Chasing After My Wife Chapter 326

Gabriel didn't know when he fell asleep but when he woke up, he felt like his head was splitting in half.
He tried getting up from his bed, dizzy and weak, still he managed to sat up straight. He looked towards his bedside table and found his empty water pitcher.
"I must have stayed so late last night." Gabriel murmured. Even though he was trained to be almost always awake all the time, his body gradually adapt to his current living environment. He had been sleeping early and waking up early these past several days.
Last night was the second time he had been so anxious to the point of getting a headache.
'Knock! Knock! Knock!
The gentle rapping on the door whenever Annie knocks, pulled Gabriel back to his reality. With his crutches, he stood up from the bed and helped himself sit on to his wheelchair. He made his way to the small living room and to the front door.
Even though he had told Annie that she can come and go all the time in his house, she insist on paying respect by not invading his privacy directly. She would always knock and wait for him to open the door or wait for him to tell her to come inside.
"Good morning brother Gabriel." Annie greeted him with a basket full of food again. "I came earlier but you didn't wake up no matter how many times I called you so I decided to wait until this time to come and visit again."
"Thanks Annie. I slept late last night so I was still catching up with my sleep. Come inside." Gabriel opened the door widely and gestured her to come in.
Annie came in and put down the basket on his small dining table. He set the plates and other utensils before opening the lid of four boxes this time.

She brought him a box of fried rice, scrambled eggs and bacon, braised eggplant, and a corn and crab soup. There was a small thermos with a hot black coffee in it which she poured on his mug.
"Have a seat and eat your breakfast. It's late already and the students will be here soon." Annie stated as a matter of fact. After making sure that everything was set perfectly, she went to the living room and watched a TV series. She would wait for him to finish his food and bring the empty dishes with her to wash them.
"Annie, is your uncle still around?" Gabriel asked while taking a sip of the black coffee that he likes the most.
"Hn. He's preparing to leave. He said that he'll be buying some medical supplies. Do you want me to call him?"
"Yes please. I want him to buy me something."
Annie didn't need to be told twice, she immediately ran out of the house and called her uncle from the neighboring house across the one that Gabriel was staying.
Mattias came as soon as he was called. "What is it?"
"Can you buy me a laptop and several boxes of school supplies?"
"Sure. What school supplies do you need?"
Gabriel pulled out his phone that Mattias bought and sent a list of different items to him. "Also, can you buy these things in a store outside this city? I'm afraid that some men from the military would track the movement of my funds. I don't want them to know that I am still alive."
"Got it. Anything else?"
"That's it for now."
Mattias nodded his head and went out of the house. "Take care of Gabriel while I'm away. Don't let the other kids stress him so much." He reminded his niece.

As expected, Annie nodded her head.
The thing that Gabriel was worried about already happened during the first time he asked Mattias to withdraw some money from his account.
Unknown to them, Valkyrie and Winter had been prepared to make a move. They hid and waited at the alleyway which Annie and her uncle used several times.
When Valkyrie arrived at the place, there wasn't any cameras indeed. The place beyond the alley was desolate and lonely. They didn't have any idea that it was only taken as a short cut to come back to the village which was situation in the middle of mountain area with thick forests and vegetation.
Shein was monitoring Pantar and other cities that was surrounding it. It was also the reason why it took them so much time to find Gabriel.
Valkyrie and Winter waited but there was no sign of anyone using that route in the alley. Several hours passed and soon, the clock strikes noon.
"So, they won't be using this path today? We can't really give up this place since we didn't have any leads." Valkyrie commented while looking around the area. As much as they wanted to find the place through other military officers, they couldn't do it.
Why? Because they weren't told to come to Pantar! Calhoun wanted them to stay at home and relax but they disobeyed him. If someone knew they were there, Calhoun would know as well.
Just as Shein was about to leave and go to the comfort room, a red dot blinked rapidly outside Pantar. It was indication of someone using Gabriel's funds.
"Wait for my instructions, someone is using Gabriel's funds." Shein stated which alerted Valkyrie and Winter. They didn't know where the person exited since they didn't see anyone came out of the alley. They were highly suspicious of this activity.
"It's the man with the little girl!" Shein exclaimed while zooming in the face of the person on the camera. He went out of the bank with the newly withdrawn money. "He's walking to a shopping mall. I'll send you the address so go find a cab to take you there."
Winter and Valkyrie moved immediately out of the corner they were hiding. Valkyrie hailed a taxi and Winter got herself inside as soon as the taxi stopped in front of them.
Winter received the text message from Shein and showed it to the driver. Since the place wasn't overly populated, there wasn't any traffic jams.
They arrived at the mall that Shein told them and got inside. With Shein's assistance, it didn't take them long to find the man at the electronics' shop, buying a laptop.
