need a place to stay and so is there a good place for me to stay? And I want it to be very secret because as you know the pegasus academy is after me”

“ yeah of course you can stay in my palace I will make sure nobody knows you’re here and for those that know you are here in the city I will tell them to shut your mouth and never speak about it again”

Brandon’s tone was very respectful because Adrius was a part of the Raven academy which is his boss and if he didn’t help Adrius then he will be executed for betraying the academy that’s why he was very helpful and very cooperative with Adrius.

“ I see you have bought new slaves they seem very powerful especially this big guy” Complemented Brandon

“Yes they are. Now can you please show me where will I sleep I’m tired and I need to get some rest” fake yawned Adrius

“ yeah sure I will I will make a maid guide you there”

Arriving in his room Adrius took off his cloak and sat down on the bed. Hadith and Lilly were outside the door.

‘ It is only a matter of time until I get back. I should make a plan of what I should do if Sophie has destroyed my reputation. I cannot kill her without signing my suicide so I have to be stroger than the Gaius family so I could take my revenge without complications. Or I can maybe deceive someone who is equal in strength and families strength to kill Sophie it would be harder but much more rewarding and I can stay in the shadow while doing it’ Thought Adrius

If this was the old reckless him then he wouldn’t even think of using somebody else to kill a person he wants to kill. He would’ve seen it as a sign of weakness but in reality it was a sign of power, using somebody else to do your bidding.

“ Oh this is going to be very fun” said Adrius with a grin on his face.
