It was still six hours until the airship arrived, Adrius was sitting in his room thinking and meditating at the same time.

He has told the city lord about the airship arriving soon and the city Lord has has expressed his disappointment that Adrius won’t stay longer in his mansion but Adrius knew that the Lord wasn’t trying to be nice, he was trying to make Adrius stay enough so he can fall in love with his daughter thus making him more powerful in the process.

But he didn’t know that Adrius has succeeded in seducing Veronica and now she’s a pawn in his play to take over the city and control it and gaining benefits in the process.

Adrius knew it was a risky plan because the Firebird city belongs to the raven academy so he can’t just take over the city but Ady remembered that the raven academy doesn’t care who runs the city. They only care that the city belongs to them and the territory belongs to them so he was not afraid that the raven academy will do anything to him. That's because he’s a student there and the raven academy doesn’t care about the city as long as it is loyal. Also Adrius wasn’t planning on revealing himself in public as the city’s new Lord; he will just stay in the dark and get the benefits of his play.

An idea then struck Adrius’ mind; he immediately called Lilly to come to his room.

After 30 seconds the door opened and a figure wearing black armor with a red cape and a mask over the face entered the room. She was around 165 cm and had a rapier in its scabbed around her waist.

Lilly got down on one knee and asked: “ how may I help you master?”

“ Lilly, I have a question. Has anyone ever seen your face in this palace?”

Lilly shook her head: “ no matter the only people who saw my face are you and Hadith”

“Good this makes the job easier, you see I want you to infiltrate the city. I want you to become a noble here. I will give you the money I have, gold of course and I will send you more when I get home. I want you to befriend Veronica and become her very best friend then I want you to report everything the family does to me. You can report using that mark I printed on your hand. I think you have figured that out already. Also I want you to buy slaves or thieves preferably young and I want you to train them to be assassins and killers. I want you to make an underground organization to take over the whole black market of the city. Can you do it? Or should I ask Hadith to do it?” Asked Adrius.

Lilly knew that if she says no then her value will drop immensely: “ I can do it master I will try my best to do what you ordered me too”

Adrius smiled: “ Good we have six hours now until the airship comes so in the six hours I will try to find you a house and buy it so you can make it to your base. While I am doing that, I want you to go to the streets and go to the slave market and look for slaves and thieves. But you gotta be sure that they won’t betray you. You have to Linjer the fear inside of them. Can you do it or should I send Hadith? He is much scarier than you”

“Don’t worry master I can be scary too”

“ OK then I will count on you now go out and find me some killers” Said Adrius with a grin

Lilly then got up and went out the door and closed it.

Adrius then sat alone again; he really needed alone time; he had to deal with Veronica after she heard that he was leaving. She came to him crying and asking why he was leaving so fast. He was really confused by the emotions, he only met her in the morning and she now acted like his girlfriend, love was really something annoying.

As for his plan he had enough resources to do it, the amount of gold he took from the Lykos family’s treasury was enough for him to build a small noble house. So it was not a big deal for him to support Lilly and make an organization.

Adrius then called for Hadith to come in.

Hadith came in and closed the door; he then kneeled on the floor and asked: “ How may I help you master?” The man’s voice was deep.

“ I want you to go and find a good mansion with a good price and buy it then I want you to give it to Lilly and then I want you to come back here so we can go back to the academy also Lilly won’t be joining us she will be staying here doing a job I gave her, understood?”

Hadith nodded: “ Crystal clear, master“

He then got out of the room and went looking for the mansion. The Firebird city was a very big city so it was not hard to find a mansion especially because there are families that collapse or rise in a matter of days or months so there are a lot of empty mansions to be sold.

In a blink of an eye six hours passed by Adrius was standing in a big field and there was a big airship in front of him the airship was very big and had a big black raven drawn on it symbolizes that it belongs to the Raven academy Hadith was standing behind Adrius and the city Lord also with his family were standing beside him.

“ I guess this is goodbye. It was a pleasure to meet you Lord Adrius. I hope your journey will be safe.” Said the city Lord.

“Thank you it was pleasure to meet y’all and thank you for your welcoming of me I have discovered that you are a very good family and a very good people“ saying the last part Adrius quickly glanced at Veronica and she dropped her head immediately when their eyes met, he was still playing the game. He was trying to make her fall more in love with him.

After saying goodbyes it was time for Adrius to get back home: “Hadith come on let’s go it’s time for us to get home”

“ Wait Lord Adrius, didn’t you have a female knight with you? What happened to her?” Asked Chris the youngest son

Adrius turned his hooded face back to Chris and laughed: “ oh she I can show you where she is” Adrius then extended his hand into his robe and took out a small ball in the ball there was a white light and screaming was coming out of it.

It was a soul! The whole lord's family was shocked by the scene. They have never seen a soul before and now this magus is showing them a soul while being tortured in front of them.

Adrius then turned and continued his walk to the airship with a sickening laughter; they almost forgot that Adrius was a dark magus and was not a mortal they could interact with.

After he got on the airship Adrius sat down and started thinking, he had done that because he felt that said that the city Lord and the city’s lady weren’t respecting him anymore they looked at him like a mortal. And he didn’t like that he was a Magus not a mortal so he had to make them remember he was not a mortal they could play with. He was a magus; he was destined to be above them not equal with them.

So he improvised and used Oliver's soul to make up for Lilly's. Making the scene more terrifying by torturing the soul while showing it so it would scream.

Adrius was not a maniac he didn’t just commit evil for the sake of evil he committed evil for benefits. And he did what he did today so he can prove to these mere mortals that magus aren’t mortals, they are something bigger, something better, something greater than that!
