Chasing After My Wife Chapter 318

Jillyanna went to have a her heart condition checked first. It had been taken into consideration that every month, before she went to have a check up for her baby, she'd have to get her heart checked first.
Jillyanna didn't mind tedious process and waiting time as long as Travis was beside her.
"Your baby bump is growing. Have you asked what your baby's gender is?" Dr. Alison, her heart doctor, asked Jillyanna while checking on her ECG.
"I'll have an ultrasound later after this." Jillyanna answered happily.
"You are so young yet I can see how much you wanted to have this baby. Women at your age, most of them looked after their career first before family." Dr. Alison commented while getting the ECH result read.
"We have our own reasons." Jillyanna responded since she didn't want to judge anyone with their decision.
Dr. Alison nodded in agreement before she showed the ECG to Jillyanna. "Your heart condition is getting worse at the same time, I can see that you took care of yourself perfectly. This heart condition right now is perfect to undergo surgery."
"Thanks doc. I'll keep in mind to take care of myself. I can still hold on until I give birth." Jillyanna reassured the doctor instead of the doctor reassuring her.
"Alright. As much as possible, avoid anything that can give a negative impact to your heart. Control your emotions and don't get too stress or upset."
"Got it doc." Jillyanna nodded her head happily.
When she got out, Travis was waiting for her right outside the doctor's office. Jillyanna stopped him from going inside this time since he's such a worrywart.
"How was it?" Travis asked immediately when he saw her coming out.
"Dr. Alison told me that I'd have to avoid getting upset, sad or frustrated. She also said that my heart is good for surgery, of course, I had to refuse and wait until after giving birth."

"Don't worry, I'll take care of you and the baby." Travis kissed her right cheek while taking her hand and intertwined them as they walked towards the OB ward.
"I wanna go shopping!" Jillyanna said excitedly. Our baby's room is still empty since we didn't know the gender yet. After the check up, let's shop alright?" she said excitedly, her eyes sparkling with merriment as she spun her head to see Travis watching her with love in his eyes.
"Hn. Let's do whatever you wanted to do." Travis indulged her whims again without any hesitations.
After a few minutes of walking, Jillyanna and Travis arrived at the OB ward. Jillyanna found her obgyne immediately and went inside her office which also has a small laboratory inside.
"You look so happy. Are you excited?" her doctor asked while preparing her documents and lab machines.
Jillyanna just nodded her head while holding on to Travis for moral support. Travis gently squeezed her hand to remind her that he'll be there all throughout the process.
"Come in here. Let's get this done so you can take a rest at home." The doctor gestured her to come over to her small laboratory room. She asked Jillyanna to lie on the inclined bed with Travis sitting on the chair beside it.
She pushed her blouse up, just under breast before putting on some cold gel. Jillyanna shivered from cold but she didn't mind it. After awhile, her doctor placed an object over her stomach, moving it around to see her baby.
"Look at this blessing, he's very healthy inside you." The doctor commented while letting them know of her gender. "A healthy baby boy."
"It's a boy?! Oh my..I'm so excited to see him grow." Jillyanna exclaimed, tear-eyed, while she looked at the baby on the monitor.

The doctor moved it around again, showing the head, the other limbs as well as the developing brain.
"I can't wait to spoil him." Jillyanna mumbled while Travis wiped the gel off from her stomach. "I wonder who will he take his beauty from?"
"It should take from you. You're carrying it after all." Travis responded. Even if he wanted their child to take after him, he wouldn't tell her that.
"It doesn't matter as long as he's healthy." she mumbled while climbing down from the bed. The doctor developed a photograph of their baby and handed it to Jillyanna.
"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Madrigal. I am so happy for your healthy baby boy."
"Thanks doc. I'm glad that you're here to always guide us and advice us." Travis responded to her.
"No big deal. It's part of my job." the doctor stated.
"Bye, doc. Thank you for today." Jillyanna waved her hand, following after Travis who opened the office door already.
"It's a baby boy! I have a baby boy!" she wanted to scream from the joy she felt but since she was still in the hospital, she can only whisper these words happily beside Travis.
"Since we're going out to shop, do you have anything in mind?" Travis reminded her since it would be bad if they would just grab whatever they want without knowing its purpose.
"Can you give me my phone so I can search for something?" Wherever they go, at home or outside their house, Travis was assigned to bring her bag for her or keep her phone with him to minimize her contact with radiation.
"Let's do it when we're back inside the car." Travis informed her since he didn't want her to trip over.
"Okay."
As they walked hand in hand, Jillyanna was already thinking of the things that he wanted to buy for her baby. She's not going to buy a lot of things since she still have her things when she was a child. Her baby can still use them in the future.
"Don't just think about our baby, I'm also here beside you." Travis murmured in jealousy. "You still have to think about me too."
"Of course my big wolf. I won't ever forget you." Jillyanna pulled his hand and kissed his knuckles. "I love you."

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
