Chasing After My Wife Chapter 305

After two weeks of staying in the hospital, Gabriel was discharged and the bills were paid by Mattias. Since he helped them negotiate and protect their place, Mattias was willing to take him in and help him.
Since the village that Annie lived was burned down, the survivors moved to the neighboring village to live, that includes Gabriel now.
"Big brother, will you be fine here? We haven't settled down yet so we will have to suffer under harsh conditions for the mean time." Annie informed him as she walked on his side while Mattias pushed his wheelchair.
Gabriel smiled faintly and rubbed her head. "Don't worry about me. I can take care of myself. And this is better compared to the camp."
Annie nodded her head in agreement. In truth, that wasn't really the question she wanted to ask. She really wanted to tell him to go back and not fake his death but she swallowed the words before it could leave her mouth.
It wasn't a very large village but Gabriel could hear the cheerful laughters of children as they ran on the road, chasing each other as they played. Their smiles were contagious and Gabriel couldn't help but spread his lips into a genuine smile as well.
"These children are the reasons why we fight. We didn't want them to suffer but we also realized that we caused their sufferings. Which was the reason why we wanted to seek peace and order with the government. Sadly, our village was burned down before we can make a move." Mattias stated while he watch the children play.
"We'll protect these children." Gabriel responded with firm resolution. Since he decided to stay, then he might as well do his best to protect these people who's helping him.

Mattias brought him to a house with a single bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. It wasn't a very big space but it was enough for a single man like him.
"The village chief told me to let you stay here." He pointed his index finger to the house beside the one that Gabriel will be staying. "That house over there is where Annie and I will stay. If you need anything, just call Annie. I will be out most of the time to patrol and guard the village so Annie will stay to help you."
Gabriel thanked the man before he took his crutches and walked inside. "I'll be resting for now so you don't have to worry about me."
"Okay. We'll leave now." Annie responded and went out with Mattias, closing the door behind her. "Will he be fine Uncle?"
"He will be fine." Mattias resolutely answered.
On the other hand...
Travis and Jillyanna were both busy. They postponed their planned trips to locate Gabriel first. Since she was only staying at home, she helped Thomas with the company affairs while Travis recuperate.
As the days went by, he was becoming more and more handsome in her eyes. He gained back his weight and he started doing some exercises to work on his muscles. It was very seldom of him to get dizzy and he was recovering his memories a little bit each day.
"Don't overwork yourself." Jillyanna mentioned while she was typing something on the computer. Travis just got back from their mini-gym and directly looked for her in the study room.
"I can say the same thing for you. When I left you were busy and when I get back, you are still busy." Travis complained as he walked towards her and stand behind. "Aren't you tired?" he asked while he kissed her temple.

"I'm fine. It's not like I walked to god-knows-where. I'm just sitting here this whole time." Jillyanna responded, tilting her head to look up to him and kissed his chin. "Take a rest before taking a shower."
"Yes milady." Travis bowed with his hand on his chest as if he was bowing to a queen. Basically, Jillyanna was his queen.
Amused to his actions, Jillyanna just chuckled and watched him. He straightened his body once again and walked out of the study room to get back to their room.
After a few minutes, the door was opened once again. This time it was Shein and Valkyrie who came in.
"Morning sis!" Shein greeted.
"Morning Jill." Valkyrie added.
"Morning." Jillyanna responded to them. They stayed up late last night again to check on Gabriel which was the reason why the woke up late this morning.
"Did something happen while we're gone?" Shein asked her while he turned on his computers.
"Nothing in particular." Jillyanna mumbled, keeping her eyes on the screen. Suddenly, she paused whatever she was doing and looked at them. "Did you guys know who the little girl that Gabriel saved?"
"I don't know." Shein answered almost immediately.
"I don't know either but if there's a record of her in the military files, I can find it." Valkyrie stated. "Why do you ask?" he added.
Jillyanna frowned and thought how to say her words. She looked at the large TV inside the room with so many CCTV footage on the screen.
"I was just thinking that, the little girl was the only person that Gabriel trusted in Pantar. He even gave his dog tag to her. If he, let's say, if he faked his death, most likely the little girl is helping him. If we can find that little girl, perhaps we can find where Gabriel is, too."
"Bravo!" Shein clapped his hands in amazement. "I never thought of that. I just do whatever big bro asked me to do. I didn't even think about the little girl."
"In that case, I'll check on the military files. It's impossible if they didn't have any data of her." Valkyrie just said that but he was soon got disappointed. There wasn't any information of the little girl!
Shein tried it and he couldn't find anything either. He was met with a dead end.
"I guess our hunch about him being alive is right." Jillyanna stated before she continued working.
Outside the study room, Winter who was just about to knock the door was dumbfounded.

Only Villains Do That

Forced to embrace Evil without being too evil, Seiji walks the razor's edge, building his forces and biding his time till he can get revenge on the goddesses and be free of them, his only certainty that he will not be getting out of this with his hands clean.
