《Magus Of Darkness》Chapter 49: Curing the poison
Advertisement
Adrius was sitting in his mini lab in Croft’s lab waiting for Eve and her special person that was poisoned.
It took about 10 minutes but then he heard knocking on the front door of the lab and he heard Croft shout: “Whoever you are fuck off now or I will fucking skin you alive”
Adrius walked out of his lab before Croft did what he said: “ Professor relax, they are with me and I’m doing a job. I’m curing someone that has been poisoned by a rotten blood scorpion, any tips?”
“ Rotten blood huh? Try to be as fast as possible to get rid of it or it will be over for them, also if you can’t extract the poison in 10 hours after they have been stang then they are doomed”
“ Thanks I’ll keep that in mind, now if you mind I will go and work and earn some money“
Adrius then opened the door to let Eve and her friend come in, she was holding her friend by his shoulder and she tucked her hand under his shoulder lifting him in the process. He looked very pale and was coughing but nothing serious about him. He had brown hair and had a handsome face. He was a lot taller than Eve and he had a very deathly pale kind of skin color.
“ Quick follow me and close the door behind you, we don’t have time“ Said Adrius while walking toward his lab.
After they got in they sat down and Adrius started to take a blood sample from him. He took out a large syringe and poked him in his vein to take some blood. The blood was red but there was a lot of black color inside of it. It was not very visible but Adrius knew that it was very serious and if he couldn’t heal him in about like two hours or three hours then the guy is dead.

He put the sample under his microscope and started to look at it. The cells were like a normal human’s but it had some blackness going inside of it. It started to enter the cells from inside the blood and turned it into this rotten kind of rotten cells. It looked very spectacular but sick at the same time Adrius was not sure how he would describe it. It was a sign of nature but it is also a sign of death.
After he examined it, he knew what he had to do, he started to make the antidote immediately.
Eve was silent throughout the whole show. She didn’t want to disturb him and she was taking care of the guy so she couldn’t focus on other things.
After one and a half hour and restart it to strain the antidote and put it in a small tube.
“ Is it done?” Asked Eve with eagerness in her voice.
Adrius didn’t answer, he just nodded but he was laughing inside of his head. He saw her body language when she asked if it was ready. Was so eager that the only explanation was that she was ready to kill for that antidote. That means that that guy is more important to her than her values, he has a plan but it will take a lot of time but it was possible because the guy is not a rank 3 magus apprentice but rank 2. And Adrius could tell that he was stronger than him.
“ OK then give it to me!” Urged Eve for him to give the antidote to her.
Adrius laughed: “ Not so fast lady, money first”
Eve was boiling with anger when she threw a pouch at him. Adrius caught it and looked inside. He counted and it was the right number.
He then came to the guy, opened his mouth and poured the antidote inside of his mouth.

“You should know that this antidote is not permanent; he has to take it every month for the next six months or more. If you want to eliminate it permanently then you need to have an official magus or a healing magus to eliminate it. I'm only a magus apprentice so I can’t do it immediately. But you have to come to me every month to take the antidote again.”
After some thank yous they got out and Adrius was alone again in his lap he sat down and poured himself a glass of wine. Of course he checked it first by smelling it and making a rat taste it and it was perfectly fine. He thought about the last mission he did for the Academy. It was inside the academy so he didn’t have to go out. It was helping a magus do an experiment by dealing with the human experiments and feeding them, watching them and noting every behavior they did. It only took about a week so it wasn’t a big deal for him now he has three more months he can relax and then he has to do another mission but he has positive thoughts that in six months or so he will advance to rank three and he will take his first long mission. Long missions are usually only for rank threes because it takes a long time as the name indicates it takes months sometimes years to complete it and he could really use a couple of years away from anything with the raven academy. Also there is the problem with the meditation technique he has to get so he can advance to an official magus.
Obviously he didn’t want to become a professor or anything inside the Raven academy. He wants to explore the world. But the only way for him to get a meditation technique was to enroll in the Raven academy as a professor and the contract is very long as Croft said. They had to teach for 100 years or more and then he was free to go.
Of course there is always hope, around the world there is this inheritance that has been scattered throughout the world for magus that didn’t have a family or didn’t want their family to get their inheritance. So they would build their inheritance grounds or just hide their inheritance and usually there is a meditation technique, their knowledge about the subject they were experimenting on and something like that. If he could get his hands on one of the inheritances maybe he could find a meditation technique. But here is the problem: his main element is a darkness which is relatively not common to have many inheritances but if he could find one then it could benefit him a lot.
‘ Well I should not worry myself a lot when I advance to rank three. I will have 150 years to live so I can find something in those years. If I couldn’t then I could always rob someone or enroll in an academy.’
The magus world is a dog eat dog kind of world, everyone fights among some selves for benefits and for power. But when an outsider or another world tries to fight with them. All of the magus world stands together and fights the enemy. They hate each other but they will stand beside each other so they can defend their homeland.
Adrius stopped thinking about what he was thinking about, and took out a book from a shelf. Sat down on the sofa he had in his lap with a glass of wine and started reading. This was his relaxed time and he was not spending it thinking about something, he would just read and drink wine.
