Chasing After My Wife Chapter 199

Brown stood up from his bed and walked towards the door. "If you want to play with me, I welcome you and your game."
"Hey wait! I'm not playing with you." Valkyrie managed to grab his elbow and spun him around to face him. "Let's talk."
"I've got nothing to say." Brown answered with a deadpan expression, soulless eyes and cold voice. "Let go of me."
"You have none? Well, I have a lot so hear me out."
"I don't have time to listen to your nonsense. Let me go. Your grip is hurting me."
Like he caught his fingers on fire, Valkyrie let go of him immediately. Brown took this moment to leave the room immediately.
"Damn it!" Valkyrie kicked the foot of the bed from frustrations. Seeing the scattered pieces of papers, he picked them up one by one and threw them inside the bin. "How else can I earn your trust again?" he whispered to himself.
When Brown left, a sad smile appeared on his lips. "Am I such an easy target for him to bully? Did he really think I would still believe him?" he murmured as he walked down the stairs. He saw Jillyanna and Travis talking to Winter in the living room.
"Where's Valkyrie?" Jillyanna asked him when she saw him coming down.
"He is probably picking up some shredded papers. Oh by the way, I have something to show you later." Brown told Jillyanna with a smile. This time it is a genuine smile.
'Shredded papers? That must be his letter. He failed.' Jillyanna thought. She immediately acted normal and led them to the kitchen. "I'll call him for breakfast."
"I'll do it. Don't tire yourself." Travis spoke and walk back upstairs. "Don't wait for us. You can start eating."

"Where is Uncle by the way? I haven't seen him since I came earlier." Winter stated as they walk. Savannah and Hawk were in the kitchen helping the cook to serve the food.
"He went to the farm early morning. He said he'll be back for lunch." It was Savannah who answered her question. "Where's Val?"
"Upstairs with Travis." Jillyanna stated. Remembering the chocolates, Jillyanna opened the refrigerator and found her share of the chocolates. "Do you guys want some?"
"Nope. I don't like sweets." Savannah stated.
"No but thanks." Winter replied to her.
Jillyanna looked towards Hawk and he also shook his head to refuse her offer. She picked up two pieces and gave Brown the other piece. She didn't know if he tasted the ones that Valkyrie gave him but she wanted them to make up already.
"This is home-made and special. If I wasn't pregnant, that person would surely refuse to give me some of these." she didn't wait for him to respond and sat on her chair before putting the chocolate inside her mouth.
"Shouldn't that be for dessert?" Winter asked with fascination that she can eat without worries.
"I need to eat it before Travis comes back." she admitted knowing that Travis was already standing behind her.
"So you are sneaking to eat chocolates behind my back?" Travis asked which didn't startle her at all.
"I am not eating chocolates behind you. Can't you that I'm in front. Duhh!"
Her response made everyone laugh out loud and was drowning the tension away. "You cheeky woman. How many did you eat?" Travis inquired again.
"Just one piece. I gave one to Brown. It was his in the first place. Someone stayed so late to make those."

Valkyrie could only face-palm himself internally. When he looked towards Brown, he ate the chocolate without saying anything. Relief washed over him and he started eating.
"I will be shopping for something later. Savy, is it fine for you to come with me. And Winter, too." Jillyanna opened up to them while putting some food on Travis' plate. She did it so naturally that Travis didn't notice anything from her.
"I want to bring Brown with me." Winter stated which made Brown turned his head towards her. Savannah choked on her food upon hearing her and Hawk gave her water to drink.
"Travis needs help for something. Only men can help though and it will also serve as a practice in case you decide to get married, too." she replied quickly to make sure that Brown will spend time with Valkyrie for the whole day.
Savannah was just about to pick another food when she realized something. "Aren't these foods Brown's favorite?"
"No wonder he's eating heartily." Winter commented before shoving another spoonful of food in her mouth.
Brown didn't say anything and just ate his food. He didn't know what game Valkyrie was playing but he didn't care anymore. He will never allow him to toy with his feelings again.
"I'm done. Call me when you need me. I'll take a rest." Brown wiped his mouth with the napkin and drank a glass of water before leaving them.
Valkyrie put down his spoon and fork with a heavy sigh. He even asked the cook to prepare his favorite foods today but he was still mad at him.
Without saying anything, he stopped eating and chase after him. Just as Jillyanna said, he needed to clear their misunderstanding no matter what happened.
"Evan wait up!" Valkyrie called out to him but Brown didn't show any sign of stopping. "I really need to talk to you."
"What is it? You are damn annoying me!" Brown snapped at him which surprised Valkyrie. It was his first time to hear Brown raise his voice against him.
"I want to say sorry." Valkyrie walked to him but Brown started walking away again. Good thing, he was going back to their room. "Can you at least hear me speak?"
Brown turned around abruptly and faced him; and Valkyrie locked the door behind him to make sure that their loud voice won't disturb anyone.
"You can speak whatever you want but don't expect me to believe you." Brown stated coldly to him. 'It was really a mistake to fall in love with this person.' he added mentally while keeping his poker face.
