Chasing After My Wife Chapter 282

After Jillyanna and Travis ate their breakfast, she helped him change into another set of hospital gown and wiped his body with a warm water with alcohol mixed in it.
"I want to go to the bathroom." Travis mumbled while she was wiping his right arm.
"Okay. Wait a moment." Jillyanna put away the small basin and face towel on the table before she helped him stand.
"I can take care of him if it's okay with you." Valkyrie offered knowing that she's a woman and a pregnant one, too.
Jillyanna smiled and politely refused his offer. "I'm fine. I can take care of him." Jillyanna spoke before she placed her arm around his back and slung his other hand on his shoulder.
"Just take a slow step. It would be bad if you move abruptly." She reminded Travis as he got down from the bed. "Don't put too much weight on your left leg. You had a serious injury when you saved me."
Travis kept nodding his head and took a slow step beside her. Step by step, with her strong support, he reached the bathroom and let himself enjoy the bliss of ridding toxins of his body through urination.
Jillyanna was looking away while he was doing his thing to hide her blushing face. Once he was done, he leaned on the sink and washed his hands before going back to his bed.
"I'm really a burden, ain't I?" Travis questioned in whisper as they walked back to the bed.
"Not at all. I'm actually relieved that I'm the one nursing you. It helps me relax my mind knowing that you are fine beside me."
"Thank you for taking care of me." Travis mumbled as he sat on his bed.

This became a daily routine for Jillyanna. She stopped coming to work and all the company affairs were taken cared of Thomas and Savannah. Hawk accompanied them wherever they go while Jackie successfully infiltrated the jail where the Summers were staying.
Valkyrie and Brown helped her take care of Travis and sometimes, friends and family came to visit them.
She would feed him, change his clothes, wipe his body, take him to walk for a minute or two in the morning and in the afternoon.
In just a week, Travis could already walk on his own to the bathroom and feed himself. The bandages were removed a long time ago and he didn't seem like someone who's comatose for a month.
He was gradually remembering everyone as well. The first person he remembered apart from Jillyanna was Gabriel who wasn't even around.
For some reason, he just talked about Gabriel who often argued with him because of a woman. He couldn't make out her face but Jillyanna knew it was Winter.
Sadly, they didn't even know the situation in Pantar. Gabriel didn't have a family who would worry about him but he's got friends.
Moreover, Jillyanna was worried because he looked like he lost his hope before he left for that mission. Now that Winter remembered him, he's not around to talk to her.
"Do you think Gabriel will come back to us?" Jillyanna asked Travis with no particular reason.
"Probably." Travis answered simply. In his mind, he believed that he'd come back but he knew it won't be a happy reunion. He just got a feeling that it would be messy and painful.
"Anyway, it is good enough that you are starting to remember everyone. They've been your friends for a long time and they helped you a lot of times. They took care of you and me. So, I want you to remember them in time.

Travis nodded his head while looking at the scenery outside his room. He was currently sitting on his bed with Jillyanna beside him. Valkyrie and Brown were sitting on the couch, monitoring the company surroundings to provide aid to Savannah and Hawk.
On the other hand, Jackie started working as an assistant chef in the regional jail. Only Lucian knew of her true background.
However, they were very cautious against the warden who was actually very young, keen and observant.
Since she arrived, he had been checking the kitchen to observe her which irritate Jackie so much. She had been working for a week yet she wasn't able to take action. The only achievement she made was making sure that Simon was healthy and safe.
"Lost in thought?" the young warden asked Jackie who was cutting tomatoes for dish that the chef was preparing.
She ignored him and continued working.
He wasn't the least bit upset with her attitude. In fact, he was curious why she was there. Many people could disguise themselves perfectly and if she wasn't facing him, her disguise would've been perfect. Sad to say, nothing can escape his observation.
Jackie didn't know that she was exposed long ago. She just focused on her task and forget that someone in front of her exist.
"I don't know what you are here for but I won't let you go if you do something unlawful." The young warden spoke with clear warning in his voice.
Jackie stopped cutting the tomatoes and put down the knife. She closed her eyes to calm herself before opening them again. "I might really do something unlawful if you keep bothering me. Go away! I have work to do. I don't want a fly pestering over me."
From the time she arrived, it was the first time that she raised her voice and act cold against him.
"Feisty." He commented with a sweet smile before he walked out of the kitchen. His action boiled her blood and for the first time in history, she wanted to punch someone to death because of his smile.
"Looks like I'll have to do it fast." She murmured to herself before she continued working.
During her first week, she familiarized herself with the place and the surroundings. She observed the people and their habits. Just like her twin, she has a great memory. She observed the Summers and Simon who was often left alone. His family regarded him as traitor when they found the truth after the investigation.
They hated him so much and he was often found sitting in a corner eating by himself. Sometimes the warden would accompany him to eat but his eyes would always go astray and find Jackie behind the counter.
