Chasing After My Wife Chapter 262

Jillyanna returned to her house and saw the progress of the extension that Travis proposed to her. Some of the rooms were already done and the interior designers were busy looking for furnitures and other stuff.
"Good morning Mrs. Madrigal." greeted one of the workers who saw her come home. Jillyanna just smiled faintly to return the greeting. She's hasn't been home since the accident and most of the time it was Hawk or Savannah who checked the progress of the construction.
Jillyanna saw the garden, blooming with flowers of different kinds. Butterflies were hovering over them and the fragrance of the flowers gave the air a sweet scent. "I miss this home." she uttered to herself while walking over to the flowers that the nannies took care of.
"Jillyanna! You are back!" It was Valkyrie who saw her standing in the garden. "Come inside. It's dusty here because of the construction."
Jillyanna nodded her head and went inside her house. "Where are the pictures?"
"Oh, we placed it on your bed upstairs." Valkyrie answered her as they walk back inside the house.
"Will you stay for lunch?" Brown asked who came out from the kitchen with an apple in his hand.
"Yes. I'll go back to the hospital in the evening."
"Why is that? Did something happened?" Valkyrie asked her upon seeing the sad look on her face.
"Nothing. I just have something to do here."
"I see." Both Brown and Valkyrie nodded their heads but they didn't believe her. Something must have really happened!
"I'll leave you guys alone. I still need to see the pictures." Jillyanna turned around and went upstairs without waiting for their reply. She got inside her room and locked it, locking herself from the outside world.

She saw the frames lying on her bed but she couldn't bring herself to open them. They kept reminding her of how Travis sacrificed himself to save her, almost losing his life in the process. She didn't want to see them for now. She didn't want to be reminded of how incapable she was.
She carried the frames one by one and placed them on the floor, beside her vanity mirror. She placed a soft cushion on the side to stop it from falling or from sliding off the floor.
When she stood up, she saw herself on the mirror and the small bump of her stomach. "My child, you are turning three months old and yet your father isn't waking up to see us. Is he still upset because of what I said to Shein? Is he taking his revenge on me? Whatever."
Jillyanna dispelled all her negative thoughts regarding Travis. She took her bathroom that she hadn't used for a long time and took a warm bath. She enjoyed her time inside her bath tub and cleaned herself thoroughly.
Little did she know, Travis woke up from his slumber. He looked around him to process what was going on again. There was no one inside the room but he found several things on the couch, on the small table and a little closet with women's clothes in it.
'So I am really in the hospital.' he thought to himself while shifting his gaze outside the window. He could see that it was almost noon time. He didn't make any sound or move on his place. He remained stationary while trying to fight off his sleepiness again.
'I am so weak. I couldn't even stay awake for a long time.' he mentally added to himself, waiting for someone to come. But there's no one.

Travis still wanted to stay awake but his eyelids were so heavy he couldn't seem to open them. By then, he heard a someone who was using a bathroom but he can't wake himself up. He fell unconscious again without seeing anyone this time.
Jillyanna brought her laptop with her but she didn't open it. She didn't want to be disappointed and she didn't want to be distracted. She wanted to give herself a piece of mind to think clearly of her situation.
She came out of the bathroom with her bath robe on and a towel was wrapped around her head to absorb the remaining water off from her hair.
"Should I really go abroad or ask the doctor to come over? If I go there, everyone will be worried and pretty sure, they would think I'll escape from him. If I ask the doctor to come over, they would know about my condition and make a fuss out of it." She sighed deeply before lying on her bed with her arms spread wide open. She was staring into space again with her empty mind.
Her phone rang, startling her and pulling her back into reality. She walked to the couch and opened her bag to find an unknown number calling her.
She answered the phone and a gruff voice of an old man came to speak to her. "Ms. Xavier, I heard you asked for my contact information from the hospital. When I heard your name, I asked them to give me your contact details instead. If I remember correctly, you are Elizabeth's daughter, right?"
"Is this Dr. Sweden?"
"Yes, it's me. Do you have time now to talk with me?"
"Yes doc. I've been wanting to talk to you for a long time."
"What is it that you need me for?" Dr. Sweden asked on the other line. He was holding Jillyanna's information from over a decade already, waiting for her to find him.
Jillyanna took a long breath and released it abruptly to calm her beating heart. She needed to prepare herself mentally for this. "Doc, I want to know if I can have the operation after giving birth? I was once told to get a surgery on my 23rd birthday and it's few months from now. But I cannot risk my child. I want to keep my baby and I can still hold on until I give birth to my child." Jillyanna was so nervous that she spoke in a hurry and wasn't sure if the doctor got his point.

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!

A Wheel Inside a Wheel
Two brilliant young me, Reinhard von Musel and Yang Wen-li, are forced to flee the countries of their birth and become refugees on opposite sides of a century long galactic war. While they both struggle to adapt to their new lives, their obvious talent propels them to the forefront of the war. Their choices will shape their adoptive homelands forever, and their clash will decide the future of the galaxy. This story is broken up into volumes, each following one half of the conflict. You can read them in chronological order, or you can follow just Yang or Reinhard. See individual descriptions below. Part One - Speaking in Tongues When Yang Wen-li’s father dies, the only thing that he inherits is a mountain of debt, which can only be paid off with fifteen years of his life. Wanting to escape that indentured servitude, Yang flees his homeland and takes up a false identity in the Galactic Empire, a hyper-stratified society where stepping out of line is punishable with imprisonment or death. Yang enrolls in the Imperial Officers’ Academy to study history, but despite his unusual and unmistakeable talent as both a tactician and a scholar, his classmates resent him for being a visible outsider. When tensions at the school boil over and several of Yang’s classmates attempt to murder him, Yang finds an unlikely ally in the top student in the class: the aloof Oskar von Reuenthal. But Reuenthal and Yang both have secrets, secrets which could destroy both their lives and their newfound friendship. His Pet | Leatherface X OC (16+)
"Ohhhh, who's this again?" The creep asked. The one with the chainsaw shrugged quickly, looking to his right. I felt my heart jumping out of my stomach and my adrenaline pumping. "Bubba's got a girlfriend!" The creep bounced up and down, chanting that stupid shit. "P-please..." I begged. I looked into the killer's eyes. He looked.. embarrassed? He has emotion? Is that why he's not killing me? I saw him reach out to open the lock but his brother shoved him back, grabbing the lightweight chainsaw as he did. "Either sex... or the saw, Leatherface." His brother held up a chainsaw. I let out a small scream. "Le-leather... f-face?" I gasped, trying to somehow earn more sympathy. He looked at me and nervously fiddled with his tie.
