Chasing After My Wife Chapter 214

After two hours of operation, the doctor finally came out with a deep sigh. "I believe you are all family members here. Anyway, the operation was a success. One of his leg was dislocated but no broken bones. His arms had a huge wound so we stitched it. The main problem was his head. It hit something sturdy and he's got wound on his head and a little blood clot. If things go well, he might wake up in a few days or in aa week but there is a chance that he'll have amnesia. We'll have to observe him from time to time."
Jillyanna didn't say anything. She only waited for Travis to come out of the operation room. When she saw him out on a bed to be transferred to a VIP room, her heart broke into pieces and she was choking in her emotions.
She followed him inside his room to check on him. Everyone was there, too but they kept a good distance from Jillyanna. Thomas was the only one who were able to approach Travis since he was his son.
"Jillyanna, are you and the baby alright?" Thomas asked the question that everyone wanted to know.
"Yes. We are doing fine. Travis protected us." Jillyanna answered without looking at him. Her eyes were focused to the man lying on his hospital bed.
She was holding on to his hand when Travis' phone rang. She picked it up from her bag and answered it.
"We found secretary Eva young madam. She was currently being sent to the hospital due to the lack of oxygen in her body."
"Which hospital are you sending her?"
"We are heading our way to Senyu Medical Center."
"Don't leave her until she wakes up. Don't let anyone visit her aside from her family. Tell me which room she is once everything's fine."

"Yes young madam."
Jillyanna turned to Thomas after her phone call. "Do you recall anyone whose last name is Guevarra, Dad?"
Thomas tried his best to remember anyone with that last name. "I remember a Guevarra who worked for me before. He stole millions from me though. Why are you asking?"
"Was this issue clarified before? Did his son knew what his father did? Because he is blaming you over his father's suicide." Even though she was talking to Thomas, her coldness didn't fade at all.
"You mean he caused this?"
"Exactly."
"How sure are you?"
"101% sure." Jillyanna firmly answered him. Thomas felt a dizzy from this news. He would never thought that his past will bring trouble to his son. He didn't even punished that person's family for what he had done and here he was, his son lying on a hospital bed with no guarantee that he will be fine.
His phone started ringing incessantly and he felt an oncoming headache already. With staggering body, he walked to the window and answered the call. After one call, another call came. For almost half an hour, he was answering calls and explained what happened to them.
In Jillyanna's view, the man looked older than what he looked like this morning. She felt sorry for him as well. This happened to his one and only son because of her.
Everyone around her were like decorations in the room. She didn't bother to talk to them at all. Her focus was on Travis and her father-in-law. She owed them her and the baby's life.
"Dad, do you mind if I take over the company?"
Thomas lifted his head and looked at her before shifting his gaze to his son. "Don't worry about it, I'll take care of it."

"How about your health? What will I tell to my husband if something happens to you?"
"Then what will I tell to my son if something happens to you and the baby?"
"Nothing will happen to me. This time, I am not going to hold back anything."
She managed to convince Thomas and had him agreed for her to join the meeting the next day.
She received a message and a faint smile hung on her lips. "Lucian, I want you to handle Mr. Guevarra's case. You don't want me to deal with him, right? My friends will be sending him over to you."
Lucian was dumbstruck with her information. 'Just how many connections does she have to deal with this matter in quick succession?' He thought to himself before nodding his head. "Are you really fine?"
"Hn. Don't worry about me." she confirmed to him. Lucian left the place and went back to the station to see her 'friends' who will be bringing the suspect to them.
It was already night time and they were all anxious and worried for her. Since Travis came out of the operation room, she worked non-stop. She took calls from time to time and reviewed some project proposals for the meeting.
Cielo walked up to her from the couch and poked her shoulders. She was still a bit afraid of the Jillyanna right now but when she think about it, she was still her sister who's putting up her defense wall.
"What do you want to eat? Your baby needs nutrition and Travis will be worried if you don't eat." Cielo spoke to her in a soft to make sure that she won't be agitated.
"Chicken so--. No need, Auntie Fei is on her way to bring me food. You guys should go home and rest."
"How about you?" Winter asked her. "Do you intend to stay here?"
"Yes. So those that have missions can go now. Those who needed to go on vacation can go as well."
"Heh! Are you going to do it again? Teacher will be so happy to see you in this state. She will be so happy to erase your memories again." Winter threatened her but Jillyanna laughed in a sarcastic tone.
"You should know me better. Nothing works twice on me unless I'm letting it happened. Get your ass off from here and deal with your mission. If you can't finish it, I'll do it myself."
Winter took a step back. She knew there's no point in talking to her when she set her mind on to some things. When their teacher conducted a hypnosis on her, they made sure she would forget her cold and ruthless behavior. They didn't know it would come back to her at this moment.
"Let's go Brown. We need to work faster." Winter dragged Brown out of the room and walked as fast as she can.
When the person she was holding didn't speak, she turned around to see him only to find Gabriel behind her. "Why are you following me?"
"You dragged me here." He answered while scratching his nape awkwardly. "You won't let go of my hand?"
Winter let him go immediately. She was planning to go back when she saw Brown running towards them with Valkyrie following behind.

What do we talk about tonight?~“How about a story?”~Fine by me. Which story? Hopefully a good one.~“There was once a lonely child in a world filled with myths, gods and demons.
