Chasing After My Wife Chapter 270

Never in her wildest dream did Jillyanna ever thought of her father as a sickly person. She did remember her father visiting her at the the hospital but he didn't look sickly to her.
He was still the same young man in her eyes. He was the same strong father she had. He was never fragile in her mind. She could still remember the times he would carry her on his back. She could still remember the times that he would cook for them, plant the flowers for her mother, tie her hair, bath her and sing her to sleep.
Her judgement was wrong. It was the worst mistake that she ever made in her life. She thought he left them because of a woman. She never thought that he was sick.
Jillyanna's tears kept on falling without a sign of stopping at all. She was aching for her parents. She was in pain for them. Learning the truth was so painful that she thought she would rather die, too.
Her mother never knew how much her husband loved her. Her father never knew how much his wife loved him. They didn't know because they didn't say it. They didn't communicate. They chose to judge the situation according to their own opinion without asking the person involved.
They both made sacrifices but, what for? It was meaningless.
Jillyanna sobbed on her seat while clutching her chest. The stabbing pain was suffocating her and her throat was constricting from the onslaught of emotions.
"I'm really sorry to tell you all these." Atty. Lewis, gave her a glass of water that he found on her work table. "Drink your water."
Jillyanna reached out her trembling hand to get the water. She hiccuped and cried silently for her parents.
"Where did you bury my father?" Jillyanna asked Atty. Lewis after drinking the glass of water. She put the glass back on the table and wiped her tears with the tissue she found under the coffee table.
She tried to calm her heart but whenever she remembered the story, her tears would just fall on their own. The pain she was feeling wasn't subsiding at all.
Atty. Lewis stood up and looked towards the big Mango tree found in the front yard where a swing was tied to it. He sighed deeply to control his own emotions. Telling Jillyanna the story was taking a toll on him as well. He never wanted to relive the memories of his employer. The pain was just too raw and overwhelming. It was breaking his heart, too.

"When your father died, I had his body cremated so I can bring it back. When you and your mother left the house to go to the hospital, I had him buried under that Mango tree."
"So all along, my father was with us?"
"Hn."
"Then, why didn't you tell us? Why did you wait this long? You should've told us and my mother wouldn't have died in pain and regret! Did you do it on purpose to take revenge for my father?" She didn't want to ask it that way but she didn't know who to blame.
Should she blame her mother for keeping a secret so she can't hurt her husband? Should she blame her father for leaving without informing them? Should she blame herself for thinking too much? Should she blame the doctor who conduct the hypnosis? No she couldn't. She didn't know who to blame.
Atty. Lewis understood her frustration for knowing so much information. "I'm really sorry Miss Jillyanna. When I came to give you the house, I expected you to know the truth. After all, the Summers knew about this. They got their share of the business profit. I thought they told you about this? It's due to my ignorance that you missed such important information. I'm really sorry." Atty. Lewis made a deep bow in front of her, bending his spine to let her know his sincere apology.
"Summer. Ohh. So it's them! I thought they didn't know? Simon told me he didn't know." This time, there was no trace of a sad and grieving woman. An unknown emotion flickered in her eyes and Atty. Lewis couldn't read anything on her face but he could feel the coldness in her voice.
"I believe Mr. Simon didn't know anything. I found out that the Summer didn't like the youngest child as well as Miss Elizabeth. I guess, they didn't inform him about this. He is very close to Elizabeth and they might be taking precaution in case he would say anything to her."
Jillyanna leaned back on the couch again. She didn't say anything a faint smile formed on her lips. "Thank you Atty. Lewis for telling me this information. Thank you for taking care of my father when we couldn't do it for him."

"No problem Miss Jillyanna. At the same time, I have something else to give you." He pulled out an envelope and gave it to her. It was the will and testament of her father.
"I don't deserve these funds Atty. Lewis. I don't think I can accept this, how about you give this to the orphanage who helped him instead?"
"I don't think that's the best idea Miss Jillyanna. Anton kept thinking about you and your mother before he left. He specifically wrote this testament for you and your mom. Since your mother is gone, you will have all these. Are you really going to refuse the things that your father wanted you to have?"
"It's...I..can I receive this and give it to someone else?"
"Are you giving away your father's gift?"
"Ahh!" Jillyanna screamed in frustration before taking the envelope. "I'll receive it. I'll accept it. So what am I gonna do now?"
"You will be the next President of Xavier's shoes. The Vice-President has been waiting for you."
"What? I hate doing business! I am even just temporarily filling in for Travis. Do I really have to do that?"
"Yes."
"Can you give me a month? I have so many things in mind right now. I'll think about it and contact you when the time comes to let you know about my decision."
"That's it then. Do you still have other questions?"
"No. I have known enough. I don't think I can take any bad news anymore."
"Alright. I will take my leave now if you don't have any questions. Call me if you need anything."
"Okay." Jillyanna led the man out with her swollen eyes. She saw her black shades on a shelf at the living room so she took it and wore it to cover her eyes. "Wait."
"What is it Miss Jillyanna?" Atty. Lewis asked her just as they arrived at the front porch.
"Can you show me where exactly is the location of my father?"
Atty. Lewis nodded his head and walked her towards the Mango tree where her swing was tied to. "I buried him here. See this mark?" Jillyanna found a small size carved letter A on the bark of the tree. "I left this here to remember him."
"Thanks again Atty. Lewis. I owe you a lot. I'll make sure to repay you in the future." It was Jillyanna's turn to bow deeply in front of him.
"The best repayment you can give is to take over your father's business."
"I will still think about it."
"I'll wait for your answer. I'll go ahead now."
Jillyanna just waved her hand as she watched the man leave the house. Her heart was heavy from so much pain and her nose twitched again as her tears threatened to fall on her face.
"Dad, I love you. Mom and I love you. She loved you so much. She waited for you." Jillyanna murmured while her tears fell on the ground. "Dad, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry."
"Jillyanna? Are you okay?" Brown was standing not far from her making her wipe her tears and act like nothing happened.
"Yes I am fine."
Brown didn't insist in knowing the truth but he picked a white rose from the garden and placed at the roots of the Mango tree, right under the carved letter A.
"He loves you and your mom." Brown spoke to her with a melancholic voice. Honestly, he just wanted to find an excuse to see her up close. He needed to check her nails and lips to know if she's suffering from her heart. "It's getting cold." He draped his coat on her shoulders to keep her from getting cold.
"Thanks." Jillyanna smiled faintly but Brown knew she was still sad for her parents.
Of course she was sad but only Jillyanna knew about the things she was planning inside her mind. 'You guys separated my parents again and again. I've never wanted to kill but I guess there's no helping it.'
Many people mistook her for being a harmless person but only few people knew how evil she was. Some of those people didn't even see the rising sun again.
